Red Dead Redemption. No R* game comes close to this, not even GTA V or SA.

I am going to say GTA V. I loved IV, but V is so much improved in so many areas and even with too much multiplayer focus it is still dominant title of this generation.

For me it is

#1 Red Dead Redemption
#2 Grand Theft Auto V
#3 Max Payne 3

as my top 3.

Even with that, it is hard to vote. RDR is #1 simply because of the story and the time period.

As for Open World Experience Grand Theft Auto V would top it off. It makes it difficult to decide because they step up their game and expectations with each game.

RDR, V, and IV. All excellent games. MP3 and LA Noire are close, though.

Red dead redemption by far.

But if we were talking about our favorite R* competitive multiplayer game, it would be Max Payne 3 by far. R*'s competitive modes online have always felt cheap and tacked on to me, but MP3 did it right despite it's flaws.

RDR and gta multiplayer are great for free roaming and some co-op though.

I am surprised by how GTA IV has the upper hand in votes compared to GTA V. If Red Dead Redemption doesn't exist, I would vote for GTA IV. Although I have yet to play GTA V, it is apparent that IV voters are looking for a speical kind of atmosphere and storytelling that V has the opposite of, that's, dark, cold and more mature. I saw this argument raised in discussions on GTA V board and users like SonOfLiberty is one of them. You would be flooded with most of the mainstream if you put forward an opinion like this on V board.
