Hey all! I was wondering if anyone could help me solve this issue. I got GTA San Andreas from a friend who didn't want it and installed it on my Windows 7 SP 1 laptop (more details on PC at bottom). I have installed it, started it up, got through the main menu, started a new game, changed the mouse inverted off, and then proceeded to steal a car and drive to the first destination (I didn't like the bike). My crash comes as if it was timed. No matter where I go, or what I'm driving, it crashes to the desktop and has a popup that says gta_sa.exe has stopped working.. I click "close" and try again, and I have not found a way to fix it, hence why I am here. Any suggestions?

PC details:

HP G60 Notebook.

Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz  2.20 GHz

4 GB RAM

64 bit OS

I have tried compatibility changes. I have tried loading from saved files. I have tried running as administrator.

I've tried from loaded games that have been fully completed. It still crashes.

Notebooks (and laptops) aren't known for being friendly to games (but, you knew that already)

Recap:

  1. Installed with Admin Privileges
  2. Used XP (sp3) mode Or Win98 mode if you have mouse problems.
  3. Deleted gta_sa.set file.
  4. If your system has an affinity it is set to "0".
  5. Double checked the Video Graphics Requirements.
  6. You are playing with the Original Rockstar DVD in the drive. (Not using a backup copy.)
  7. No one has installed any Modifications to the game.
  8. The game is installed to the default drive (C:/).

These are the general Minimum System Requirements

Is this a legit copy of the game? Are you using any no-cd cracks?

An external application might be causing the crash. Make sure you close all running applications before starting the game, even your anti-virus/firewall.
