i need to test some other cars on this track, seems a significant performance difference and ive only tried two cars (carbo and coq) so far, i used to always race the 9f before i got my elegy, no idea why i havent tried that car on the commute yet

I don't NEED a video.. just thought it would be cool to see.. plus if it goes on YouTube.. That could promote the crew more.

Well I have tried and tried and tried and even though I know that at minimum two people have already got me beat...this is the best I can do. I have made myself sick of this track trying to best the soon to be winning times and failed.

That is pretty darn good Luap. I found the trick to shaving time (obviously getting turbo start) is the first turn onto Olympic Fwy. It needs to be as smooth and fast as possible. If you get any wiggle, rub the guard rail, or loss of traction you might as well start over. I just let off the throttle slightly until the apex, the rest of the race is full throttle.

Hopefully the next challenge will have some tighter turns :-)

I'd post my time but it says I'm not allowed to use the image extension so I sent it via email.

I've still got some work to do. Yet to break the 2:00:00 barrier. My closest has been with the 9F Cabrio (I thought for sure it would be Rapid GT or Carbonizzare). Go figure.

Back in my own home at last.

Aiming to have a few spins on Commute, hoping it will help me choose my next purchase, 1 of about 6 sports cars.... My Elegy is great so I'm just looking for something fun this time.... 9F seems to be doing well but it's not my preferred choice atm, can't say these times aren't influencing me....

Main point of posting tho, I expanded my playlist. If anyone wants to add this to their game...

I managed one 1:59:971 in the carbo w a damn near perfect corner on that first turn but every other run was over 2 mins w that car... The 9f was definately faster, even the feltzer for me was a shade faster than the carbo.. Need to test the rapid gt and get a lil better in that first turn w the 9f before I submit a time

submitted my final time via email... ive probably got chance to do a couple of runs tonight that might improve on it, but i really doubt it as the last 3 runs i did before the weekend (trying to better the time i submitted) i missed the boost and decided its probably better to call it a day, think the pressure got to me lol

This is a tough challenge. You have to time the launch just right, get the on ramp turn perfect with no brake and as much throttle as possible, hope the wind is not in your face. Then it comes down to milliseconds for a top time.

thats what makes it such a challenge, its a relatively simple course, not many turns, none of them significantly tight... the difficulties come in the fact everyone is going to hit really good runs on this track and times will be hellishly close...

my fastest run i dont think i actually used the brake at all, managed to of and on the gas in that first corner and it significantly reduced my time, but its taken me a few runs to get that and i cant replicate it...

I never used the brakes once on this track. Stock vehicles using brakes in a turn just caused them to loose grip on that corner so I just let off of the gas in approach of the turn. Everything else was full throttle the entire way.

exactly what i found, for some reason the brake just seemed to apply oil to the back tyres...

although i do have a much better racing line on the commute now, it was pretty sharp anyway as its hardly a difficult course, but i found nipping to the other side of the road on two of the sections between the bridges was a shade faster if you hit it perfect, but a shade slower if you dont... so its a risk but something to consider

It's the Final Countdown!!!

Glad this was a challenge. Last thing I wanted to see was a land slide win.

Those who haven't sent/ posted their official times, be sure to have that done by 11:59PM EST.

Wanted to have a go at this but I'm pushing the deadline now, ulp....

If you don't get a time from me, it's because I had a quick couple of goes, hit 2m10 and gave up.

dont worry cuz, i missed the go boost, hit a lamp post, span out on a simple corner and banked a respectable 2:33 on one of my runs... but it left me plenty room for improvement hahaha...

Ringtone, I've got your image but to post one the forums, you have to upload the image to an image hosting site such as photobucket. Once uploaded, copy the IMG link and post it in a new reply here. BAM!! Instant Image.

This was my quickest, done it on my 3rd go i think and couldn't match it again. If the pic hasn't worked properly it's because Photobucket wont let me post for some reason so i had to manually IMG /IMG the url

Well I managed a 1.59.4 in a Rapid GT before I gave up. Had several goes but that was my only sub 2min time. 9F did feel a bit faster but I couldn't get the damn thing round that corner cleanly.

Was very drawn in by the closeness of the times and the way it came down to a perfect lap but in practice, racing The Commute on my own with no traffic was yaaaawwwwwnnn.

the feltzer is alot quicker tha i thought, havent had a chance to try it on the commute challenge but i know nittydon uses his alot and tends to be up there with the front of the pack... might have to get rid of my elegy on my second character and run a feltzer for a bit to see how i feel about it... eager to know the results now lol

One thing I have noticed is, I did do my best time with the Rapid GT but to be honest, I believe this to be a one off. I tried the Rapid in a couple other courses and I found the turning radius in this thing at full throttle to be atrocious.

The Elegy will become useful again later I think Mo-seph. The traction in that thing is amazing, case in point, try something really fast in something like downtown underground and see how a lot of cars will squeal those tires around some corners, sometimes loosing grip entirely. Then try a stock Elegy and don't even bother letting off of the gas, that thing will just hug around the corners.

I have a stock Elegy on my second char with no mods and that track is almost full throttle the entire way.
