For me  if you talk about multiplayer

Sanandreas MP ( is best mp game ever all games inc . The feel of playing 300 players and a lot modded game modes were simply game changer)> GTA 4 mp(which was very cool you could do free mode as you play and did a lot missions coop  and races were good tdms too)>Gta online(fail- mictrotranstations - loading as hell-crappy no game mode)

Single player

GTA 4 (i liked niko bellic setting that european guy comes to america thing. roman and the gang on gta 4 was much better than all gta series. brucie and thing. also loved to connect all stories via dlc. johnny klebitz and gay tony)>gta 5 (simply awesome 3 characters but only thing that i didnt like it was so like hollywood movies it didint give enough time to meet characters. they should do go first 8 hours franklin then trevor then micheal thing. then after that you can do coop missions but a lot people wouldnt like it for me its meh i didnt even get franklin story neither trevor. i just know micheal game buit on him i think)

i hated gta  sa single ( never played missions after second map) %100 save always helped lol :)

on general

GTA4 >GTA 5> GTA sa

Let the hype of this GTA game fizz down and then ask this question.

Imo GTA Vice city is the best for me anyway. Followed closely by San Andreas.

Peoples opinions will be overly influenced with hype and 'a way to justify the 5 year wait and $60 price tag'. Give it another few months and I am sure their opinions will drastically change.

When GTA IV came out it was my favourite until I completed it then I realised what a colossal f*ck up of a game it was. By far my least favourite possibly of this game (if not atleast biggest disappointment).

GTA V is good but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated. Goty worthy sure but considering the only real competition (imo) is TloU and Bioshock Infinite its not really saying much when there are only really 3 good games that have came out. Oh yea I suppose 'another AC game' is coming out. However yea, it is just 'another AC game'.

Personally, I think V is technically the best overall, but consists of unusual flaws that Rockstar don't realise they missed or intentionally missed. Story is epic, that's for sure. Graphics are f*cking amazing. But we need more interiors, such as the casino, bank interiors, hospital interiors, the racetrack should be active or at least mildly active and so on. SA is better in those aspects which made it so thrilling. Seriously, SA was too good.

Wow! I'm actually shocked with the poll results thus far.

I would've thought the annoying SA fanboys would have hijacked the polls.

This gives me hope that they are the minority.

I was more worried about pc gamers voting on any other GTA just for the sake of it but yeah even with all the hate V is still preferred...

ndeed, even after 4 was released, i played 4 loads then tried to go back to SA but it just sucked in comparison, and this is coming from someone that loved SA when it came out.

with 5's release now, i love it but it's still lacking the better physics from 4, and the great content from SA.

Of course GTA IV and V will be much better to play hardware wise, San Andreas is nearly f**king 10 years old. You cannot really compare that aspect of the games to each other. I myself would not play San Andreas or Vice City now, I have not done so since GTA IV came out, I'm just too use to HD technology now. But that is not realy the point.

I'm referring to how much of a great impact these games had on me at the time when were first released. For me San Andreas wins that.

Of course games don't have as much impact now as they did 10 years ago...we get older and our priorities change. Go ask a 14 year old kid whose first GTA was V and you'll see how excited he'll get when you mention the game... probably the same excitement that we had when we first played SA

Actually, not only that, but SA had way more interiors and the plane physics were better which resulted in amazing gameplay. It was the little things that were right that even helped the big things to make SA the best GTA game to date. I'd say V is definitely better but has so many flaws.

Nah, age and experience has nothing to do with bro. I was MAD hyped up for GTA IV and GTA V, my excitement for both these games in pre-release was sky high, even more than VC and SA pre-release days back in their respective times. If a game turns out be a jewel, then that's what it is. If it don't hit that mark, then that's what it is. There is nothing else to it.

Read Dead Redemption is the only Rockstar game this generation I can truly say was a jewel, but none of the GTAs this generationachieved that status in my eyes. RDR definitely had a great impact on me when I first played it. If RDR can do that to me, then GTA IV and V could have done that, but they did not.

For it's time, VC and SA just had a much greater impact on me, and wowed me more than GTA IV and V with good, solid reasons that I don't need to go into.

1) GTA IV

2) GTA V

3) GTA IV is still the best in the series IMO with GTA V and VC in a close 2nd followed by GTA III and lastly SA.

So now you're saying that if its your first GTA game then its your favorite?

GTA 1 was my first GTA game and to be honest I hated it. I gave GTA III a chance when I heard about it love it. It is one of my favorite GTA games I've played. Vice City didn't give me that excitement III gave me. To be honest Vice City feels like a DLC. Same controls, physics, movement, with a half ass city. ( That's my opinion about the city ).

Then came San Andreas. I remember just messing around a dying cause I didn't do a Single Mission. I was hungry and that feature still does annoy me to this day but at least cheats get rid of it. Having 3 cities and able to fly and jump out and land safely was fun. Able to swim was one of the best FEATURES in GTA. 360 camera angle also was one of the greatest things. Buy cars, property, businesses, and etc... Plus it was the first GTA game to have a countryside. Even added more replay value. The missions were not repetitive and were fun. Next is cheats, cheats in SA are still the best cheats in any GTA game. You can't deny that. So many cheats even added more replay value. You can also recruit gang members and cause rampages and kill more then 2 people before cops show up ( Unlike V ).  Plus having the most cars until V came out even added more. Customization to both cars and yourself had people create anything.

