Nice shots :^:

Once the 1986 Caprice is released I'd recommed you to replace the 1987 civil one with it, so there's not that many 1987 Caprices around (considering you will use the police & taxi versions).

Thanks! Indeed! That will help to get more variation of cars on the streets.

I'd say keep both cars in the pack. Caprice was the most sold vehicle of America for many years in a row, not to mention ''Car of the year'' many times. So several Caprices in the pack, yet minor differences, keeps the reality.

It wouldn't be reallistic to have that many, at least with the variety of vehicles so far. You would just see Caprices rolling down the street. It would be nice if there were other models that use the same body like the Oldsmobile Delta 88, though.

@Skyline, just out of curiosity, could a modeled m240 or similar guns, added to an helicopter model, work as the mounted machine guns of the Annihilator?

Yea, actually this is quite easy to do. Thinking of doing the Dauphin II of the USCG with M240Bs. Would be something different than all those Blackhawks for once. And they were in service with the USCG in the 80's already.

And I really like that helicopter :p I used it a lot in a game (one of the first I got) called Search and Rescue 4.

I think Brougham and perhaps rust versions would make a "visible" difference between the Caprices. I agree that the standard '86 and '89 Caprices look too much alike to notice any difference. So I think it's better to have for example a Brougham version of the '86 and a standard version of the '89 etc. I think it will turn out fine eventually. I hope there will be a Delta 88 as well!

How is the progress on the taxi, Compeast?  :D

I still think it could get repetitive, but I guess it will be cool until there's something else to replace them with.

By  other hand, a while back I made some realistic NYC textures for the LTD taxi. From what I've seen, seems that before 1988-1989, the taxis didn't have the typical 'NYC TAXI' written in the door but they were like small companies, whose paintjob setup varied.

The thing is that, after doing a couple 'creative' designs, I ran out of ideas and I'm still thinking what to do next... Also, I'm planning to change the commercials of the roof extra taxi sign to real ones.

Can't believe you've missed this one!

http://www.gta4-mods...ider-115-f22213

You gotta delete the vehiclegeneric textures in the .wtd though. Author forgot to do so, meaning it will keep using the vehiclegeneric textures in the .wtd and not the ones from your game. So edited window tint or license plate won't change if you won't delete it.

Thanks for the recommendation! Added the Alfa-Romeo!

Loving the pack so far :) Would GTA IV 1.0.7.0 be best for this or don't you know yet?

I like this idea! Maybe even have some ads on billboards and bus stops from the 80s for an even more 80s feel.

That would be a sh*tload of work, it's not easy to find real billboard signs from back then, and even less to recreate them. Gotta admit that it would be a nice addition, though.

For vehicles this does not matter. =^)

So far this pack is going to be awesome!

Anyway, I have some vehicles suggestion that might fit the theme perfectly:

-1987-1991 Honda CR-X http://www.gta4-mods...crx-1991-f20787

-1970 Datsun 240Z http://www.gta4-mods...-updated-f23204

and a Lamborghini Countach (if there's available).

Would look great! But indeed, don't know if that's really a possibility. At least the bus stop signs should be do-able.

Thanks for your suggestions! Problem with the Datsun is that the file sizes are huge!

I added the Honda CRX to the list!

Yes, the Datsun file is very large (about 7 Mo), and I think that wouldn't be fit with your "high quality and low size" goal.

Anyway, it seems that you've lacking some super cars. I saw several cars that might be fit for your mod:

- 1985 Lamborghin Countach LP500 http://gtamania.ru/l...85/164-1-0-4165

- 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO http://gtamania.ru/l...gto/151-1-0-702

I also found a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow here: (http://gtamania.ru/l..._0/181-1-0-5658). It's made from 1980 until 1993 and this one was listed as 1989-1990, but I didn't see the difference between the 1980-1988 version so I think you want to add them as a replacement for Cognoscenti.

@bundi2408

I think I'll add the super cars as "added cars" because all the 2-door car slots are already filled.

So, the super cars will still spawn but then as added cars.

The Rolls-Royce is beautiful, but would cause the taxi bug unfortunately. Same for that Countach. The other '88 Countach has a low quality LOD model.

The Ferarri 288 GTO, I don't know. Might do.

------

I'll add the added cars to the car list a.s.a.p.!

@RealNewYork

My bad, I just realized that both files are too large after I unpack it.

I saw few weeks ago you put some of jpm's Ferrari mods (365 and Testarossa) photos in your Flickr, but after I checked it again, it went missing. Did you changed your mind and decided you don't want to use those model?

Also, probably you should list all the cars that will be replaced with in the first page.

One more thing, are you sure you want to add the 1989 beater Caprice in your list? It seems too brand new yo be an 80's beater IMO. :/

The Fishbowl on the Cabby slot and the 1988 one on the Bus slot. It causes no problems really, don't know if it causes problems when doing missions?

As long as the Minivan doesn't involved in a mission, it doesn't cause any problems. :)

you can add the 1991 or 1993 Chevrolet Caprice by Compeast to the Pack ! We can now call the 90's pack !

I think they are many 90's cars released on GTA IV.

Err... dude, this topic is about cars that released from 1989 and below (If you asked me why the Cutlass Ciera and Foxy 'Stang are included, I think that's because it's similar to the 1989 year release counterpart), and that Caprice was introduced in 1991.

Anyway, maybe you could add your own topics about 90's car pack on this forums though. :)

I don't know yet. But if I add the beater Caprice, I'd put it on a rather rare 4-door car, so you won't see that many.

I don't know what to do with exotic cars yet, so I chose to remove them for now. I like the Daytona 365 model though!

I hope someone will make a 90's car pack. I probably won't do it because I don't know that much about 1990's traffic. I really want the car pack to stay 1980's!
