Next year, I wonder what they will do next. LCS, or IV. If it is IV, I wonder if it will be EFLC or V. Or they will do IV and EFLC at the same time.

They got to release the mobile versions of III, VC, and SA on Vita. Maybe even a retail copy of them in a bundle.

I'm going to guess it'll be either LCS or VCS next year, then again the year after (meaning possibly LCS next year then VCS the one after) and then probably years later, they'll start on IV, then after EFLC.

T2 Recently trademarked Bully meaning it could possibly be coming to next gen consoles, so i could imagine the first one getting ported to mobile devices.

Why didn't you consider that this topic may have been moved? The topic was posted first in the V section. He just posted before it was moved.

Well, since there was no arrow icon on the main page (which means the topic has been moved), there was no clear indication that the topic was moved? But it's cool :)

OT- I don't see how mobile devices will be able to run this game, when for one, from what I have read, SA pretty much pushed the PS2 to it's limits..? Also, I have read that SA was too big for the PSP console as well?-which is why only LCS and VCS were the only two GTA's to be released on PSP? Also, from reading on here, there have been issues with people getting the game to run on Windows 8 (as well as some on Windows 7)? So, from that observation, since there are PC's that have trouble with this game, and the fact that PC's generally have higher specs than that of the I-Pad, Android, Windows Phone, I-Pod, PSP, etc. how is the game suppose to run decent on a lower spec device? Just curious on a few things there?

However, it is good to hear about older GTA's making "come backs" on newer platforms, such as the recent releases on PS3 via PSN. :)

We'll just have to wait and see, they might of (somehow) optimized it completely to work on such devices.

I am also curious to see what it will actually look and perform like.
I was about to buy vc earlier today but I would like some opinions from people who have played mobile version before buying.
Graphics aside, I just cant see playing a game that is so intricate on a touch screen..controlwise (lack of bottons).
I am sure with all the gta addicts on here a handfull of you must have some of the moble gta's how do they compare?
Are they merely a novelty or is it something you can submerg yourself in and play for 100+ hours?

The next surprise by Rockstar: the game is too big for mobile phones. The Desert and Las Venturas have to be cut from the game. To shorten the story, it is revealed that Woozie is actually Tenpenny in disguise. Carl must kill Tenpenny and break Sweet out of jail.

If someone came up to you on October 29, 2004 and told you "Kid, you'll be playing that on your phone in a few years time" what would you say? My phone back then could barely handle Snake. It's things like this that really make me appreciate the growth of technology. The vast expanse of San Andreas in my pocket. Makes you wonder what will be out in ten years time. Will we be playing IV on our phones in four? Only time will tell.

tbh GTA IV in a very optimised state, could almost run on the top tablets and phones right now. Yeah it's gonna happen eventually. I think this is Rockstars game plan to re-release all the games on mobile when the advancements in tech catch up.... and it just almost seems to fall nicely on anniversarys. Its slightly annoying they're bring SA out so early, I'd happily wait so that in years to come you could look back and all the anniversaries lined up.

Likely, as some mobile games are now starting to be on par with IV's visuals more or less. It's just that they're scaling the graphics down for older or less capable devices to run and perhaps so that you wouldn't dry out the battery in a jiffy.

I'm expecting that R* would have IV ported and released by 2017-2018, assuming that the rate of which mobile SoCs like the Tegra are capable of churning out better graphics is at a rapid pace. Space isn't much of a problem, it's the download times that would be a drag.

lol right on, btw is that your real name?

Yes, pronunciation wise we have the same name almost.

On topic:

Since I can't use a credit card to purchase things in Bangladesh from the Appstore, anyone have any idea if I can purchase an iTunes gift card to do so when the time comes? I'm sure I can but I just don't have any sources to back this claim up.

LOL, people with Windows 8 computers having trouble running SA. They aught to return their computers right away. Average every day computers are starting to be able to handle games that are equivalent to current gen (Xbox 360, and PS3). Unless we are talking compatibility issues here.

I've used SA on both 7 and 8. On Windows 7, it works just fine, but for some reason Aero is disabled when I play it. (It is the only game I have that does it, and I think FSX did it too. I'm not positive. I think its only SA. But back when I had a laptop with Vista on it a long time ago, Aero would stay enabled when I played SA. On Windows 8, I noticed a graphics bug under the water. When I look stuff under the water, when I'm above the water, it would have a jagged look. And I mean really jagged. Not the I need AA jagged.

But I hope the Android version of SA is better optimized. The Android versions of the previous games had the following bugs. (Note: May not be all Androids, as I have only played these on a Samsung Galaxy S4.)

