It was sloppy writting by R* to just throw The Lost in there and in extension the terrible treatment ofSpoilerJohnny Terry and Clay.
I like what they did toSpoiler, it shows that even thoughJohnnySpoilerwas a tough character-one of the toughest we've had-he was shadowed by Trevor's manic rage. It was to give us a sense of how much more powerful Trevor is over him.Johnny
- Meth Addiction ~ Johnny says many times over the course of his DLC that he wants Ashley off the crystal and saying how it isn't any good. It also never even hints that he has any interest to start taking it.
- San Andreas Chapter ~ During friend activities with his Brothers, Johnny mentions that with all the trouble he's had with this Chapter he never wants to go national (expand The Lost).
- Ashley - Johnny clearly states to both Ashley and Angus that he's done with her.
However GTA V back peddles on everyone of these issues. I could accept 1 out of the bunch, but every single one? Anyways moving on.
Clay & Terry
Out of all the characters from The Lost and Damned that make the most sense being here it's Clay. He was the one that showed interest in both expansion, seeing the world, and meth (I'm tweeking my face off") However they turned this to also very tough characters into cannon fodder literally love tapping them with Trevor's truck kills them. This whole mission pretty much turns all these characters inside out and gives no reassurance as to why they are the way they are besides the lazy storytelling that is "Meth". You're telling me these two wouldn't just open fire on Trevor who openly comes out and say he killed Johnny? I don't care who Trevor is these guys wouldn't stand for that especially if he killed their apparent VP (How Johnny got to being VP no idea.. again lazy)?
The Lost & The Angels of Death
- Numbers ~ The Alderney Chapter and Broker Chapter were the only known cells of The Lost and at the end of TLAD Alderney was dismantled. Angels of Death formed in San Andreas and apparently already had chapter all the way across the US.
Okay with that you're telling me within 5 years The Lost somehow out grew the Angels of Death, eliminated them, then started a rather large prosperous Meth business that apparently they all started using themselves (Except for Johnny who apparently was to good for their stuff and had to get Trevor's premium stuff)? This whole thing screams lazy writing so that Rockstar could throw in cameos that for shock value.
What should have happened? Trevor's antagonist in Blaine should have been the Angels of Death and The Lost shouldn't have made an appearance at all. (Ashley could have) An actual story line would be nice to. Those are my thoughts though if you agree cool if you don't that's fine everyone has their opinions. I just feel that for all that stuff in V to happen is like winning the lottery as in that it's such a stretch it hurts the story (to me) more then it ever helped it. I think what we got was an insult to the amazing story that I played through during The Lost and Damned and not only did it stain the characters it made me think R* doesn't care about their stories anymore, sad cause V was so promising.
