I was thinking why don't they have a guy/girl start from absolutely nothing literally no house, no car, living on the streets of Seattle (I like the view of Mount Rainier) and he/she gets arrested for stealing a car or something and he/she meets someone while he's/she's in jail that teaches him/her how to be a career criminal. So he/she starts doing small time jobs for this crime boss, and moves up in the crime world slowly from low level thug doing home invasions, car thefts, robbing small stores, robbing people in allies. And is slowly introduced into doing bigger crimes, robbing banks, carrying out assassinations that require him to go city to city or around the world (and have those maps accessible after by taking an airplane to the location)

And eventually he/she is faced with a decision to take out his/her mentor or carry out an attack on a foreign diplomat that was giving to him/her by his mentor, and the people who want him to take out his/her mentor is the FBI (or GTA world FIB) If he/she takes out his mentor it opens up a whole new world of missions to do for the FBI, but if he/she chooses to do the assassination on the diplomat he/she will be pulled deeper and deeper into the world of crime and builds his/her own crime ring so big that the FBI doesn't even want to try and take him/her out so the game ends with a mission of him/her taking out various government agents that wanted the mentor dead.

So what do y'all think of my idea?

Y'all can discuss add more or take away or come up with your own.

I could take a female criminal serious as my mom is a criminal (I hate her) kinda hoping she ends up in prison shes an evil woman.

Or even Toronto Canada, it doesn't have to be the United States I just like Mount Rainier, main reason I wanna move to Seattle some day

So you want Vice City's story taking place in Seattle? It's too similar to GTA:VC's story.

In Vice City's story, Tommy was released from prison after ten years and started building his own criminal empire and took over the Vice City.

Main theme of your idea is also A to Z, just like Vice City.

Main theme of your idea is also A to Z, just like Vice City.

I will do you one better!

We go back to vice city and re-visit that exact principle!

In my idea Vice city would be a condensed version of miami, the everglades, key west, the carribean, cuba and colombia. Each region has its own police force, population and resources. In this way we introduce a couple new radical ideas. first and foremost it would be the first gta in multiple countries or in any country other than the U.S. Secondly it would provide completely different playing environments which would change your playing style. So if you want to not get hassled by cops you could be in cuba, or if you want to fight narco guerillas in columbia you can do that too. This as a map would provide so many terrain, foliage and city options as well as gameplay mechanics.

Lets go back to the idea of taking over the city. Remember in san andreas we had the gang warfare missions? Create 100's of these zones all over the map, these areas will be controlled by different gangs, factions, militias, warlords or politicians . each zone will have certain properties to it like income, crime, influence and enforcement. when you take over a zone you decide whether to have it make you money legally or illegally. legally would be buying businesses, houses etc, illegally would be deciding if you want to sell guns, drugs or prostitutes in the area. or you can do both .this will then effect the properties of the zone and add or lower crime, the income of the residents and the amount of police patrol in the area. This will change influence, which is the other half of this mechanic.

Political control.once you gain enough influence you are then able to sway politicians, drug lords, millionaires and others  to help your cause. these will be your main missions, and will unlock business opportunities in your zones. so for instance you influence a drug lord to have you grow some drugs for him, you pick a zone that the drugs would grow well in and profit. this does however affect your influence on politicians and influential people. Influence will also allow residents to join your crew, in this way you will have security in your zones and be able to use them to take over other zones.

Now these mechanics will grow in scope through progression but essentially remain the same structure wise. and this can be showed in the story.

In my story you are a court marshalled marine, you had a brief psychotic incident that lead to the death of 2 of your squad members, at least that's what they convicted you for!

you have a different story, a troubling story of corruption and abuse of power. you knew too much and you got sent to Guantanamo bay. this is where the game starts, you literally see because a guard pulls the bag off your head! he covers your mouth with his hand but there is something in it that he shoves into your mouth. it says that he knows too and that he is getting you out of there. you start the game with a prison break from guantanamo bay and have to get by in cuba until you can get state side. Cuba is lawless or at least this version is, no police just people looting shooting and rioting! you learn the basic mechanics of the game here. here you will take over your first zones which will give you access to a document maker who will give you a fake name and id. another couple zones and you get a boat ride to america. once in america you contact your cousin, a low level street hustler in miami, who then introduces you to the gang he is in. the adventure takes off from there.

