Okay so this came to mind when I was at the second hand store looking for DVDs I happend to spot a computer game that I remember playing as a young child. So I thought I would ask what were your favorite computer game(s)? When I was about 4 or 5 I loved the "spy fox" or "put-put" games. This was when I was 4 or 5 then we got a "new to us" computer police quest swat came with it I was totally addicted to it

When I was a kid basically LEGO games. I didn't almost play videogames, anyway. I had various LEGO Island, the Legoland, one of explorers whose title I don't remember and another of racing, Lego Racers 2 I think.

Then I started getting more serious games. First, I got Search & Rescue 4, a rescue helicopter simulator that I really liked and a sailing one.

I played this all the time in primary school. If I remember the computer labs used to have it installed. That was about 93/94.

I started playing pc games in 97, and some of my early favourite pc games were Tomb Raider, Half-Life, Carmageddon, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Heart of Darkness, Dungeon Keeper, Baldur's Gate and of course, GTA, to name a few.

But before that I used to play games on either my SEGA console or my Gameboy.

My favorite game by far back in the day, which I played most often was Sonic the Hedgehog.

I remember me and my bro also played some sort of WWF game together (one with Shaun Michaels, Bret Hart, Owen Hart (who was later killed when a stunt went wrong at one of the wrestling events. I remember watching it happen), Yokozuma, Undertaker, Vader, Goldust, some clown dude etc). Good times

I remember proclaiming that Driver was the best game ever made.

I never even got to own it until the late years of the PS1.

I know we had a Sega and that I played Sonic, but I can honestly not remembering me playing it, which probably means it was too long ago and I was too young.

I can remember playing the SNES, my favorite games there were Biker Mice from Mars, Tiny Toons Wacky Sports, Battletoads, TMNT: Turtles in Time and Street Racer/Rock'n'Roll Racing.

But at the same time I was already playing PC games as well, Carmageddon 2, GTA 2, Urban Chaos, Messiah, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Baldur's Gate, Fallout.

I'd have to say Carmageddon 2 though, my friends came over to play it when I was younger (they weren't allowed to/didn't have a good enough PC for it/didn't know how to download stuff) and we just laughed out loud at the screen of the random sh*t that happened.

D&D: Pool of Radiance (actually that whole series) and Zak McKraken (sp?).

Some of the answers here make me feel old.

Microsoft 3D Movie Maker, I made some films with that which would be considered "so bad they're good" by today, like this thing I made when I was 8.

Oh my god, this movie is terrible looking back.

The first game I ever played was Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES, so that. I also recall playing a Thomas The Tank Engine game for the SNES, did anyone else ever play that?

SkiFree, Minesweeper (only won once or twice out of hundreds of games), and Space Cadet Pinball.

Oh, and this too.

New Zealand Story on C64

and a bit later:

Eye of the Beholder on Amiga (I still have the big pile of maps I had to draw as I traipsed through the dungeons. No automaps those days!)

I've probably been raised badly because my childhood games (when I was 4-10) were games like

  • Quake I and II
  • Doom (both Quake and Doom on a Windows 95 computer...)
  • GTA III/San Andreas
  • Serious Sam: The First/Second Encounter

However, I did have some kid games too. Mostly on PS2.

  • Sly Cooper-franchise
  • Ratchet and Clank (demo on Sly 2)
  • Gran Turismo 3?

Quake was awesome. I'll always remember the sound effects from that game. But my first ever stand-alone disc game I played Multiplayer in was Serious Sam... it was one great way to learn English Internet slang when being 6-8, lol. Fun fact is, I typed good enough English to pass as a person aged 13+... pretty good for a person who isn't native English and was around 7, eh?

Anyway, my all-time favorite "child" games are Sly 2 and 3. I wouldn't really be ashamed to play them even still, but sadly my PS2 has gone to technology heaven.
