I know this is pretty ridiculous, but I can't seem to download any version of any GFX program on this ancient PC of mine.

So I've got this picture that is currently 150x150 pixels, and I really need it to be 120x120 so I can use it as an avatar without it looking extremely blurry. I know it's a very simple fix, but like I said, I can't seem to take care of it myself because this computer is sh*t at this point.

Could anybody hook me up? It'd be greatly appreciated. Also, I'll immediately save it and re-upload it so it doesn't have to take space on your account (if that matters to you at all).

Here is the picture:

Like I said I'd appreciate it very much. Wish I could do it myself.

I tried to in Paint, but yeah, it didn't work out so well.

here you go, also, going down from 150 to 120 doesn't blur the image. Only up scaling it does.

I realized this forum is good that way, but I'm using the avatar on MMA Playground as well, and for whatever reason when they automatically resize it on that site (even just those 30 pixels) it absolutely ruins the picture. That's the only reason I bothered to ask someone else to do it, and I knew it sounded like a stupid request.

Thanks a lot, man. I'll re-upload it right now.

I hate to be a pain in the ass, but how about one more? I promise I won't ask for another after this one...

Could somebody resize this down to 120x120? I'd appreciate it very much and like I said I won't ask for another.

Okay, I lied. I'd really like one more image re-sized if anyone is willing to help me.

This is the image:

As usual, it's 150x150 and I need it to be 120x120.

Are there any programs other than full on photoshop programs I could download to do this myself? I can't do it in Paint without ruining the image.

Once again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You said you liked the border in the previous one, so I added one here too.

I'd recommend you to download GIMP. Is completely free but is almost as powerful as Photoshop. There are a few different online alternatives as well, but I've never tried any of those.

Thanks a bunch, dude.

I'll try downloading GIMP. My only issue is that my PC is a dinosaur, but I'll try it out either way.

Yeah, I just downloaded GIMP, and I have absolutely no idea how to use this thing. Seems way more complicated than it should be.

Any advice on how to simply resize an image? I have one that's 650x440 pixels. I need it to be 120x120 like all the others, preferably without ruining the image.

Rectangular selection tool, hold shift down and drag for square. Or type the values in tool box. You can move and place the selection by holding down left mouse button.

Image -> scale image. Type values, select "Sinc Lanczos3" in the interpolation drop-down field.

Apply small amount of sharpen if needed. Filters->Enhance->Sharpen. I use Unsharp Mask 2-0.12, which is additional plugin.

All other formats than GIMP native need to be saved from File->Export. You can type the filename and format (yourfilename.jpg for example), it´s faster than using the drop-down.

Raise the quality slider in 92-95%.

Thanks :)

I do appreciate the help. I'm still messing around with it, but your advice has definitely made a big difference already.
