Wish we could toss them a donut to calm them down, jeez, previous GTAs they would arrest you, GTA V they're murdering you...I've been chilling in a chaotic environment with no prior wanted stars and my guns not out and they just say "there he is...or don't look at me like that" and whatever rhetoric they blabber, instant one or 2 star.

"They're fine"

"No they're not."

"Yes they are."

"No they're not."

And so on, you're a criminal for looking and you will die accordingly.

Fun at times, can be a pita but.

Maybe it's to lighten your conscience for gunning them down?

I think Carl Johnson left them this way.

I think Carl Johnson left them this way.

With the amount of mayhem I caused back on GTA:SA, this seems like a very possible explanation.

They arrest you in single player.
Online they just shoot.

i agree, cops are too sensitive.... also NPCs. i bump into 1 NPC, everyone scatters... another NPC tries to attack me, i punch them... cops come... i run (automatic 2 star)... they shoot to kill. annoying.

my suggestion:

* = mild pursuit

** = aggressive pursuit, tazer/stun & arrest

*** = shoot to kill

etc....

would be awesome if you could actually buy donuts at the 24/7 stores to throw at the boys in blue

I'd pay for that DLC

I think it'd be cool to have the option of arrest and then have another player bust you out, but other than that I don't mind how the cops act in the game.

Why? For realism. Haven't you been paying attention to the news? Dog shootings, executions by drunken cops, roadside cavity searches? Sounds psychopathic to me. F*ck the police

Yeah, or the legendary 'cop rams you and you get wanted level' ordeal.

Not to mention, police can always ruin any fun you're trying to have while Online.

Hmm... some posts have evidently been deleted from this thread in the last 10 minutes. Somebody must be sensitive.

Here's what I think of cops: hostis humani generis

Considering you’ve probably murdered at least a couple of thousand people it makes sense for them to go in guns-blazing rather than trying the non-lethal route. So I really don’t mind about their aggressiveness but still I’m not a huge fan of GTAO cops.

My wishes:

- Not getting wanted stars when cops ram into you (especially when they’re chasing someone else).

- No more magic cops seeing you in subway tunnels or other impossible sightings.

- Ditch the auto-wanted stars from Simeon’s I/E vehicles (keep them for the HP I/E vehicles though).

- Lower police attention from PvP fights.

TBH overall I think GTAV’s wanted system is the weakest one in the whole series. Not saying the cops are too challenging or difficult, but losing them is SO tedious a lot of the time.

It's to make up for lack of AI and proper spawning.

If you honk enough at a cop car, they'll get out and murder you.

We live in a police state, what do you expect? In a country where an officer seems to think he has the power to give you what ever command and you must obbey, why wouldn't they make police in a violent video game violent as well? Hell they even added chem trails to the sky. They want reallism...

Most people would never be busted out. My perfect GTA:O doesn't involve being trapped by myself in a confined space. It doesn't involve being teleported halfway across the map every time I die. And it definitely doesn't involve losing all my ammo along with my car every time I get within arm's reach of a police officer.

Sometimes there's good reasons why they don't do these things.

I once joined a free mode, got a car from my garage and started driving do LSC and about halfway there i noticed I had a 2 star wanted level.

For no reason at all.

I wish it was a GTA IV style lobby selection, where you could set preferences for private lobbies. Sure, some stuff would be restricted so it didn't break the game so easily (Ex. Robbing a store), but it would allow people to have fun doing whatever without those annoying speedhacks on those AI police. Seriously, they are NOT faster than my Entity...

Oh that one's easy, the cop doesn't want to get fired/sued for careless driving whilst on duty, so him and his partner blame it on you instead, I could actually imagine this happening in real life.