The story runs off the principle of domination you want to take over as many zones as you can and maximize profits in each zone. somethings are profitable in certain zones while others are not. for instance prositutes in the middle of the jungle wont make any money but drugs will. your choices of legally or illegally making your money will determine how the game plays out. you will choose your own morality whether to build a great empire to remember your fallen soldiers or to burn everything and reap the benefits.

capturing zones is a game in itself each one may have to be captured in a different way. you may have to kill a warlord with a hundred troops or bitch slap a shop owner and tell him to leave. most will be a good enough challenge to make them a reward when acquired and some will have multiple parts. they will also need to be defended, you can universally control the weapons all your crews use the cars they drive, body armor and other upgrades that make them more capable of holding off an attack, crews will gain experience in each battle won making them more and more effective.

this is just the core of the idea, as far as vehicles, guns and characters go its already 12:30 and I need to go to bed.

let me know if you like it

I would be okay with going back to Vice City including Everglades, the Keys and Ft. Myers (South Florida) in modern time and a protagonist who starts as a hobo, get's by accident into the criminal underworld of Vice City, establishes close ties and builds his own empire till he reaches his main goal which is getting full control of the city. Similar to VC's story, but this time fully fledged and with own ideas.

I have 5 ideas. 4 are vehicle ideas and the other one is bout where the map should be. First idea: The damage on vehicles honestly were not good enough on gta 5, gta 4 damage on vehicles were way better but gta 4 was missin some of the damage that gta 5 had. So what im sayin is that in gta 6 we should mix gta 4 and 5 damages on vehicles together or else make it real as possible. Or make a mod that you dont have to download off of a computer that u switchon and off in settings. Idea 2: For vehicle option, dont just make sports car, make normal cars and do as many as you can no matter how slow they are. And make it so lets say this, make a 97 chevy silverado and then i customize it and put straight pipes on it, and it is actually louder then stock exhaust, and IDK if this is too mich for rickstar, but i think it would be awsome to have what ever you want on a vehicle. Also, i wish you could customize semis and dump trucks. Idea 3: Make it so there are multiple vehicles on the street and not just 5 different vehicles that u pass on the street. That makes the game completely unrealistic. Same with damage. If you want this to be a game that is real life, then do that. Idea 4: Put a MPH bar or somethin so i can see what speed im doin. I dont like first person too so it would be help ful to have that on the scren somewhere so i dont slways have to get the cops on me. Idea 5: I think the map should go from Alaska and Canada down to mexico or maybe south america if the steerin wheel is on the left side. I have a lot more of small ideas havin To do with vehicles but not really worth sayin cause you guys probally would not care bout em. I hope you guys liked my ideas for GTA 6!

I would like to see a playable female protagonist. One where the storyline isn't generic to either protag, but changes based on that choice and many others. The replay value of SP would increase a LOT for me if every major decision could take you down unique story paths. It wouldn't bother me if there were places where alternate lines re-intersected with others, but the stories all feel WAY too linear to me.

I want the protag to start from zero too. I want it to take place in all of America but you start off as a drug dealer/ car thief from New Alderney/ New Jersey. I want more enter-able buildings, strong feeling guns. Improved physics all round and a compelling story.

EDIT: Im gonna TRY to go indepth with my story. Constructive criticism is appreciated but please dont pound on me.

You play as a 26 year old Caucasian male named Sean. The game starts off instantly in a drug deal during a very snowy Christmas. It instantly goes bad and you have to escape. You go from Liberty City no New Alderney. You move in with your older brother, Elijah and you start stealing cars from him to get money for the 2 of you. But the guys that ambushed the deal are still after you. They track you down and kill your brother. The rest of the game is a revenge story and...well.. you know the rest. Between going on an expedition to get revenge and actually getting revenge you meet crazy characters, do outrageously crazy missions, and go new places. :D

This doesn't sound bad to me, perhaps a little generic. But I would truly like to see it possible to play a female protagonist. I think the current state of the art consoles/computers could easily hold all the various story paths. I've played through SP several times on V and I think I've seen all the possible permutations of the story and there are so many missions which are just busy work the replay value is currently at about zero.

This is the primary reason I started playing online...a few new missions.

I haven't explored the content creator as of yet, but tools like that show a lot of promise to keep the game fresh and re-playable. I'd like to be able to make SP missions too.

