I want to show you how I imagine map of whole state San Andreas, not only the southern part (Los Santons&Blaine County):

(link to the map)

kzmo.png

Some stuff of how this look like in game

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=NiFyFrAmW1w - desert and big mountains

Spoiler
Highway to Las Venturas (just when you leave the Los Santos green area)

Spoiler
San Fierro steep streets

Spoiler
Big mountains from San Fierro side (THERE WOULD BE SOME FOREST/TOWN or something in the empty space)

Spoiler
Another photo which shows big mountains from San Fierro part of the map

How do I imagine this map?

How the map is divided (restricted areas, 5 stars)? Los Santos with Sandy Shores (only small part of the desert) separated from San Fierro by river and from Las Venturas by electric fence. San Fierro is separated from Las Venturas by big mountains and electric fences on the roads.

First of all, I only included: San Fierro, Las Venturas, main roads, big lakes, big mountains and area 51 (69?)

The map do not include those main features which should be in the actual game: Towns, forests, small mountains, villages, farmlands, deserts, deserts with mountains, smaller roads, rivers and street level in cities.

Changes to Los Santos part:

- There is no desert and the town is different next to alamo sea (was lazy to edit it)

- Mount Chiliad is moved next to San Fierro, that mountain we knew as Mount Chiliad starts long range of mountains to the north

- West coast changed into river

- Sandy Shores is moved to the south-east part of the map

- Additional green area and desert on east

- Highway from the east Los Santos actually lead somewhere

San Fierro:

- many forests

- villages

- towns

- farmlands

- mainly grass areas (forests, villages etc.)

- the lake in south part of the land should be in some forest

Las Venturas:

- casinos

- mainly desert areas

- somewhere desert mountains (like the one in San Andreas)

- area 51 (or 69)

- all that alien stuff we got could happen on those deserts

- towns

- ghost towns (small empty/destroyed towns)

- again, this part of map is mainly big desert

If this map would be used in GTA V

The number of missions would probably increase to about 150 (~50 mission each city)

EDIT: THIS TOPIC IS MOVED FROM GTA V SECTION AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE BEST TOOL TO MAKE MAP GUYS (I want the roads the same size as orginal ones)

Yes, the desert and the map would seen way bigger if there was a bigger town with a few missions and stuff to do so you actually need to use the desert. You see it in Online, everyones either in LS, Sandy Shores airfield, fort zancudo or at crate locations.

Paleto is cool but its just not doing it.

I have completely used up 'Likes' for today :/

Otherwise you have made it too good and so close to my wish for V all this time.
Many would laugh it out but on paper this simple and sweet GTA would have been my all time favourite game ever.
If this turned out to be true, ofcourse.
But, that f*cking GTAO ruined even slightest possibility even for future GTA's.
It's not online I hate particularly but the growing importance.
Anyways, great idea albeit too late and little hope.

Love your idea/post. Great map and great detail. In GTA V you feel everything was smashed into a small area into a hurry. We wanted a bigger map with lots of stuff, like the one you draw. Just to be perfect, North Yankton should be at the upper part of the map.

I think North Yankton should have been included there, somewhere further in the north and surrounded by mountains.

You know, if you actually tried playing a map of that size you'd learn very quickly there is such a thing as too big.

Plus such a game would probably take about 20 years to make if it was going to be as detailed as the V world throughout. It's been said before that the building of the map is the longest part of the process.

The problem with having a big map is having too much "wasted space". Just Cause 2 suffered from this. The map was huge but the downside was the actual lack of extensive detail and areas you remember. Sure, you have lots of space to play in but most of the time areas started to get extremely bland and repetitive. Each town I encountered in Just Cause 2 looked just like the last one I passed.

I think Rockstar nailed the size in GTA V to be honest. It's neither too big and neither too small. It's filled with so much detail that you'll miss on the first pass through but then you come back and see all the little minute details Rockstar put in just to make the world feel more fresh and alive so to speak.

Love the map and especially the desert area BUT it's enough with islands in this franchise! They need to do more landlocked maps so they can add more areas over time.

It looks stupid if land is added to the island or just suddenly more islands popping up on the map after a DLC has been installed...

It would have been cool to get all 3 cities in HD.

Maybe one day.

OP, you give me hope and inspiration, and honestly I Hope to see DLC that further pushes the boundaries of the map, or probably a DLC that includes San fierro and Las Venturas on another big land mass.... :)

That won't and CANNOT happen on current-gen by any way you look at it. Even now it's a mess with PS3/360...

on Next-Gen.. maybe if Rockstar wants but i don't think they would just negglect PS3/360 versions sadly :(

I imagine, it won't get bigger than North Yankton expansion... if they ever DO make a map DLC

Not gonna happen, no way in hell they'll add so much to the map.

This is wishful thinking (foolish at that). If you wan't San Fierro and Las Venturas so badly then go play San Andreas. It's stupifying that even two months after launch people can't accept that this is simply not going to happen.

You must be silly and have no common sense.

Yes, a map that big would look pretty realistic in game, it would definitely feel like a whole state.
BUT.. it is ridiculous to even think they would make a map that big and that it would have anywhere near the amount of detail and quality it has now.
Also, it would take Rockstar at least about two more years just to create that map, not even thinking about all the PEDs, missions etc..

And that would NOT be a fun map to play on. Trust me, you would be the first one to complain about there being no fast travel option (though there is via cabs) to just spawn wherever you want to spawn because you hate driving 20 minutes from one place to another every time.

So forget it, this is SA as you'll get it for the time being- Enjoy it while you can and stop wishing for something that's not just overly optimistic but is completely unreasonable.

Oh.. forgot about the electric fences and all that other sh*t.. for real?

With more small cities, and details it could be amazing something like that, HUGE...
But it would need 5 CD's.

God damn, this would've been a good map. Hell, I'd rather have IV graphics with IV framerate to have a map like this as opposed to what we have now. What we have now feels too open. The countryside all feels like parks. Nothing isolated or desolate.

The irony is, that's exactly how the map is.

It's huge but there is really nothing outside of Los Santos and it's a boring map that is pushed to the limit on graphics and scenery.

You could take plane flights. With a map being as big as this then flying will actually mean something and not just going for a joyride
