Personally i would rather have a forum thread here...maybe even this one since it is in the right section that is just an anything that needs discussing thread. I have owned and or been part of several small clan or crew based forums and frankly they do not get used as you might desire, often a struggle just to get members to join them...and they tend to die off quickly with a lot of wasted work put into it by the passionate few that created it.

Just my opinion though...if you make one i will be there.

I agree a private forums would be good. I will help with what I can but I cannot administer or moderate at this time. I have done this in the past and just do not have time now.

i would hope that moderation wouldnt be much of an issue, as were all there for the same purpose and i doubt we will be porn trolling each others threads so it should be minimal in terms of moderations as we could make it private for RRR members only (approved registration requiring social club or psn/XBL tags to verify),

but as i do forum admin and moderation for a living (*somewhere that i will never say lol) i could put myself forward for that, we would need a separate email address for forum admin to access... i just dont have hosting/ domain to set it up on...

I was part of a very long running thread on the FIFA forums. Long story short, the establishment locked it and perma-banned 2 integral members so we set up our own forum. It's been a big success for our group.

2 points that you've mentioned-

Moderation has been non-existent, we're all mature people and keep things decent without needing to be told. Although, like released inmates, we had a lot of fun exercising our new powers early on and editing each others posts, the novelty soon wore off...

New members do not simply appear and we're too obscure to find, you'd need to direct people there from this site.

Lots of advantages of course, the main one being that we can have as many threads, dedicated to as many topics as we like, things don't get lost in the flood.

This has been a stable platform for us, for the most part.

http://over30s.creat...m.com/index.php

Personally, I think you're probably fine with the set up you have here, once you've settled into the various threads things will remain on topic a bit more readily.

As for the code of conduct, Tolly's right about the hierarchy so I'll butt out and abide by guidelines set. I'll make sure my crew sees them too.

On the pile up thing, Ash, I'll look to do invite only races more often and hopefully see an improvement at the 1st corner, it only takes one person to clear everyone out after all. We had one last night on Dipping In that started brilliantly, the start there can be an issue with that change in elevation but everyone went thru at high speed and cleared the next corner too. Was loving it till I cut a corner too fine and missed a bloody checkpoint.

Looking in my mirrors before cornering Luap, I'll take that into account too. I've generally been very cautious in RRR races, if that's the way people like it then that's fine by me. Like Ash said tho, as long as you don't PIT me or sideswipe me, I'm good to go. I don't mind a bit of aggressive maneuvering but given my less than perfect abilities, I should probably not go there myself.

After reading this I remembered going thropugh this exact thing in the past with some other groups and it was exactly as you put it.

I have started about 10 different forums, even bought software and domain hosting. They didn't last long.

Honestly, I'm a dedicated RRR member and I love racing with you guys, but I wouldn't be signing up to another forum just to consult on RRR alone. I just don't have the time, and it I suspect that it would die out pretty quick. Unless we expanded over different games.

big ass post warning

there is definately a cost/benefit to having a private forum, it wouldnt be a replacement for our activity here, but just a slightly quieter area where more private matters could be addressed...if necessary

as for the gentlemans rules/etiquette guidelines i would hate to see a really strict and regimented structure, thats never gonna it well with me... ultimately theres one word that can sum it up... RESPECT...  we all seem to have this which is the commonality in the crew and where any guidelines should really point towards.. but obviously one persona interpretation can differ to the next persons and what is fun for one isnt fun for all...

my perspective on the guideline is that they should not impede on anyones individual style, shouldnt dictate how and when we play (some crews seem to get all bent out of shape if you miss a regular meeting, but were grown up, we have lifes and other slightly more important matters than cruising LS... or do we :p) but should define our group behavior and how we represent ourselves as crew members...

im definately supportive of everyone having their own approach to racing, finding what driving styles/lines work for you (and your choice of car, which makes a big difference) and improving your performance in the way you see fit... but where that impedes on others you should be cautious that we are in a shared space and the shared ideals that brought us together should be respected...

