[IV/EFLC] Western Extinction

Hi, since i lost all my data on pc earlier i had to start with something new.
Allways wanted to have a zombie apocalytpic atmosphere in GTA IV, there is allready few scripts mods for zombies,
so all there need to be is a perfect map with nod paths..
I've almost finished the main terrain in cityscape 1.8 with road etc.

Heightmap texture has been created in World Machine 2.2,
if you are interested how to make an awesome mountain here is a video of it: click here.
Hope you'll enjoy the idea and map as i do, yet there is more to come!

Update:
I figured out that map was lacking some features like
open desert, railroad and highway. So i decided to rebuild whole terrain into Californian Desert with dunes.
The Northern Nightmare map progress wouldn't be forgotten or abandoned, it will simply switch
from places to ther new home in the Western Extinction..

Estimated release date for first release is somewhere in begin september icon14.gif

But this one looks really nice too! And the snow.. something like North Yankton :)

Don't know what you mean by that, it's new heightmap terrain ( different mountain ), new textures, snow props.. And yet there is more coming like a frozen lake from Mafia 2 around the map with some icebergs and cave's, snowy covered buildings and props, tunnel construction ( something similiar to BF3 Davamand Peak map ) and ofcourse spooky stuff, baricaded stuff on roads, survival camps..

Don't know what you mean by that, it's new heightmap terrain ( different mountain ), new textures, snow props.. Well it is a seemless 2048x2048 snow texture with a bit of grass coming out here and there, it might be seeing same from far distance a bit as in CSM..

But i think you just meant that it will look same as CSM mountain only white snow and rock, but it will not  :^: i'll be painting terrain with mutiple textures later in 3ds max.

First i need to smooth some hills and add more erosion to the cliffs before i export the map from cityscape. Afterthat i'll be putting more screens of the urban area's etc, so just stay tuned amigo  :cool:

I'm still trying to gather BF3 props, but it seems like nobody is able to provide me with Alborz Mountain models/textures...

So you just got the countryside done? Understandable. Can't wait to see the city. I've always known you for your country stuff, can't wait to see you tackle a city

Yes it's the map plan kinda for now and infected area's are based on level of destruction and props.
There will be alot of tunnel's inside of mountain starting in mineshaft at top of mountain and ending in construction tunnel ( kinda like in BF3 map Davamand Peak, where you can fly with your chopper in ), about the town i think i'll use IV buildings for that just will retexture them with some decals and snow. I have many idea's for the map, it's just needs some time.. Like cracked roads in town by explosion of some pipes and you could use them roads as jumps or climb higher from zombies.

Thank you, well it's still far from quality that i wanted to. But the whole map with buildings and all that is now at 700k poly's wich is really good, cause it let's me add even more stuff  :^:

Some new screens around the map! Expanded town and fitted them all with snow on rooftops etc. and some old sawmill area wich could be found near wrecked ship.

Also good news that i'm still on 1.200.000 +/- poly's, so there is enough of space for detail coming later. I'm planning to use 2 +/- mil poly's for the map and than the rest for streaming objects/trees..

Yes scientific one, where the outbreak could started at first place. But it's actually hard to tell, it's a zombie map so it would be understandable if it's abandoned..
However on the other hand it could be still under control by remaining troops  :lol:

There could be an underground bunker with a numbers station broadcasting numbers, but I'm not sure if you're up for going that "far" into backstory.

 

And in case you didn't know what number stations were...

Damn, I knew about the UVB 76 signal "The Buzzer" in Russia, which sometimes broadcats strange voice messages but I didn't know they were that popular... I like UT's idea :p
