I liked GTA IV's LC way more than V's Los Santos. GTA V's map was probably one of my least favorite in the series, it just didn't feel anywhere near as alive and detailed as Liberty City was, not to mention the actual city of Los Santos is really small, which is a big problem for me because the city is usually where I spend about 95% of my time in the game. That's my second biggest problem with Los Santos other than not being as detailed it felt like the game focused on Los Santos, even though it takes up a really small portion of the map. If they were going to go with GTA V being based more in the urban city they should have just made LS huge and not have made a desert or a forest area, or have the rural section of the map take a larger role in the game.

I actually don't have a problem with the size of LS. It just feels dead to me. Also they done a poor job of representing LA's urban sprawl IMO.

Yep, doesn't feel alive with the hipsters on every street.

Did I just see someone say V has better random events?

Is this real life? Am I dreaming? Where am I?

HELP LMAO

Anyway, in my opinion LC trumps LS i immersibility. I think the LS in V is just...strange. I don't like the ped activity at all. I think talking to peds suck, since they talk back and that's more stale dialogue. In IV, Niko the immigrant, would bump into tons of people on the street that didn't know him and they would ignore him because people don't talk to strangers lol.

I like how the cops make remarks about Niko whenever he walks by them and I like that the peds buy from vendors/newstands. If you observe long enough some will buy newspapers and cigarettes.

For me LC is a city that simply doesn't seem to stand still. Ok it's not like a real city with bustling activity every second, but IMO it's still impressive for a video game.

I don't know, but everytime I try to do that in GTA V the whole game world feels stagnant besides those random cop chases every now and then. Peds just stand around talking and don't seem to do anything interesting at all or interact with the surroundings like the Libertonians.

I just prefer Liberty City and New Alderney for a simple reason, the pedestrians do not call the cops on you for standing around them!!!! I seriously hated that in V. Rant over.

Cheers.

I don't miss it as I still play GTA IV regularly, but despite LS looking prettier LC feels more like a "city" to me.

Even in random side streets LC has a decent amount of peds and vehicles. By comparison LS feels empty with the exception of the beach.

I guess it all depends on what type of city you like. For me I love the gleaming skyscrapers, the lights of Star Junction, the rough streets of Bohan etc.

It's the perfect location for a gritty crime story. LS is more of a holiday location IMO.

I know this is sitting on the fence, but I'll be making that decision when Next Gen comes out. GTA V feels like it was intended for the next generation, and I don't think we've seen the City in it's full glory yet like we will on PS4, Xbox One and especially PC. There's more possibilities on Next Gen, and from what we saw from the trailer, it will feel more alive. I think seeing it on Next Gen will sway me towards voting for Los Santos, as I really do enjoy the City in GTA V and it looks absolutely stunning from above, the scale is amazing.

I don't think you appreciate Los Santos enough until you hover over it, and realize just how detailed, and large it seems. It looks like a real city from above.

Liberty City would be my choice right now though if I had a gun to my head, really matched why I love the look of New York City, especially Star Junction, it really gives you that NYC feeling. It also really nailed the mood of the game, and that bleak and gritty feeling. I think it felt more alive because you were constantly in the City, and it wasn't as small as Los Santos, and there wasn't half of the map with the Country, Mountains etc like GTA V's map has. It's all compacted and focused on one primary location.

Hell yes. Imagine being able to get a plane to Liberty City with updated graphics, I'm sure it'd be possible on the New Consoles if they wanted to release a big DLC?

My thoughts exactly. And Alderney could be attached to the main land of San Andreas so you could also be able to drive from the one city to the other. It would make a super game imo.

It's the most plausible thing they could do, considering Liberty City is all there ready made, and would be a lot easier to incorporate.

Would also open up the avenue for new side missions, new contacts for online, the return of game modes such as Cops and Crooks etc.

An LC & LS combo would be good! What liberty city though? I like the liberty city from GTA3, i like the version in IV but 3 was my introduction to liberty city and will always have that nostalgia for me. Actually, by the time the next 1 comes out they should have greater capacity for features (i hope) with next gen n that, the next GTA could potentially be more than an LC & LS combo, a single map sequal would be a failure, unless the map was vast with a million features

The citizens of San Andreas are pussies compared to Liberty City residents. They can get shot 4 times in the chest and still limp away, and they don't die from getting knocked out.

Liberty City is far more memorable to me when comparatively speaking towards Los Santos, but then again, its probably because I've spent such a great deal of time there.

Not to mention I haven't visited LS in over six months.

Definetly Dude, When ever I walk the streets of LC I feel like I'm home. In LS I feel like a damn tourist.

It may sound like a bad idea, but if they gave us a place we aren't supposed to go(not like Yankton, but like past the blocked freeway exits, and LAX in True Crime: SOLA) it would provide more play opportunities. Especially in GTAO.

I kinda miss San Andreas. What I miss in GTAV is the gang banging, home invasion, flamethrowers, spraycans & spraying graffiti, fire extinquishers, basketball, jetpacks, etcetera. In my opinion San Andreas was the "crazy" chapter of GTA, it had everything I just listed, plus a crazy hippie, casinos, the mafia, the chinese, everything. I was hoping GTAV would be the "crazy" chapter for the HD universe. Now sure GTAV has some aliens and UFO's here and there, but it still leaves me a bit disappointed in some areas. And I was really hoping that we'd experience the ghetto from Franklin's point of view, and the more urban lifestyle.

I really hope we're going Las Venturas in GTAVI, and possibly another city.

LC was a great map so much to do we had more activities than LS, LS is a great map but not a big enough city for me, LC was a good map but wasn't enough to explore like LS, A combination would be great in a DLC, cause if we had animals etc in LC would of been great like lions in the central Zoo in the LC park in the game, Combination would be great for like wars on gangs like bloods and crips for example have Los Santos Families in LS and Ballas in LC would be great for turf wars.

Yeah I def miss Liberty City. I like Los Santos too, I just HATE that they have so many places that are not enterable n not playable like burgershot, air hockey n the arcade game Qub'd. I know Air Hockey n Qub's arent a big deal, its just the point that they were playable in GTA4, so why not in GTA 5? Plus walking in burgershot n hearing the stuff they say behind the counter was hilarious lol.

When they do bring Liberty City back and we all know they will for online and hopefully single player too, they def need it to be more than just a graphics upgrade too. Now that we have golf in LS,they should open up the mini golf in LC. We have the roller coaster n ferris wheel in LS,it would be even better to open up that carnival in LC and all the side games. Everything we can do in the strip clubs in LS should be added to LC

I love LS. Just yesterday I was boating around the harbour and canals and it looks just right. I'm still finding great spots I haven't been.

LC was just as well done but V has more detail and more sights to see. And it has the countryside that adds a whole other world and flavour.

When you add the fact its going to be on ps4 and looking even better it puts it miles ahead of IV. I see IV as being just as good for it's time and it and RDR are still among the best last gen had to.offer.