to use examples form this thread, ill never tell don not to take the inside line on a corner he knows well (hell i do it myself)... or for ash to not stickybomb an NPC as we set off on an impromptu race.. Although im clearly passionate about this i dont take it too seriously. i play the game to unwind and if you PIT me, or even if you feel the need to send mercs on my ass in the middle of an impromptu race, snipe me for the bounty on my head, occasionally drive into my car while im parked outside LSC, or punch me in the face while im trying to snipe-defend t0lly while hes stuck in the altruist camp (all of which have happened in crew only session ive been in) .. i tend to not mind and usually laugh about it... but continually targeting someone for an hour, or taking bad lines through EVERY corner, always driving erratically to win a race (as opposed to skillfully blocking which i acknowledge is a fair and valid manouver) is something that would cause alarm bells to ring that someones gone "renegade"

for all the suggestions ive made please remember i say these as guidelines only, from my personal perspective and would never want it to detract from (what is ultimately, cos you paid for it) your game... everyone will have a different opinion, i welcome that, and i expect some of you will agree with (hopefully most of) what ive suggested and some will disagree with (hopefully only a small amount) of what ive said... thats life... but finding a common ground is what brought us together, and its this we should solidify.

Ride Together, Die Together (probably in Nitty dons limo :p) Red Rum for life

This! That sums it up! I can't believe those things have gone on in a session tho Mo! I thought that I had it bad with mercs that one time, but all that other stuff is crazy, and frankly not cool.

I do think Invite Only Private session in Free Roam should carry some basic rules.

Example: I don't mind being killed for the bounty on my head by one of my crew. But not when I'm doing something. You can happily have it. Just wait for me to say Shoot me before you kill me. But when I'm sitting in my car trying to buy something from my phone and you kill me and I have to start again. That's not fair and not what I'd expect from a crew member.

It's not all bad tho! Last night some of us on the horse racing track, well me, shouted destruction derby! You can imagine what happened next! It's not all bad and strict but as Mo says. Respect.

The way i see it I dont go to crew sessions to kill people. If a mate has a bounty I will ask if he wants it gone and if so i shoot him and share the pay. If he says no he can run around with the bounty all night i wont touch him. I see it as more or less a safe zone when with friends unless it is a specific game we decide to play like protect the president or something. Hell i dont even like to have crew in a deathmatchcause id rather not shoot crewmates.

On the other hand our xbox numbers in my time zone are hardly high enough to make a crew session even worth doing. One thing i really wish is that if you and your crew are in a crew session and some decide to do a mission they would get dumped back into the same crew session...or if all in the session join a race they should all still be returned to the same crew session when done. Sort of a come and go as you please the session is always open. When you first come online you could hit join crew session and it would put you in this session. If there isnt one it would create one instead of dumping you in public. If it is full you would have a new one created.

If anyone sees me with a bounty on, don't hesitate, just shoot me! As soon as I pick one up I look for friendly takers, I get a bit of a panic on...

I never go passive but I don't start trouble, I salute strangers in free mode. They shoot me. Then my bro and I have to go hunt them down for being rude.

Would be great if people just randomly hung out instead of shooting on sight.

I do enjoy the LSC shuffle, you're both doing your own thing but with one beady eye open. Maybe I'll just drive round the block....

Crew sessions, I would expect nothing more than doffed caps and Pimms all round.

Took me a few days to find this thread apparently, lol.

If I am on an invite only and invite you, don't take my bounty money. I got it from stealing NPC cars so I did it that way to garner extra money. If you ask and I say sure, then it's fine but often times I want it and I will most likely be driving my car and it would end up costing me my insurance money for shell out for it.

I had a friend in my other crew do this to me once and it turned out bad since he was hell bent on taking me out, which caused me to have to get my car from impound, then try and loose the cops once again all the while my wife bitching at me to get off the game since we were going to be eating.

I don't expect crew members to do this, but that is me, I know some people just shoot first and ask questions later when it comes to GTA and that is not how I play this game. I don't see this as a shooter, I see it as a sandbox game. This is why you will hardly ever see me in an open lobby.

All the posts I am seeing on the guidelines look good in my opinion. I brought up the question on making a private forum since I have my own domain but it sounds like it not the thing to do since there are couple that have stated they would never join.

Should I just post my videos in this thread since it looks like the admins are bitching at us for posting in the other one?

Thanks for supporting the bounty idea! It's hella annoying...

If you have videos, post them. I think I speak for everyone for wanting to see what you've got!!

And the only reason I wouldn't join a separate forum is because it's hard enough keeping up here as well as what I mentioned before!!!!!

As I said, that is for me. On a side note. If we were in a crew session and someone in the crew put a bounty on me, that is fair game as I would take it in a fun situation of it an even playing field with other crew members.

I posted the last couple of videos in the other thread but if you guys want to put all of them up in there, that is fine or you could just go to my channel on youtube to view them there.

