I like racing all vehicles.
I often host races n chsnge classes all the time.
Shows true skill if u can race all classes.

Catchup is good IMO if doing short or 1 lap races. If catchup is off then u need a few laps so racers atleast have a chancd to catch up w pure driving skill.
Best is when catchup is ON n ppl still DNF n get no $$ LOL

.

Fully upgraded adder is trash I win races against those with my vacca

This^... I use my infernus and beat Chromey Phoney Adders all the time..  I love it.

In Sports class I use my Sultan and win the majority of those races...

So not sure why players think fastest car + modded = wins.
Pretty sure you couldn't even touch a skilled racer in an adder whether customized or not. Especially if they know how to utilize their turbo boosting start. A Vacca would get smoked even if they're riding in the slip stream, if the person in the adder is skilled. An Infernus would not be able to match an adders handling.

Either way the Entity is the best all around super car. Performance wise.

Theres no such thing as best all around car in my books.  And I prove to myself al the time when I beat those cars with my cars.

And yes, they are skilled racers.

LOL the guy saying the Adder is all conquering has no idea.

NO CAR in any class has a clear advantage over any other car in the same class, this also goes if all cars are fully modded.

The Adder is a POS in races, easily the worst of the 'Big 3', as it's advantages (top speed) do not come in handy in 9 out of 10 races.

Furthermore, a skilled driver in a stock Voltic can smoke a nub in an Adder/Entity, contrary to popular belief there is skill involved in winning GTAO races (HINT: It doesn't involve ramming everyone who comes near you off the road...)

Some people think the highest top speed is all that matters.  And honestly, if the race was straight with no traffic or contact from others then of course it would favour the fastest cars.  But even then, sh*t happens.

I wouldn't say anything is a POS unless cars are passing by making it seem like that car is standing still.  Like a Bagger VS a Bati in a Straight style race.  Now that's some serous speed issues.

-No custom cars so that some level 120 that glitched his way to $10,000,000.00 can beat everyone with a fully-upgraded Adder

There is an option in the race settings for custom cars - OFF

-Be able to browse random races by type (I HATE how people ALWAYS pick super cars)

Just leave the lobby you`re matched in and try again

-NO catch-up (what's the point of being in first when you can just be slipstreamed at the last second?)

There is an option to disable catch-up. Keep in mind that SLIPSTREAM is very powerful still.

-Ghost cars for the other players (no spinning others out to win races)

This is stupid. Go play Colin McRae rally games or whatever ...

You should still be able to do the above features, just make a new type where you can't. Anyone else agree? I'm a superior racer to most I play, yet I always get slipstreamed, I always get rammed whenever I brake around turns (they don't turn, they just ram to knock me out of the race), and I'm always the victim of some douchebag that uses his fully-modded cars to basically cheat (I mean, how am I supposed to win races and be able to mod my car if I'm always playing people with already modded cars?).

I just need one race to get turbo for my Sultan, but I always end up with catchup and custom cars. And no one ever joins the sessions I host.

f*ck...

Treat that butthurt of yours, or you won`t be able to sit soon.

Let`s agree that 2 superior racers kinda played bumper cars IRL too, shall we? Or how Raikkonen is well known for never giving any quarter. All 3 previously listed names are Formula 1 World Champions, which is a bit more proof than a self proclaimed forum warrior, isn`t it?

^Learning how to deal with players that ram is just part of the game.

I've gotten way better at dealing with players that ram.

What a lot of noobs don't understand is that the player that passes you can be your friend.

Trading positions with slip steam can push both racers really fast. Which I always find it funny when players in 3rd or lower are so ram happy. I guess they don't want to catch up to 1st faster? lol

I don't agree with ghost-cars. I do agree catch-up has no place and that slipstream is not at all like slipstreaming - it's a follower-boost enabled at near-top speed.

I'm looking forward to seeing what custom races people make once that patch is released.  I really want to race on the dirt track behind the casino.

I kinda of agree with the races. Racing is all about being the fastest. But in GTA it's mainly all about control, and not crashing or getting rammed. There is no way you can go full speed in GTA Online in a party and actually win the race. Unless your car is overly faster than everyone elses. If you're in the lead, people will just overtake you via slipstreaming. There is no consistent winners. It sucks a bit.

Non GTA races should have some kind of responsive system that detects ramming and disqualifies I think. GTA races are for carnage, and I love them equally.

I think there will be 2 kinds of people: honest racers and farmers. With all that entails: nice intricate smart races for one, with Criminal Records clones for the others. It will be ten times worse than it already is, as you`ll get exponentially more sh*t race lobbies versus decent ones.