-III and VC both had a bug where the analog steering would suddenly glitch and stick to the right for a sec causing you to crash.

-VC lagged in Little Hati. Frames were not steady. The game was smoother when I would look away from the map, say if I was by the water.

-Textures were different on VC vs iOS, PC, Xbox, and PS2. Sometimes it looked like the colors were a little messed up. I noticed slight splotches of red, blue and green. I think this has to do with the texture compression.

I will be buying SA on iOS for my iPod Touch 5g, and on Android for my Samsung Galaxy S4.

Time to buy an extended battery for my Samsung Galaxy Note N7000:

mSfNIbP0uOGRxndwAVz76DQ.jpg

PD: Why everyone is complaining about the lack of buttons? The PS2 version uses a dualshock controler that have two sticks, a D-Pad, 4 triggers and 4 buttons. In 2013, we have 5 inch+ phones, if you merge one stick with the D-Pad, and the other (which moves the camera) with the touchscreen, you can perfectly have every button in his place without problem (as did in Vice City). Also, the controls are better optimized as the Vice City ones and it adds support to external joysticks so, the experience will be amazing: Now you can fly planes, swim, race, shoot, tune cars, buy weapons, explore farm, go play games in casinos, derail trains, and much more things you did in PS2/XBOX/PC but in the bus, in an airplane, in the school, in the work or even in the bath if you have an Xperia ZL. We would need wait until December and see how Rockstar Games and War Drum Studios do its magic with this amazing game.

anyone have any idea if I can purchase an iTunes gift card to do so when the time comes?

I-Tunes gift cards are available at any Wal-mart, Target, K-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, Tom Thumb, Circle K, Shell, The Mall, etc. In short, lots of places. OR through any of the vendor websites (ie. walmart.com, Target.com, walgreens.com, tomt.com-Tom Thumb convenience store website, http://www.santarosamall.com/ for a mall website, etc.)from the list in this post. :) Hope this helps :)

Yeah, I was speaking of Compatibility issues, as even on my Windows 7 computers (one laptop and one desktop) I have to use 98 compatibility mode in order to avoid the mouse freeze issue, which if the mouse freezes, it causes the game to freeze and you have to use ctrl+alt+delete to exit via the Task Manager. Vista had this issue as well, as did XP SP3-I had this same issue on Vista as well. Also, I had this issue on my XP Pro SP3 machine-never had this issue on SP2.

@Shoumic, Lil Weasal cleared that confusion up..but, How did you get the moved topic arrow on your end, as it is not there on mine, as seen here: http://i429.photobuc...zpsc5f2efe5.jpg Just curious?

If IV could run on phones then V too. There's not much difference between them, both run on PS3/xbx360. But it's far future anyway.

You're looking at the wrong sub forum. You have to look at the sub-forum from which the topic was moved. The topic was moved from V > News, so you have to look there to see the arrow.

Look at this page, you'll find the arrow.

What about mod support? Imagine playing SA:MP on your phone! The major problem with this is the fact that Rockstar will most likely use 1.1 as a base version (1.0) so modding will be extremely difficult unless someone creates a work around for this. We already experienced how difficult it was to get mods working on both GTA 3 Mobile and GTA Vice City Mobile, if I remember correctly any car mods for GTA 3 Mobile had to be under a certain file size (1 mb if I recall).

I'm hoping to get a 2013 Nexus 7 soon, so I'll be using a PS3 controller connected through USB to play the game instead of using the akward touch screen controls.

You never know. One day the games will be old enough, and that may not matter.

I've seen many old exclusives being ported over to other systems well after their original release.

But as SA is being released this year, I wonder if anything will happen when the 10th Anniversary for SA hits next year. I can see SA going on sale, but I wonder if anything else will happen. Maybe that will be when it comes to Vita.

I love how beautiful GTA 3, VC and SA have been working on my old PC with 1600Mhz CPU, 128MB Graphic card and 384MB of RAM. In HD resolution. And now those games need 4x CPU and 2gb of Ram to work on android with low resolution :/

Just to point out, the 2013 Nexus 7 has a resolution of 1920x1200

The reason the phones need recommended specs is because phones/tablets are just as scalable as PCs are. So all reaches need to be catered for.

I really want this for the iPhone 4S, though I expect it will only be for 5 or higher.

EDIT

Had some time to think it over, and I'm sure it's going to suck. Just a quick cash boost for R*, the gameplay will be absolute ass on mobile.

I doubt the contract still stands today, i mean its been years since they were released on PSP and PS2 and i dont think the exclusivity is forever .

I see we've got one SA Mobile Fanatic already :D.

Does someone know when Rockstar announced the requirements for III and VC mobile? How many weeks before releasing these games?
