Crash Bandicoot. Those games were so fun back then. The franchise isn't as good because of the recent instalments nowadays, though. I also played the original MGS on the PS1 when I was quite young; I loved MGS then and I love it now.

Favourite computer games as a child:

Atari tennis - so simple but amazing in the day.

Home computer - zx spectrum in 1982 - any game was great but best I enjoyed was prob Jet Set Willy.

Coin op - when time was related to how good you were not how much money you put in - has to be Defender. I believe it was one of the first games to have Rom. All time hall of fame ! Not reset when machine turned off.

I believe it was amazing because it was done by Activision and not Atari. :)  Great f*cking game...loved it.

Even though I was in my teens when arcade/video games hit the world, I'm going to go with:

-Arcade:  Night driver because it was a cool sit down cabinet.  Hook and Ladder being a close second.

nightdriver_cockpit.jpg

-Atari2600: Adventure.

Adventure%20(1980)%20(Atari).png

-Computer/Apple ][: Jump Jet.  Hard Hat Mack a very close second.

*I can't believe this is the only image I could find for JumpJet

Of all time it would have to be Mario Kart 64. Hearing the words "Welcome to Mario Kart!" still brings a smile to my face, that game was my obsession back in the day.

Computer game, it would have to be Transport Tycoon. I must have started a thousand games in there, always reaching the top level and starting again. God I loved that game.

:^: I miss Transport Tycoon. It was the first simulation game I played and one of the best tycoon games ever made imo (right now I can only think of one series that was better, and that's Rollercoaster Tycoon)

Best strategy game ever.

aw sh*t I remember that game.

but when I played it, they called it Mob Rule.

it's the exact same game though.

I think it had different names depending on which country it was released in. I think it was Street Wars in the UK and Mob Rule in North America.

I've played all those games in my childhood too (except for Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry and Phantasmagoria). I'm happy Gabriel Knight 1 is getting a remake next year...

Anyway, how could I forget the Quest For Glory series... Loved it as a kid and my favourite was QfG V. It was awesome!!

The entire Need For Speed series prior to Carbon, had a bundle with all of them for PC, oh the good ol' 2005 days of PC gaming. When digital distribution wasn't mainstream yet.

I still play it every now and again when I get the itch. I have yet to complete it though. I can never get past Lightning Peaks.   :/

I can't remember the last time I've played RCT 1 or 2. And I've never completed either of them. I have completed RCT 3 though.

I wonder if there will ever be a RCT 4.... I miss the series man!

Same here. I just bought RCT3 Platinum off Amazon. Fun stuff. In 96 I got some 50 pack of CDs for ky computer which contained Doom and Wolfenstein so those would be up there.

RCT
SimCity
Trophy Bass
The Incredible Machine - these games are a bunch of fun.
Age of Empires was a huge one for me, my first experience in online gaming. I played RM but Cho Wars were my thing, if anybody knows what those are, cheers :D
From there I went to Runescape until it went 3d.
Took a break for awhile then began WoW when it was just vanilla - those were some fun times. Playing with friends that had moved away.

Now I will be getting back into, or starting to for the first time really, PC gaming. I'll be building mine this Friday. Woo!

Ever since that game a tiny part of me always thinks someone is about to throw up whenever I hear them cough.
