LIBERTY CITY, NEW YORK and SANTA MONICA IS HERE!

1988 MCI TC40-102A CLASSIC

Extreme Makeover...

Yes there enough changes, I consider this scratch made...nearly. Parts like seats, windows and wheels had been re-used. The front end also been re-used but heavily modified. The model's overall proportion had been corrected.

EDIT: In tandem I am also making TC40-102A aka Classic both hopefully will be release together.

Compeast already converted my Santa Monica bus, so Im focusing more on New York Transit Authority/MTA like this one below. Although Santa Monica version will be made (notice the grille is still present) just in case we can start modding cars on GTAV

Busy making quick fix on the wagon, but I made some progress. I simply took the doors from the old one and just resized and lined up the windows. The lines are no longer modelled, it will be normal mapped hopefully with rivets. The seats and some of the hand rails can be re used but the interior had to be re done so the geometry lined up with the exterior (mainly for deformation)

One biggest problem is body is not paintable because of tricky uv mapping layout (in fact nobody bothered repainting my bus) This bus can be easily painted to any livery.

I've found a site with references of the bus, from different lines operating in NYC: http://www.thebergen...bus/1988mci.php

Thanks roadrunner, it's a big help :)

edit: don't need to delete the second door unless it's an express bus lol.

Thanks Nik,

doing the interior for the classic, the seats are based on GM models, so I can simply used the fishbowl seats then do a minor modifications (lower polycount too)  the polycount is lower than fishbowl for about 4000 (haven't performed clean up yet)

Will you try to make the 60-foot Classic?

Not sure yet, once it's done maybe I'll let someone convert it for me.

Ok after getting sidelined, im sort of back working on them...

Spends a few hours just researching., a brave or stupid move, they are getting sort of 3d undercarriage (both fishbowl and classics are virtually identical). Tough finding a good reference, the only reference I got a few framed from Speed and a corgi model from ebay.

Undercarriage, trying to make it close as possible, dont have to be super accurate...reference are limited. Finding a reference for a rear axle is none existent. The axle is based what I seen from speed, some odd looking unimog type axle. The corgi model looks more conventional. http://www.ebay.ca/i...=item2c782f0067

Now at least it looks better  when doing some jumps :D

w00t found a good undercarriage shot from a movie Best Men, ironically, it used the same prop bus from Speed!
