In my hunt for a really well-rounded garage, I have been testing out the varaiety of cars that GTAVO has to offer.  I have been looking really hard for a 'drifter' type car, since I really dislike to outdated/oldschool look of the Futo.  I think I have may found an awesome drifter: The Comet

The comet has horrible handling, but when using the hand-brake this car handles like a dream.  I feel like a Tokyo Drift master when I am driving it.

Anyone else have this opinion?  Different opinion?  Whats your go-to drifter?

Drifting is near impossible and unrealistic in this game but the closest I've gotten with a car was the Futo

Stanier and Carbonizzare seem like okay drifter cars, too.

I really like the look of the Comet, but my car handles like complete shtako... It's the type of car, where you don't touch anything when going doing the road, cause god forbid you hit right or left on the analog stick... *initiate 1080 degree spin into barrel roll off of another car*

No other car makes me softly hold my controller like it's a bomb about to go off. I really like the look of it, but unless I'm doing like 20-30mph, it can't stay on the road worth shtako. Even trying to weaving in and out of traffic causes this thing to loose control. I've tried different tires, different spoilers, different suspension levels even, non of it has helped...

so i drove it around for a little bit and it really does have crappy handling. i drove it around for like 5 minutes and put it right back into my garage and grabbed a different car.

I love the comet and think it is one of the best handling cars in the game.

Best drifting car is either the Pheonix or the Sabre GT.

I keep hearing about how poorly the Comet handles but i've never had any problems with it. I absolutely love that car.

Agreed since it represent the Toyota Corolla AE86 from Initial D.

It is easy to get the rear end loose because of the rear engine in the comet. It is a really good drift car and if you know how to control the angle it can be really fast in corners.

I just added the Comet to my garage & couldnt be happier with it. Its stock basically for now but i decided after buying the Coquette last week, that the Comet would fill my last open spot in my garage.

Schafter: Rarely ever spins out of control

Exemplar: Same as above, but camera shifting while using the handbrake gets pretty annoying.

These are the cars I've drifted the best with so far.

There is no drift.

All cars have traction control making it impossible to drift.
The most you can do is powerslide. That's what you are doing, not drifting.

The Declasse Granger is the best drifting vehicle in the game. You can actually feel the weight in the car and sling it around unlike pretty much all the other cars in the game "it's a big SUV, it can't drift". just try it, you'll thank me later

I disagree. being able to fish tail down a road because you can't get traction is drifting, powersliding is handbraking into a turn. Lots of cars on gta cant drift at all, but there's a few that drift great.

Ewok626 - realistically the rear engine of the comet should make it harder to drift, not easier.

I love my comet and yeah it gets sideways but I have more fun drifting in my Schwartzer and Futo.

There's a difference between powersliding and drifting.

I'm not so sure the comet is good at drifting. The futo is the best car in-game for it along with the sultan and imponte ruiner.

I like how different we are, the Futo is dope as f*ck to me.  The look and everything.  While the comet is ugly as f*ck to me.  I've always hated luxury looking vehicles, porsches are ugly as f*ck I swear.

why is there no love being given to the sultan? The sultan "drifts" pretty well and the handling on it is great too

Because the Sultan isn't modeled after the Legendary AE86 like the Futo.  Only legends drive Futo's.

To drift you need to keep the wheels spinning constantly, it can't be done.
You are power sliding around corners, and fishtailing which is not drifting.

The Sultan doesn't slide out as crazy as the Futo or the Comet, but it definetly maintains a drift fairly well
