It's a really nice idea! What about Monaco though?

I really love this idea as a whole, especially the yacht as a safehouse. Thanks for sharing.

Rather have this then another generic zombie fast food combo.

I agree my friend, I think it would be a great DLC.

Could any of our French viewers suggest some music that would be appropriate for a radio station from the region?

'Riviera radio' plays throughout most of that region, monaco/nice/valbonn etc.....

Oh and Marseille is a f*cking kip for the most part lol...

I'm trying to figure out some specific bands or something that would be popular to add. I think Cheb Mami is popular down there.

Well I stayed in france for about 18 months working, about 20 miles or so outside of Nice and was up and down the cote, and up in monaco etc many times, and I didnt notice much difference between the music being played there and at home. That entire area, at least around the coast and up into monaco or ventimiglia in italy seems to be setup to cater for international visitors, and I thought the radio reflected that

Monaco is central to this DLC idea mate i'm glad you guys like it! Gambling, crime, super cars, hatchbacks, winding mountain roads, yachts, the life of the rich and famous in the sun!

I found some rap from Marseille on youtube i'm not sure if it is appropriate or not but I could see it for a rap station in this. Picturing driving around in a Renault blasting this on a drive by.

I think your dlc idea is wonderful and hits a lot of ideas that people thought were going to be in this game that ended up making some people feel like the game underdelivered.

I hope Rockstar steals your idea for a game in the future whether it is gta or not! ;)

Who honestly wouldn't want a Super Yacht as their personal apartment to plan heists, sail around the mediterranean, chill out with your friends in the sun, etc?

Who wouldn't want to see a cool casino like Monte Carlo added?

Who wouldn't want to see more European super cars and European hatchbacks in the game?

I actually proposed a yacht a while back, but you could tie off boats to the side and it would have a helipad on the back

Yeah mate thats actually exactly what i'm talking about. A yacht as your apartment with a onboard helipad and launch for sea sharks and speedboats to take you into the main map. It would be a great thing to have.

I'm not sure why people are saying this is trolling or whatever. Most people except those with a personal agenda against me like this idea and this really is the perfect location for Yachts, casinos, super cars, racing, et cetera.

A super yacht would have to cost a whole bunch of money though. Millions atleast.

Renault Megane!

renault-2012-renaultsport-megane-265-cup

Citroen DS3

BMW 5 Series Hatchback

I could see a bunch of these!!

And this isn't even mentioning the supercars.

For me it's the Megane for sure, I'd LOVE that in GTAV Los Santos OR France.

You can disagree but you shouldn't try to turn it in to some other location .

I'm not turning it into a different location, I'm just looking at it from a realistic perspective so you don't get your hopes up.

No no my hopes aren't up at all. I'm just trying to flesh this out and discuss it intelligently because I think it is a great idea.

Thinking about a really intense Oceans 11 style casino heist that could be added into this DLC something that takes a bunch of people doing different tasks perfectly to pull off. High risk and high reward, maybe a 100k payout per player if you pull it off. Will update with a full idea when I flesh it out, probably sometime tomorrow.

hatchbacks are not good for racing, why the hell would you need storage space for racing? Why do you think the supercars and sports cars are all slim and NOT hatchbacks... That argument is invalid. And why dont you drive the Blista since they murdered it in this game although i think youll like it cause it looks like the "citroen"...

Lots of cars in this game are not "good for racing" but they are still in the game and people still use them. I don't see what the problem is. Not everyone chooses a car based off of stats, some of us choose off of style. For example I have an Oracle that I absolutely love but it would get destroyed in a race by a Schafter or Tailgater.

It is just about adding more choice and things that people would like. I dont see how anyone can argue with the Renault Megane.

I like the Yacht deal, but setting hell no. On those streets all it takes is an AI car and or cop car to block you in and your stuck.

Please, no. I like you admiral, but I really hope we never see France in a Grand Theft Auto game. The United States is the perfect setting for a game based on drugs, guns, and general violence. I'd honestly like to see Chicago, the jewel in the crown of American violence.

I guess I don't understand what is not "Grand Theft Auto" about robberies, heists, super cars, racing, drug smuggling, ghettos, countryside, etc --- Monte Carlo, Marseille, and the Cote D'azur would have all of this.. Only difference is it is not set in America. As I said it would still obviously be in English so you dont have to worry about that.

I don't think saying Grand Theft Auto has to be American just because the previous ones have been is legitimate. I think it is a roadblock and a narrow one at that.

I thought we would be able to use the yacht that was in GTA IV with the helipad, But yeah you don't need to be in poncey France for a yacht to be in the game.

Name a city in the United States where you see Superyachts (or supercars) in that quantity? You are pretty much saying you like my idea but you just hate France.

I feel like France would be better for a high-end heist setting just because of public perception. When I think France, I don't think drug smuggling and ghettos, I think vineyards and diamond store theft.

The Monte Carlo portion is certainly as you describe. High end robberies, heists, etc. You are right on about that. But you are way off about drug smuggling and ghettos if you look into Marseille.

NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

Wait for the PC version to come out and mod the locations in that's your best bet.

I do understand it is not likely but that shouldn't be a roadblock from discussing it or fleshing it out. There is no real reason why it shouldn't happen, and I havent heard any downside other than people saying (in a nutshell) "I dont want to play in France" and "Never going to happen."

If you look at the core principles i've laid out you have a fantastic GTAO expansion here

France wouldn't be suitable for a game like GTA. If R* really want to make GTA:O like a real MMORPG and not suck they will definitely be adding more locations locations in, French towns albeit being something fresh and good, still wouldn't happen. Simple as. It just doesn't feel like GTA. You could have small sections from those towns in fictional areas/cities in GTA but transferring a whole city.. nah. Those towns/cities feel too renaissance/medieval for that there is Assassins Creed and numerous other free-roam games. Plus most people wouldn't recognize or care for these landmarks and wouldn't be familiar with them and they feel "out of touch", the whole being of GTA is to poke fun at our recent past and our current times, and cities like LA, NYC and Miami have a lot of corruption, greed etc going for them. A town like Monaco wouldn't work. Maybe Paris.

I just don't want to hear French accents. Give them the best American accent (New York: Brooklyn, especially) and we've got a deal.

I understand, but that seems like a pretty silly reason to be against it.

And (for Niko) I dont think Marseille or Monte Carlo have a particular renaissance feel to them its not like we are talking about GTA Chateau de Versailles or something here
