the dominator is NOT a muscle car. check your games.

also don't forget to shotgun blast the hood of your car.
the holes are for speed.

When we had Billions to spend I did some testing of the Muscle car class. I was testing pure speed, acceleration and top speed so I ran multiple races on the Commute and Criminal records. The results are here:

http://gtaforums.com...muscle +testing

The Top 3 are all in a class of their own with the fastest being the Dominator, Ruiner and Gauntlet

This guy took handling into effect by testing on Cutting Corners and got almost the exact same results, . On Cutting Corners the Ruiner and Dominator switch places. The Gauntlet is consistently the best handling. Results here:

http://gtaforums.com...s/?p=1064619271

Here's all the game specs on handling:

dominator really does handle so badly, but looks great

gauntlet for me is the best all rounder, for what a muscle car can be (even in game american cars cant handle corners lol)

I have 3 muscle cars: Ruiner, Sabre Turbo and Gauntlet. And I have to admit that the Gauntlet handles better

The Gauntlet is meant to represent a current day incarnation of a muscle car so it's not surprising it's a little more user friendly than the glorious old muscle :-D

The Gauntlet is the best in all aspects except for the look IMO.

I have a Ruiner, its handling is good but like most of the muscles, it's burnout frenzy at start.

The folks who think muscle cars have no handling are the folks who find themselves crashing into every light post on every block.

They're the ones who can't differentiate between "handling" and "grip". For them more grip = better handling and they all drive Entities. I think a fully modified Stanier is the best handling and most fun car in the game! :D

For top Speed the Phoenix or Ruiner, (fully modded)but like many other have said they are ass light in a corner, The Gauntlet is almost as fast, and the Grip is good in corners, but it has a wide turning radius so cornering is a it slower

,I fell like the Dominator does anything but Dominate..Depending on the Race i will use either The Gauntlet or Vigero.....and have never been beaten by a Dominator is a clean no bumper car style race

Over my 2 characters I own fully modded versions of the Sabre, Pheonix and Dominator and my favorite by far is the Dominator, yes it's a bit twitchy but I quite like that, the same reason I prefer the Adder to the Entity, you have to work at it to make it fast.

Fancy a race....?

Handling is a purely subjective term made by assigning priorities to objective characteristics like grip.

Gauntlet looks ass. It doesn't come close to the ruiner's level of detail.

That's true but I imagine in this case it's being used to describe predictable and exploitable responses to steering inputs etc, I.e. You can control drifts easily, place it on the road accurately etc. If that's what's meant I agree with him, it's a hoot to drive!

all muscle cars handle like ass.

I second this sage perspective, but in doing so, it's The Imponte Phoenix that stands out as the most well-performing in the class.

Acceleration, handling, top speed... it beats every other car in the class, with the exception of it's sister, The Imponte Ruiner, which is the same car, except cosmetically.

Gauntlet is a very good choice, as well, but in a flat out street race, the Phoenix/Ruiner will edge out ahead.

And for what it's worth, meatloaf will give you gas. Cheers.

Best handling?

PIcador.

Slowest muscle car? Picador.

So, like in all things, there's tradeoffs.

Wish it were true, I love my Phoenix, but it just cant hang with a Ruiner, Dominator or Gauntlet. Those three are in a class of their own.

and comparing a car with the handling characteristics of the late 60' and 70's pony cars against modern engineered cars is crazy. Especially when you consider most their real life counterparts sold for under $5K!

Can't believe that only one person(Mitch M.) has a standalone vote for the Ruiner.

I've had each Muscle fully modded at one point or another, and to me personally, i feel like the Ruiner is on rails so far as a "Muscle Car" in this game is concerned.

Gauntlet would probably be #2, with the Dominator a close #3, at least to me.

Gauntlet the best handling muscle and its been confirmed. Has a good top speed and for me its the best muscle car... love the look of it and at 100 percent armor its a tank on four wheels.

Btw Franks Buffalo should be muscle but its in the sports category.

Guantlet i have driven the dominator, subre gt turbo, phoenix, and other ones and the dominator and phoenix are hard as hell to handle imo compared to the guantlet which feels smother when braking and cutting sharp corners.
