So I decided to present a challenge to the users of the topic, the challenge is:

  • "Intriging, interesting, creative and original photographs of AI. This could be a guy smoking to a a fight breaking out in the street. The winner is the one with the best shot.
  • Also, your images have to create a scene or match a scene.
  • You need to also explain why you used/created the image. And what you were trying to show.
  • No selfies
  • No pointless custom cars unless help create the scene
  • No stupid photos (glitches, online crazyness)

I'll put some crappy examples below I knocked up quickly so you can sort of see what I expect.

Tried to give it a mobster/detective vibe to it. I think it came out quite well.

rzlDWmL.jpg

This image to me shows depression/desperation. A hooker standing out in the dark, lonely and cold streets, warmed and seemingly protected by a dim street light.

Pkwjtiw.jpg

I used this photo to show some cops when they're not on patrol, to show how they are laid back when off the job. Just like most other people.

ng3ckvo.jpg

This one is my personal favourite, I like how the girl is looking right at the camera. The night looks dark and miserable, but she seems to be lighting up the image, I've also used some focus effects to give some depth to the image. I think the subtle effect of the house lamp in the background compliments the image.

QXcSS0c.jpg

This one was literally captured in the moment, no planning or timing. I saw a pedestrian get hit by a car, drag the driver out and start wailing on him. I managed to capture one of the many brutal blows captured.

I'm trying to find artistic ways to present cars. I'm a little bored of the landscape and sunset pics  :/

jeep.jpg

I've also been playing around with blurring the images in photoshop, gives it less of a cellphone-picture feeling.

Found the crescent moon in an awesome position between these trees, it was moving so fast I had to take the pic quickly.

Probably better off starting your own topic rather than kind of hijacking someone elses.

You'll more than likely get more on topic replies.

This crew (below), much like the name suggests has a photography theme and has two full time professional photographers in it, as well as people that work in the photographic industry. Might be worth scanning the crew snapmatic page?

Cheers! We need to get them selfies banned... We started a system of any crew member that does one get hunted down by the rest of the crew to increase the kill death ratio lol

So I decided to present a challenge to the users of the topic, the challenge is:

  • You need to also explain why you used/created the image. And what you were trying to show.

If you need to explain what you were trying to show, it's not a good picture. A good shot never needs words to get the idea across.

The subtle ones too ahdere to the same principle in my opinion. Let's say I'm taking a picture of a man frustrated by the amount of work he has left that day or a father looking at his sons predicament bemused and the photo doesn't convey that concept visually and needs words to explain it, then I've done a terrible job.

Catch my drift?

Don't want to be rude, but I don't think to bring Photoshop is a good thing.
What makes this topic so great is we've got what the best GTA V has to offer, graphic-wise.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Photoshop, for my job I even use it everyday.
But, those kind of screenshots should belong to a dedicaced topic, no?

Still, the "photoshoped" screenshots are almost all really amazing (deep of field and bokeh, I love you).

When I'd agree there's truth in that, sometimes you need to tell people what you were going for, as photos are all about interpretation.

Challenge accepted MagzGTA. I'm getting bored of landscape now and I think now's a good time to take pictures with more life in them.

This last one is just a bonus. Shows how affective a photo can be if you give it some depth

Another thing I love about the game is how the environments change depending on time of day.

Wow, absolutely stunning work! Your depth of field processing is coming on in leaps and bounds. Some of those look real. The woman in front of the tour bus and the old woman - amazing!

Really inspiring..

For all its flaws, rockstar did make a beautiful game.
