I understand that damage to the car affects the price he buys it for, but when you respray the car does the paint job you pick affect the selling price?

Yes. But it wouldn't be worth it to buy an expensive paint because you're only selling it for 1/4 of what you spent. So you're losing money.

Ok thanks was gunna follow up on that.

One more thing, does the actual text message influence when and where the cars spawn in general terms, or do those cars always spawn in specific areas?

Most of the cars will spawn randomly, but at least the tailgater will spawn in The golf parking lot, but you can get most of them in the streets

The past couple of times, I've been able to find them at the LSC parkling lot in the middle of the city.

For Simeon vehicles you get reimbursed for the price of the paint job, but not for the price of the repairs.

$9000 car + $780 paint = $9780 ($9000 profit)

So  presumably $9000 car +$25000 paint = $34000 ($9000 profit) but I've never tried it.

You don't lose money buying expensive paints for Simeon vehicles, but you don't gain money either so there's no real point. All it means is you'll lose more money if the car ends up getting stolen or destroyed by another player (more likely to happen for HP Simeon vehicles than normal Simeon deliveries). The other upgrades have a less than 1:1 relationship on the selling price so you'll lose money on those (sell for ~1/4 of the buying price).

Thanks, I was wondering if more upgrades would equal a bigger payout.

Just to add to this for a second - crew paints DO NOT get reimbursed.

Penumbra (Simeon car selling price : ~$4,000) with $25,000 crew paint - $4,000

High-Priority F620  (HP Simeon car selling price : ~$16,000) with $6,250 paint - $21,574 (with some damage)

Might also apply for chrome paint too, haven't tried that. But certainly for most of the standard paints you get a 1:1 reimbursement when selling the vehicle to Simeon.
