It sucks that you have so much clothes to choose from and it all is ruined with the look of a bullet proof vest over it.

Just remove it via the inventory menu. Also, there really isnt that much to choose from.

For my character, I look like garbage without the bulletproof vest. Oh well, that's besides the point. To *wear it* but not have it visible, simply hold the back button, click inventory, go to where it says vest or whatever and put it to none.

Hold Select -> Inventory -> Then you can decide if you want to show Vest or Parachute etc :)

REALLY wish there was an option to set the default appearance of vests.

You can also switch between the looks of all your vests via Inventory, if you prefer the look of SuperLight or Standard over Heavy etc

Just a shame it doesn't remember what you set it to whenever you get a new vest.

To *wear it* but not have it visible, simply hold the back button, click inventory, go to where it says vest or whatever and put it to none.

Wait, what?

Are you saying that if I go to my inventory and set the Armor to "none," it doesn't remove my armor, but instead just makes it invisible? Are you sure?

What the hell is the point of that?

Yeah, that's what happens. No armor loss or anything, it's purely for aesthetics, just like the parachute.  There are also several clothing options that cover the vest as well, you'll have to go to a shop to see which ones do and don't

Good to know about the options. I saw that but I thought it would actually remove the vest. Nice to know. I don't like the look of the vests with clothing although I usually have on a leather jacket that nearly covers it anyway.

I play with a woman character and I am wearing a plaid shirt. The vest is underneath by default.

It depends on the clothes whether the vest is always underneath.

The point of it is to show your clothes yet still have armor on. I haven't tried this as I look best with armor on however, I've heard from multiple people that even when armor isn't worn (Turned off by the inventory option), it still protects you. I think it's a good idea if you're not wanting to sacrafice fashion for protection.