When IV came out I had high expectations that the game will be close to how good SA was. I was hugely disappointed. It felt the main focus was Story and Graphics. Sure the City looked the best for its time it didn't have any crime like SA did. Couldn't even go in the airport with a 4 star wanted level. Took away the army and didn't even put in a tank. The side missions were boring. Pool ( SA remake ), Darts ( In V ), comedy clubs ( WOW how is this fun after the first time you see it? ). The missions were so boring and repetitive made the FEW standout. Three leaf Clover anyone ( Which is better then half the heists in GTA V ). Niko I will say is one of the best developed protagonists. They made his story and backstory stand out. Something they couldn't do in GTA V.

Now with GTA V, I have lower expectations than IV but still high. They said they took all their previous GTA games and combine them into one got my hopes up. What a lie that was. This game seem like it only focus on Graphics and Online. It felt like they gave us a half ass Single Player with just a bit more to do then IV. Golf is fun but gets boring same with Tennis and parachuting. Hunting doesn't even feel as good as RDR. Missions were fun but too short. Story was half ass. Countryside has TOO many mountains. I bet you if they take away all the mountains but MT: Chill and all the underwater area the map wouldn't even be bigger then RDR.

GTA4 was one of the worst online games of it's generation. The fact the game even had an online component was an abomination. R* has obviously seen how online gaming has grown and has tried to address that. Hence, GTAO. However, it has been a bumpy ride so far. They're best game to date in every aspect is RDR - a true masterpiece.

I like GTA SA slightly better than five because of its features.  The two games both have their pros and cons.

GTA V improved on almost everything from the previous games, if you honestly prefer the others massively then your just a fanboy of that game and won't let go.

My order:
1. Grand Theft Auto V
2. San Andreas
3. The Ballad of Gay Tony
4. Grand Theft Auto IV
5. The Lost & Damned
6. Vice City

Was originally doing top 3, then top 5, then I settled on 6 because TBoGT, IV, TLAD and VC were all so close. V and SA are on another level, however, and it was even harder to rank them. I ultimately chose V because it feels so alive. If you play V and then the others, it's crazy to see how much more alive and real GTA V feels. The stories are all great but the latest installment ultimately takes the cake for the multiple protagonists, real world vibe, bigger map, and last but not least the activities. There's a lot more to do after completing the story and it is sure to keep people playing until GTA VI.

No I said the younger you are, the more impact games have on... and dunno how you say missions were short... almost every mission last for 15-30 minutes while previous gta have missions that don't even last for 10 minutes (like go here, kill him, go back)... the story was short yea but every minute was worth it so I'm happy with it and don't think it was half assed, it's actually a pretty complete product that will keep me ocupied until VI is out

People  have to realize

a) the difference between better and favorite.

b) that being vocal doesn't mean being the majority.

Gta
Gta2
And gta londen

In the polls.

80 percent off you probably dont even know them but would choose gta if they played it. Almost all of not all from that game is still in the gta series now... It was the best floppy game ever!!!

GTA V definitely have my favorite misssions in any GTA. The presentation is brillirant and each mission feel different than others. I wish we had more heists in the game tho, those missions were awesome.

It's better than GTA IV in many aspects becaue it lacked features and the missions were too repetitive and heavily scripted. But it had some little things that I would want for GTA V. I like how the gun sounds, the ability to use different combos in melee, and you could go into a bunch of interior buildings.

I think it's better than Vice City and GTA 3 of course.

So, it goes down to GTA: SA and GTA V. They are both equal in my opinion. While GTA: SA have a bunch of features, some of them a little choppy and could be updated, but they have it. GTA V have some features that GTA: SA doesn't have, but it doesn't have enough. The RPG elements in GTA V are too easy to level up for you to see a difference. GTA: SA (apart for the guns) you can mostly see a difference in whatever you level up. And gang wars

What makes GTA V competes with GTA: SA are the epic missions, random events (which makes exploration better), and the GTA: Online.

So, I think Red Dead Redeption, GTA V, and GTA: SA are all around the same level of epicness. They all do some things better than others.

GTA V in everything :^:

I get bored in IV even before finishing the storyline!

in V, only ONE second that I get "bored" in, now I'll start looking for the Bati 801! plottingplz.gif?1

here where I stuck at: which game is the best here, SA or V?  dead.gif

I picked up V because it fulls every single thing SA hasn't

I'm referring to how much of a great impact these games had on me at the time when were first released. For me San Andreas wins that.

Of course games don't have as much impact now as they did 10 years ago...we get older and our priorities change. Go ask a 14 year old kid whose first GTA was V and you'll see how excited he'll get when you mention the game... probably the same excitement that we had when we first played SA

Ok sorry for butting in but that statement is f*cking BS. This game is great but it is easily the shortest of the main GTA games (Gta 3, Vice City, San Andreas and IV) f*ck even the 'mini' GTA's were longer (VCS and LCS).

The game has 69 missions. 18 - 25 of those are heist setups (3-4 per heist) which amass on average 1.5 minutes.

Its a f*cking joke bro dont lie. It frustrates the sh*t outta me. So much wasted potential giving that for the most part the bigger missions were fun.

@ Moondog

ndeed, even after 4 was released, i played 4 loads then tried to go back to SA but it just sucked in comparison, and this is coming from someone that loved SA when it came out.

with 5's release now, i love it but it's still lacking the better physics from 4, and the great content from SA.

I admitted the story was short but every minute of it was worth it