I suspect we`ll need to setup private championships, LOL. Which isn`t such a bad idea, come to think about it.

Im gonna have to disagree.. There are consistent winners and even if they don't win they place near the top. I have 120 wins and 390 losses. And while they say losses most of them where 2nd and 3rd finishes.

I was racing with a good group last night and after about 15 straight races the same 4 players would always be in the hunt for the lead.

I agree with some of those points but the custom cars thing not so much. The only reason it's a problem right now is glitchers, once that's fixed everyone should have to work to customize their vehicles so any customs you come across were earned.

Here`s one fun fact: I don`t own a super car. I have the money, but I don`t want to see that filth in my garage (look in my posting history for my idea of a nice garage). Therefore, I will never own a modded super or any car that is not a muscle.

So, I will have to ask any non-muscle lobby to set custom off, which will be an issue. It`s not the fact that I earned it or not, it`s the fact that I don`t want it.

Things that sh*t me about GTA Online races:

- Slipstreaming is waaaaaaayyy too powerful and occurs too frequently

- Car physics are ridiculous and encourage players to make contact to put others out of the race

- Too many tracks with few if any sharp corners, which makes cars with high top speed king

- GTA Race mode is moronic and makes winning completely a matter of luck not skill

- AI traffic doing stupid things like swerving at the last minute from the opposite lane to hit you

- Players immediately kicking you whenever you beat them

- Too many Super class races, not enough of everything else

- Too many sh*tty maps like Criminal Records & Down The Drain being run, not enough of the others

this is why we need a dedicated tarmac track.

Dude, get a super car and then mod for racing only. You should convince yourself its not filth and its just a class. As it stand you are just gimping yourself in races, especially when asking for no customs on supers.

Hell I use an infernus and I love seeing it place in 1st while everyone else is driving adders. And then coming to the forums and seeing posts about how superior adders are.

Id say anybody who loves racing will have at least 1 vehicle for every race class, if room permits. If not, they are pretty much handicapping themselves.

the driving handling itself is sh*t... like seriously you dont even have to brake at some turns, its too arcadey at times.. I miss how in GTA IV the races actually required skill and requiring us to brake or drift at turns instead of just turning the left analog stick in the direction you want to go immediately to turn. Rockstar just needs to loosen up the tire traction a little bit and it will make the handling a lottttttt better.

I know the theory :) . I am hoping they will give us one more garage so I won`t have to make a decision about which of my lovely muscle cars will I have to replace with an ugly supercar that lacks a soul :)

Doesnt matter what the settings are. If you are good you will find ways to win. Cant blame the settings.

I was a huge fan of GTA 4 racing and I can say that it probably takes more skill to drive in GTA V.

You can't make all turns without brakes, especially at high speeds that's for damn sure. But the main difference is the crashing/smashing takes more skill to deal with in GTA V.

IN GTA 4, rammers where laughable unless they where going backwards.

This biggest problem for me is the ramming.  I have far more fun in clean races than being constantly rammed from the get go.

I would very much like to see a mode that made ramming less desirable and promote clean driving.  The only way I can see this would be to INCREASE the damage caused by racing vehicles hitting each other to the point they become less competitive against the rest of the field.

As it stands the cars can take insane damage and still run well which is the fundamental problem during races.

If there was a race mode that had an active deterrent for ramming/contact then this would please me greatly.

Wouldn't want to see ghost cars, its just time trials then.

The only thing I see discussion worthy is ghost cars since everything is already there. That said, I don't see the big difference between custom and default cars that you have to look down on everyone that uses custom cars.

The only way to deal with rammers is to learn how to handle it better.

The 1st few weeks of hardcore racing I did rammers where driving me nuts. Now, the last few weeks I've enjoyed dealing with them. Especially when they go for a mindless ram and go flying off the road and quit.

You are racing with the wrong people. There are plenty of clean pro style racers in GTA Online. Just have to be patient and look for them.
Try joining a crew dedicated to racing. If you are on PS3 i suggest The Sanitarium . We race all types. I run no custom a lot, but not exclusively.

I can handle the rammers but would much prefer to concentrate on racing than watching the guy behind target me as I approach a corner or having to purposely do slow starts and wait for the rammers to take other racers out before I can seriously join the race.

I don't believe the rammers have much success in winning races and they can be avoided but its seriously annoying when you travel 3 feet from the start line and someone purposely hits you.

Finger in the air, my win ratio is about 1 in 5 from clean racing so whilst not excellent I don't think its too bad given I don't ram.  Just would prefer a cleaner mode of racing.

I kind of agree.. But what can they do?

I mean in every game ever made with actual world records have been tainted with players who cheated or glitched the game to achieve some unreal record.
