For starters, only reply to this topic if you are planning on getting a next gen console. This is a debate about GTA, not the consoles themselves.

I am primarily talking about the GTA Online aspect of the game. If it came out in the Spring for next gens, would you get it?

Possible improvements could include more than 16 players in a lobby, a more active world (more cars spawn, animals, etc), economy, more missions and just a smoother experience in general.

After spending $80 on GTAV for the 360 and being disappointed (its not a bad game, I just had really high expectations), I would not get it on release. I would wait a few weeks and see how the game flowed first, as the current gen game had really bad first impressions.

I think I would if the graphics were a significant improvement, otherwise no.

Doubt it. Only second time buying this game will be for the PC. No sense in buying it twice with not being able to mod it a second time.

Only if they offer online as it's own game.

Meaning I don't want to have to buy the entire game again just to play online. I've already beat the campaign mode, but if they put GTA online in the PS or Xbox store for like $15-$20, I'd get it...

Sure, why not. I like this game and better fps/graphics would be nice.

$ is no problemo

Depends solely on how much I still play when I eventually switch over to the new console.

Exactly. I would like to play it on PS4, but how much does it still give me in a few months? What kind of DLC will they bring out (casino/villa/heists)? How are the graphics on PS4? Are a lot of the memory issues something from the past (no cars or all the same cars) on the new platform? My garage is full of cars and will it give enough pleasure to keep me going?

This all depends in me buying the game on next-gen.

That you have to pay for online is not something I like (a Sony issue).

A GTA game on next gen would be the only reason I'd buy a next gen console anytime in the next year or so. Until they do bring on out, I'm not getting XB1 OR PS4.

If they did next year, I would buy the XB1 in a heart beat.

I'll probably be buying it on both Xbox One and PC to cover all my friends.

If they initially released it for next gen, I'd be forced to buy it.

To answer your question, no.

No.

In a parallel universe I MIGHT have bought it for PC too, but not two copies for 2 consoles. As it looks, it`s not worthy the 60 bucks for a second copy for PC.

I am, and have always been, a GTA nut - so my expectations were rightly high.

Despite being terribly disappointed with the core mechanics I confess that I would probably buy a next gen GTA, even if it only constituted a graphical polish and additional depth of game world.

Having said that, I think that my friends will stop playing GTA: O soon, because they are not as fanatical as me about GTA's, and as a solo experience, the game deteriorates considerably. So I'd probably buy the next gen version but I might not be playing it a year down the line.

depends if the game has evolved online enough, they will probably realease a load of dlc at the same time to tempt us into buying on next gen,i probably would seeing as the game will obviously look even better, ill prob have a long break from the game before then aswell so that would tempt me even more.

No, but I'd buy it on PC if I could transfer my save game.

Absolutely, the graphics could even be improved further on the new consoles.

Not for next gen consoles, but I will be buying it for PC if they allow me to transfer my ps3 mp character. Can't see why they wouldn't, otherwise what was the point of all this bother with the cloud saving? If transfer is impossible, however, then I probably won't get it because I can't be arsed to start anew.

I will most likely get it for ps4 as i can see myself playing V and online well into the future much like i did with GTAIV and would prefer to not have to fire up another console each time i want to play it.

Depends on the PS4 improvements.

Still the best game available today, so it deserves a next gen chance.

Do good graphics make a game less boring, then?

I have Xbox One pre-ordered from the MS Store and it will be delivered on Day One, I was just told via email.

I would purchase it HOWEVER it will not be for at least 2 to 3 years because they want to sell as many GTA:5s as possible. If they were to offer GTA:Online as a solo downloadable product it would kill GTA:5 sales.

Down the line, I strongly believe they will release GTA:Online as a separate downloadable game for $59.99 that will include previous cities and Los Santos and will allow you to transfer your character over.

This being the case, I will be playing it because of the upgraded graphics. I just wouldn't hold your breath as this will take years to roll out.
