R* should add getting busted and fix respawning

Getting busted doesn't exist online.  Maybe they planned to add it later I don't know but I feel it should be there.  Regardless,  I think this along with the ability to surrender would add some good elements to gameplay if added.  I also think respawning after player kills should be adjusted. Let me speak on getting busted first.

 

Getting busted - This happens when you resist until the cops waste you.  Once wasted you will respawn in front of the nearest police station. The number of stars you have when you get busted would bring about different results.  Something like getting busted with one star will be a small fine and you'll lose the weapon you had equipped at the time.  Getting busted with 5 stars will be a huge fine and you'll lose your vest as well as all major weapons (sniper rifles and explosives).  Some ppl are against losing weapons but this adds the needed threat to getting busted making being wanted waaay more intense and fun.

 

Surrendering - This is for those who have a problem with losing weapons.  You surrender by either stopping your vehicle and not moving or standing still when on foot with no weapons equipped and letting them arrest you.  Basically when you gain a wanted level regardless of how many stars it is the cops wont shoot to kill like now as long as you don't shoot at them.  Instead they will look to arrest you.  This means they will foot chase and try and take you down physically and cuff you. In the trailer I saw a guy getting chased on foot and I also seen guys getting searched and put in cop cars but nothing like this happened in the game.

 

When you surrender they'll put you in the police car and drive you to the nearest station.  Once there a short cutscene will play of them walking you into the station like when you're walking into your apartment.  You then spawn outside the station.  Here is the cool part about this option.  Once busted and put in the cop car you'll get 3 choices similar to the taxi ride.

 

1) Skip to the police station - A cost will be added to your fine and you will respawn in front of the station.

 

2) See the ride to the station through - No cost added to your fine and once at the station you will respawn in front.

 

3) Request for a rescue - This is where the fun happens.  Choose this option and Lester will send ppl to rescue you.  The cost of the rescue will be determined by how many stars you surrendered with.  The number of stars you had when surrendering determines the difficulty of the rescue as well as the price.  In other words one star will just be you in a cop car with two cops but 5 stars will be you in a riot van being escorted by lots of cops.  This option will of course cost you but its a worthy price to pay for those who don't want to lose weapons.

 

Online will basically work the same.  The difference will be that instead of Lester sending NPC's to rescue you he will send a text to the lobby offering an amount (which you pay) to anyone who rescues you.  Your blip will then blink blue and red.  Ppl then can come to your rescue by killing the cops and opening the door to the vehicle and letting you out.  Once free the $$$ is then automatically deducted from your account and given to the accounts of whoever opened the door.  Money can then be shared if multiple ppl helped.

 

I think this would be a cool addition online as well as offline.  Not only being rescued but rescuing others.  Like say Franklin got busted I can get Michael and Trevor and go rescue him.  Online would be even more fun.  I know this is far fetched as the current wanted system is far from this but one can still dream.  :pp  

 

 

 

Respawning after death - When normal peds kill you then you should respawn outside the nearest hospital. If a cop kills you then you should be busted and spawn outside the police station.  If a player kills you then how fast you mash the button should determine how close you respawn to the person that killed you. So if you mash quickly you will respawn near them. Mash slowly and you respawn further away.  If you dont mash at all and let the meter fill on its own then you will respawn at the nearest hospital. I think this will fix spawn killing and add more dynamics to respawning.  Seems more sensible to respawn at the hospital or police station IMO.  Thought?

I don't support losing weapons, however i do like the idea of picking the handcuffs, punching the cops in the back of the head and escaping.

 

I like the idea of spawning away from them but.

You only lose the last weapon equipped if you surrender and if your friends free you then you don't lose any.

If they ever add the enforcer (free Vigilante DLC :O), it would be awesome giving up only to be busted out by crew mates...

I just meant in general.. I like the ideas, arrests and surrendering but once you start losing weapons than i'm out. For you, 18k on a sniper may not be that much but it is for the average player.

Respawning after death is great, but it needs to be better to avoid an exploit. What if they add the option to spawn in your apartment after you die by another player ? It'll cost a lot of money, but It could work when someone spawn kill you.

Great ideas but would like if it was just losing all ammo like on single player. Having to buy heavy weapons again would make them never be used.

no way lose your guns and ammo do you work for rockstar they already are making things cost too much don't give em any ideas.  Some of the weapons cost over 10k once you got busted and lost 50k in guns you'll regret your idea

No I wont bcuz I will just surrender and have my buddies free me and not lose anything.

Great ideas but would like if it was just losing all ammo like on single player. Having to buy heavy weapons again would make them never be used.

Thanks and losing ammo from all major weapons could work too.

I don't think you read the full post.  You can surrender and only lose the last weapon equiped (you can equip a knife and then surrender) or surrender and on the way to the station have a friend fee you and lose nothing.

Alternate version I came up with.