Very Good. Agree with all of those. You might want to give it another read. I noticed a few errors. like 'kill' is 'will' etc.. But it's good and I agree with them all. :)

Cool.

Hey Mo, was soooo tempted to join you for that race last thing but it was already late for me, I'm up at 7. My bro and I have a sort of sign off ritual, once we get back to FM for the last time, we drive back to our garages, 1 may need a lift, and have a mooch round for 5/10min. Last night we simply drove past that LSC carnage on our way home and got gunned down. Couldn't get away, was just trying to get my car back and go when you came along, had to give up in the end and just quit. I was getting mullered.
Still, was a fine 1st hello :D
Tried to make it quick and painless....

Connection was ropey last night. In a survival with Ash and 2 of my original crew, got booted into wave 7 on my own :/
Made it to round 8....
Kept getting booted. Is it more stable in jobs launched from closed crew sessions?

hey dude,

my mic died just before that session so only had chance to charge it a little, but i think i made it obvious to claim that bounty on my head lol, i was gonna run you away form the war zone as well, happens sometimes particularly around the lsc.

tbh i hd server issues on my last couple of races too, setup a playlist for me ash and kxk but when the race started i was on my own...

as for stability from my experience iv found using playlists is alot better than just hosting jobs... one of the huge benefits is if your in an invite only session and start a playlist, you get put back in the invite session with everyone from the playlist when your finished, as opposed to all being dumped in different public lobbies after a normal job. Also end to end the playlists seem alot more stable and less connection time out and drops... thirdly theres no voting screen so its alot quicker betyween jobs andless looking at loading screens...

im thinking of making a new playlist with a mixture of races and survivals... obviously it would have to be limited to 4 players only.. but if were in a lobby with more than 4 we can run seperate hosts and should all finish roughly the same time.. i know theres a couple of guys that like shooting so given the size of the crew now it would be good for us to mix it up a bit, i know i hd some funny moments with Ash and StephenDrifts last night, riding some bmx then having a full on war with the police on vespucci beach around the skatpark area (took down 2 choppers with my AP pistol,,, winning) and doing a couple of gang attacks as well... im all for the variance

yea it was definatley a bit sketchy last night, R* really need to get their brown* in gear and sort out the servers... after multiple patches, DLC and 2 months after online is released and the servers are still not stable, really disappoints me, i mean im not agry, im jsut disappointed...

but on more positive news had a fun crew session (+guests) with StephenDrifts, Ashleyman, Ryanlinfield, Nitty Don, worthsclio (one of stephens friends) and Refuso, good times flipping bikes around the processed survival area, riding some bmx down to vespucci beach and causing a little bit of LSPD havoc on the beach... good times

I ended up having to finish that Survival on my own last night. It said you guys left.. I hadn't realised it split us into different sessions mid way. So strange..

And Mo the last playlist I was well up for. But then I got kicked from the session. I had about 30 seconds back in Freemode waiting to be invited back and they my internet reset itself, so I just went to bed!

Last nights session was great! I'm all up for playlists that contain a mix. I would start making my own playlists but I can't seem to find out how to do so! Tips?

You have to do it in game. Just go to Playlist and you can create one from there. Just choose from the list of jobs to add to one, then save it with a custom name.

you'd better, im watching you lol :p

Just as a general point as well we have 5 pending requests to join the crew... if anyone is online right now that has approval rights, please try and hook up with the new guys and run some races,

you can find them on the Social Club site in the "manage hierarchy" section if you've got the necessary rights.. not sure if they are xbox or psn from my provisional look, but if you go to the in game pause menu > Online > Crew > Pending (if i remember rightly from memory) you should see who si pending for your console type :)

dont wana leave them waiting too long to get involved in some crew shenanigans...

yea that public lobby was quite fun, started with just me and jessica (im pretty sure hes EyeMacHunt on here) we both had bounies so took up spots on rooftops to snipe out those would be hunters... then don comes rolling in with the tank for ground support, stephen popped in to join me on the roof and we raged some pretty heavy *(but fair) warfare... there was one guy who made a point of sniping me (claiming a couple of 9k bounties in the process) after i gunned him down a few times.. all in the name of good fun :)

I am still only in the Muscle squad so I am of no use, lol.

we will be adjsuting the heirarchy shortly to help structure crew memenegement a little more, in the meantime ive bumped up your ranking grnd