Did you forget the two wishlist threads that're pinned right at the TOP of the section?

lel.

And you do know that Toronto is nowhere near Mt. Rainer, right?

This really strikes me as an unfortunate thought. Both the criminal and the hating part. I would understand if you didn't want to discuss but it sounds like you might benefit from getting it out. Hate is a bad emotion to bottle up.

I hope the game is nothing like GTA 5. They need to return to the serious, well written stories of GTA 4, RDR, and L.A. Noire. I would like to see realistic vehicle damage, physics, and speed. I'd like to see the same with weapons. They need to ditch the 3 protag thing because it honestly was more of a chore than a groundbreaking experience that they advertised, and the way the characters were written in felt cheesy and forced, especially Frank. The world needs to be more immersive as well. If I see a park bench, I want to sit on it. I want the ability to buy food again, workout in gyms again, and alot of other stuff that made the old games fun. Get rid of unrealistic crap like the ability to flip our cars back over on their wheels, 30 weapons on our protag, etc.

I'd like to play as an ACTIVE member of a Mob working my way up to a Made Man. We should start small time, maybe an associate or an enforcer. It's inevitable that you guys will immediately think of the Godfather games or Mafia games but Rockstar has never really done the Mob angle. Yes, we've worked for them in every game and Tommy Vercetti had his own gang but they didn't feel authentic. Hell, we could play as Hitman with the game revolving around assassinating several high profile targets. We would start small with local crime lords and by the end of the game receive contracts for Governors,Mayors, and rival Mafia Dons. Of course each assassination would be in depth, in other words we wouldn't just go here and shoot that guy. We would need to play set up missions that would open up multiple ways to assassinate our target.

Nice idea, however I feel the next GTA should try something new and inventive such as placing the location in another country. My vote is still for Cabo San Lucas/surrounding areas of mexico. If you've ever been there you know why. Beautiful place where you have the absolute poor living in slums then drive 5 minutes and there's resorts, mansions in the hills, stunning towns and inner citys. Mix that with a great enemy in mexican gangs and corrupt police force and you got yourself a blockbuster game. Maybe a hot-headed/impulsive/materialistic 18 year old (around that age) is on vacation with his family when he gets kidnapped by a gang given the choice to either live and join them or die.He becomes good at was he does/has to do. He is shown the world of having anything he wants and getting away with everything he wants and eventually is brainwashed into liking it (or perhaps not brainwashed and he actually becomes like them up to the player to interpret). His spanish and street smarts are rusty at first along with his shooting skills but eventually as time progresses he becomes better at both and learns new skills along the way. You see him age after years (game progression) of being in the gang and his attitude and personality change as well. Maybe one day he sees his family again and is given the choice to reunite with them or stay where he is considering all the things he's been through and had to do while apart of the gang. I also feel they should implement moral choices again but to a higher degree than their previous installments.

I'm not sure why people so desperately want a female protagonist. If most of the fanbase is male, it only makes sense that there are only male protagonists. Since Grand Theft Auto is influenced by gangster and mafia styled crime films, how many can you name that star a female as the protagonist? I'm not saying there aren't female criminals, and characters like Asuka and Catalina were well crafted, but I think Rockstar is going to continue the male trope.

As far a location, I don't care anymore. It could be in a reimagined Los Santos for all I care. I mean, I'd love for Vice City to come back, but something tells me Rockstar is just going to do what they want.

Honestly, what I'd really like is a prequel for the two HD titles. Vice City and San Andreas were prequels to III, and I'd love to see characters from these two games involved together and their origins.

I dunno if VC and SA are proper prequels to III. Of course, you see some characters in those games that end up in III, like Donald Love and Phil Cassidy, but they don't really shape the events of III that much, save for minor things like LCS and III, for example.

So far I don't think it's people, mostly just me. That said, I think there are a lot more girl gamers now than there have ever been, and who's to say that they wouldn't expand the fan base, perhaps dramatically, if there were a female protagonist. I'm not campaigning for there not to be a male protagonist at all, I just think it's a vastly under-explored idea and it would be fun for me.

I'd be for it, seeing as how now GTA seems to be making oodles and oodles of changes. Seeing as GTA 5 had three protags, why couldn't there have been a female in there?