 

Cops at 1 star arrest you without shooting, like the SP cops, only you cannot break away. They drive you to the police station, where like the OP said, during the drive others can help you escape. If the cops reach the police station, all your weapons and ammo will be transported to your apartment rather than taken away permanently, and you spawn inside the prison with just an orange jumpsuit, where you have to bribe NPC inmates for weapons to get out solo, bribe the cops for a bigger fee to be let out, or when broke you could trigger a mission for other players who will then receive a few bucks for helping you extract with a helicopter or by breaking down the front gate with a car.

 

After returning to your apartment, you will auto equip your original clothes, guns and ammo again, and you will not have lost anything apart from the inconvenience of being put in prison by the cops or a few hundred bucks from buying a mini SMG from the inmate.

Fine, so we all go suggest our own vission of how spawnkilling should be stopped?

 

How about, asap as you get killed by anyone without firing a shot yourself, you respawn inside a Jaeger.

Nah,  ppl will just leave the game and spawn back in their crib.  Like I said just equip a knife before you surrender and that's all you'll lose.  The prison part is kinda cool tho.  I actually came up with an idea about that too. :cool:   It was for bad sport tho.  It can be translated to go with being busted tho.  Maybe after a certain amount of busts or get busted with your blip red you spawn in the prison.  You then have to spend one GTA day there or have friends break you out.

Why don't you ppl read before responding?  There are multiple ways within the idea to avoid losing weapons.  smh

How does this sound to anyone:- 

Arrest & Rescue Mini-Mission:-

Upon being arrested and being transported to a Police Station (have it one of the more main-stream ones rather than just any PS) - and have this transport sequence similar to when you use a Taxi Service - a note in the bottom left appears - "USERNAME has been arrested". During this transportation, an option pops up asking if you want to request a rescue - minimum fee of $5,000 up to, say, $15,000.
If the arrestee chooses this option, another notification will appear - "USERNAME has requested a rescue. Find USERNAME and return them to their apartment to collect $X,XXX amount". 

A yellow circular blip will now appear denoting the location of this player, and any of the players on the map could attend this location, but only the players that don't die will receive the payment/ a cut if more than one player helps in the rescue. 
Then all the rescue team/ player will need to do is get the arrested player back to their apartment, or garage if not owned - with 4 stars - and if successful, they'll receive the payout. 

To make this more difficult, you'd preferably need to equip both cops in the transport with perhaps, the AP Pistol (32 damage, just shy of the AK Assault Rifle but much faster ROF), laser-precision accuracy and extra health/ armour. 

I would however, limit it to arrests only being possible with 1 star, perhaps 2 stars. 

Yay/ nay?

Remember when rockstar "fixed" the spawning from other player kills so you would not spawn so close to them... I guess 10 feet farther down the road than you usually would spawn is farther.

I like the concept.  How about these changes?  Make it work like the bounty feature.  You get the prompt on the screen asking do you want a rescue for $5,000.  If you say yes then Lester will know of your capture via police scanner and will send a text to the lobby just like a bounty.  Your blip will turn yellow so ppl know where you're at.  From there instead of ppl having to takes you back to your apartment they just need to kill the cops and open the door and let you out.  Once free the $$$ is then deducted from your account and added to the accounts of whoever shot the cops and/or open the door to let you out (similar connection to robbing armor trucks). $$$ will be added evenly so if say two ppl rescued you (1 shot the cops and 1 opened the door) they would split the $5,000.

Yep, sounds like a simplified alternative. 

I just had the "transport from A to B with 4 stars" to make it that little bit more challenging and fun for the players. 

At least when you have a bounty, you could go off radar, join a random job etc then back out (teleport), get in a good position to defend yourself, and that you should generally be a better shot than the AI. I just think it'd be too easy if you only need to kill two cops and set the arrestee free to get the cash. 
However, that may be more viable if it's a proper convoy... Add the mental state into it. When a player is red, they are transported in Riot vans under protection of several SWAT team officers, for example.

As a moderator on another large forum, and an admin on another, I actually prefer people to make use of the search functions rather than simply create a new thread. 
However, the response was mostly not necessary. Having said this, the user could've been offline for a while, and upon returning, used the USERNAME > My Content option in the top right of the forums pages and wanted to reply.

Pointless, everyone would just die all the time so they dont lose their million dollars of guns and ammo.  Thats how ive always played gta story modes, never get busted, always die. I hate losing my guns, very annoying, lol!

I like the added element of the mental state.  That could also jack the price up on the prompt you get so if your dot is white the offer would be $5,000 but if your dot id red then the offer would be $10,000.  Nice addition man.

 

I'd rather get shot by the po-ho's than have to get busted, and lose my guns.

If they shoot you then you spawn in front of the police station with your vest and a weapon taken.  Might as well equip a mele weapon and let them arrest you and take that or have a friend rescue you.

I agree with the busting thing, but not with your respawning idea.

Respawning should work like this.

Prompts appear at the bottom of the screen

'A' / 'X' - Respawn Faster
'B' / 'O' - Nearest Hospital
'X' / '□'- Apartment/Garage (prompts selection box)
'Y' / '∆' - Personal Vehicle (prompts selection box)

There are alternative actions so you don't lose weapons but I'm willing to bet you have more than enough $$$ online to just buy new weapons.
