Almost all of us know that Off-road wheels do increases the Grip of the cars, on the other hand, it also decreases the "Speed" of the car.

So, What's the effect of :

-High End

-Sports

-SUV

-Muscle

-Tuner

Or those wheels are all about the "Looks"

Post your Opinions/Infos you know here.

I found this somewhere :

Wheels.jpg

Though, IDK If it's a fact.

I don't know If this is a repeated thread.

Well, If it is, Pardon me.

Hmm, I don't think so, just cosmetic.

My Futo handles the same with offroad tires and with sports tires, so I would say, it's just cosmetic.

Wish it was true though, then maybe I could have a proper drift Futo. :)

I think the only difference is the stock tires.

Try getting an offroad vehicle and test how they perform offroad, then swap them out for any other and try again.

Will do, on SP though.

Buuump.

I think, the types of wheel really affects the performance of a car, even if it's just a bit.

Tuner - More Grip on Roads, Tested it with Carbonizzare.

Off-Road - More Grip on Off-roads obviously, But not on Roads.

High-End - I'm guessing, More Acceleration ?

Sport - IDK ? Maybe Balanced Type ? Like the Guy I posted said.

I still don't know If they've increased/decrease their speed when Tuner/Off-road is Equipped tho.

Suspension helps the turn better, for example with my sandking xl it help makes turn better around corner when lowered.

I have off road tires on my Cheetah and I can tell a HUGE difference when driving through mountains and dirt.

Suspension stops the Mesa from flipping over in a tight turn, and stops the Sandking XL bouncing around on the hills.

As for tyre choice I would agree that it does make a difference. Don't forget R* also made the game Midnight run, and the tyre choice was a massive aspect of handling it that game so I would expect the code to be either implemented at least in some small way, why wouldn't they?

For the same reason there's code in GTA IV for a police free free-roam that is not in GTAO?

Im not sure about differences, but I know for certain that offroad tires makes any vehicle much more agile in rugged terrain.

High-End = More Acceleration, Lesser Handling. Tried it with Franklin's Buffalo on SP. I'm having problems on turns at a High speed when I'm using this Wheel Type.

Sports = Yeah, I think it's Balanced. I got more control when turning on Franklin's Buffalo when I used this.

Off-road = Obviously, more handling/control on dirts, etc.

Tuner = More Handling, Less than a bit acceleration ? Tried it with my Sultan.

and the SUV, Low-rider, Muscle, IDK :p

Complete suspension on the Cheetah is the best. When you hit a police car head on, they just go up your car like it's a ramp and you barely lose any speed.

I put SUV wheels on my Bodhi and it turned out lame, switched back to off-road soo much better off-road.  Not much difference on road.

Those aren't tires, they're rims.  The types of tires are in accessories.  The rims don't do anything for your speed or what not on or off-road.  They're purely different designs of rims for you to use.

All the wheels are purely cosmetic and any changes in handling are entirely imagined.

But, how come the "High-end" is harder to stop by braking and turn than "Sports".

And I tried and tested the Off-road wheels with the Carbonizzare, It became better when driving on dirts. I could handle the Carbonizzare with ease.

Great info guys, will def go ahead and check these out for my self.

and please reply back If you noticed something :3

IDK what's the effect of "SUV" to vehicles.

But the off-road is definitely for dirts/grass, etc.

Same with my Entity XF :) I did it a while ago and was shocked xD

there is no difference

Try using "High-End" on Vehicles like Franklin's buffalo and turn it with high speed.

Then try using "Sports" on the same vehicle and turn it with high speed.

It is harder to turn on "High-end" than "Sports" imo.

Suspension gives more grip i think. Same with wings right? The wind pushes the car down which gives more grip. irl and in game.

My suggestion for a test:

airport runway, start at a marker and accelerate until a 2nd marker, then turn as sharp as possible and watch the (hopefully different) results.

then same can be tested off-road and on different surfaces.

someone on PS3 wants to test this with me? add me - sailer74. Include a message saying you're from this topic so I'll know who you are.

It's a placebo. Those who think the tires will change performance will believe they see a change when testing it. If there really is a change in performance then it is minor at best, because I sure as hell don't notice a difference and I'm not alone here.

I want to believe that different wheel styles perform differently. I also believe that the testers may just be having some sort of placebo effect. But it would make sense that each perform differently. I mean, each wheel style also has a tire style. The offroad wheels have beefy mudthrowers, while the sport and high-end have slim, low-profile summer tires. REALISTICALLY, they are vastly different. Though this is GTA, and 'realistic' isnt an normally a good qualifier.

I tend to agree with this. They do not call them tires. They are categorized by wheel style so it's easier to find them for the application/car you want.
