It's so different and unique. The colour combinations are better than standard black+white or black+yellow. That's my  cents.

What's the difference between Mettalic paints and Pearlescent paints is the question. All I see is SLIGHTLY different reflections, both are quite reflective though.

Pearlesant is the next level to metallic, you can add an extra colour using pearl

There is a difference.Maybe not major but it's still there.I just like the creative possibilities it allows.

I just wish I could preview the combo without having to buy one of them first.

It does preview it, it's only the fact that pearl contributes to when the sun hits the car, that's why you will rarely ever see much difference when in LSC

Yeap that's why people say they can't see a difference it's because of tthelighting.

Are they the stock rims? if so how did you colour them? Also how do you add pearlescent colouring? I saw it once when painting my sultan but can't find the option again. I could just be blind/tired as it's 3am.

Metallic black with Hot Pink pearl imo....looks badass to me. Have that combo on my Feltzer.

And for those asking, pearlescent only shows once you've bought a metallic color for your car to act as the base color. It'll appear back on the paint type menu at the bottom.

How to use pearlescent colors.

Use a random metallic color. The Perlescent menu will pop up in the menu.

You can't even see the option for Pearlescent unless you just painted your car with a Metallic color, only then in the bottom of the list (Matte, Metallic, etc) there will be an option to add pearlescent coating.

I use frost white primary so pearlesant is useless for me, tho I set it to Ice White to make Ultra Blue secondary look glittery. Anyone know any good pearlesant for Frost White and Ultra Blue?

They are the expensive $20,000 RUFF rims in sport category I think.

It's just like a pearl coat on a real car. From one angle you see the undercoat but with the reflections at certain angles you will see the pearl color. It can create some very interesting effects. This is my Gauntlet using a Carbon Black undercoat and one of the blue pearl coatings. Can't remember exactly which one. I love the pearlescent combos though. All of my custom cars have one.

When it comes to pearl paints this is what I find the most useful.

the metallic color should always be darker to increase the effectiveness of the pearl paint.  However, I would never use straight up BLACK as that's too dark.

the best IMO metallic - Wine Red ,Midnight Blue, Midnight purple

then pearl paints, tinker with what you like but colors that really stand out are :Racing blue, Dew Yellow, Racing yellow, Hot pink, Lime Green, Torino Red.

for those that don't know yet what pearlescents do,

It's chameleon paint!!!!

changes the actual color of the car depending on which angle you look at it from :)

Probably because metallic automatically comes with a pearlescent anyways. You just have the option of changing that pearlescent finish.
