So I'm thinking of buying a tank for doing some of the harder missions, etc.

My question is, How does buying the tank work?

I know you buy it and then have to call pegasus who then deliver it for you.

Do you just get 1?

If it's destroyed is that it or can i call for another?

You call Pegasus, pay $1k then go pick it up at the location they leave it at.  If you lose it, call them again and go get it again.

I saw someone drive one out of their garage yesterday. Took the most expensive car I own and just rammed it repeatedly into the tank until I blew up my car. Over and over until he quit.

Yeah that's exactly what I did and tanks are slow, spawn killing is hard in a tank.

You're very welcome.

Enjoy your tank.  But be careful of griefers who will crash into you to get you to go to Bad Sport.  When a car approaches I always jump out of my tank now.  Sad that you have to do that, but right now you can get seriously screwed over in a tank, even if you're just minding your own business.

Where are the pickup locations?

The only one I've seen so far, as it's always spawning there, is right near the movie theater in the city.  I haven't tried calling a tank out in the countryside yet though.

Guys if the tank is not moving you won't get any bad sport warnings... That's only if your moving in the tank and the other person rams you.

Yeah if you're in a tank just stay stationary when player vehicles are near you. Don't shoot them let the dumbasses drive them into you. If you're not moving you don't get the bill or BS

You talk sh*t. If you did that to me I would be waiting for you as you spawned. It would of been you leaving or calling your mates to help you get away from the tank.

Good, I'd be standing next to any PV I could find. (there were quite a few)

I also doubt you'd be able to stop me from running away if you're in a tank and returning with another PV to ram into you. The guy I did this to last night couldn't. In fact I could tell he was very aware of what I was doing because he refused to shoot me with the tank while I was driving my PV. (I tried to get him to shoot me but he wouldn't.)

No. I didn't say that. If that's how you want to play, more power to you. I honestly don't grief people with tanks. I won't hunt you down or chase you across map, but keep coming at me and I'll kill you. Sure. Now if I get in a battle with someone hell yeah I'll call my tank up. Who wouldn't want the best weapon they could get? I'm sorry that someone made the mistake if bringing a SMG to a tank fight. Lol.

My glitched tank is for missions. Just because I'm lazy and want delivery.

You have never met a guy who is good in a tank. I would of got out of my tank and shot you in the car and the knocked your wheels off the car.

Definitely didn't work this way as of Tuesday, not sure if anything changed since then.

Get your crew mate (like i have done for my crew) to call pegasus, give you a tank to store in your garage and insured, then bingo, you have arguably the best vehicle in the game for ruining lobbies.

I would say the jet is the best, as i absolutely rape tanks and anyone in the lobby for that matter, but it takes a lot more skill to dominate with a jet & can still be shot down by tanks which isnt too difficult.

Tanks are marginally better for dominating rooms id say, especially insured tanks, you pretty much annihilate all helicopters, all cars, people etc, & if you're smart, you can dominate other tanks easily & replace your tank each time quickly to never lose the advantage.

The bad side? Its a one way ticket to bad sport lobbies, same as most attack vehicles. Although i have been avoiding bad sport for over 2 weeks now by quitting the game when it says " bad sport 16 days" and then logging back on before the save.

Happy hunting

No, it hasn't. It didn't work this way and it still doesn't.

The only way they get penalized for crashing into your tank is if they blow the tank up when they do it.

Tanks are good for for free-roam rampages (better against cops than fighting other players because of insurance fees and massive badsport) but they aren't great for missions. They kill things fine, but many many missions ask you to retrieve a vehicle and well if you're solo then that forces you out of your tank or if you're in a team then a tank isn't great as an escort vehicle (too slow). Tanks work fine for missions where you retrieve a packag, but it'll be slow and all that firepower is kinda unnecessary.

IMO Buzzards are better for missions (you get auto-lock vs hostile NPCs/cops and they are much faster )

There is a second tank spawn location if you are too close to the theatre. It will spawn in the casino parking lot so just make sure nobody is around those Areas when you call it in, and make sure you are close to those areas since people can steal the tanks which I think is crap but whatever
