Hoping for reset/bans but Rockstar are probably too scared to lose any of their playerbase.

Im guessing thousands have done it so i doubt it, that would mean losing even more players than they already have with the character deletion sh*t.
If anyone does get banned, it will be the idiots who made 100m+

Correct. They can't ban or reset the thousands of players who have made money doing this or they risk losing a chunk of their player-base.

anyone who's browsed this forum more than five minutes knows what this is about, but thanks anyway

Of course not, it's a glitch. The only game where you get banned for glitching is CoD.

Of course not, you are robbing rockstar of their microtransactions. you think they look kindly upon this?

I think it's a serious possibility. This isn't like the mission-restart thing, this is a full-blown exploit and it's very very easy for Rockstar to detect who's been taking advantage of it.

No way will they ban you, potentially lost revenue in future DLC/microtransactions. Possibly a server wipe/individual character deletion or reset seems more likely

I think at some point in the future when the game is stable & they re-introduce the cash cards. They may then introduce a policy of banning glitchers.
But only after clearly stating they are going to do so. I don't think they are going to do it retro-actively.
R* plan on running GTA:O for a long time, evolving it as they go. As someone else said in a different thread, we are their beta testers.

After all the character deletion and all the f*cking bugs, they will be banning a boat load of people because i'm sure there others like me who only did it to compensate for lost game time and money.
500k is nothing for the 24 hours game time i lost, so i used it to make 1.5m and i am now happy. I know that still doesn't justify doing it but... I DONT GIVE A f*ck

Yeah, I'm sure R* would make clear the issue will get you banned. I don't think anyone will get banned as I see many people reaching level 120 within the end of the month. I run into quite a few legit players in 50-60 range, leading me to believe that 120 is quite capable in a month.
The money thing isn't an issue because eventually you'll run out. 1 million dollars isn't very much once you start picking car mods up, and filling a ten car garage is quite expensive.

Maybe reset, but not banned. I don't really care if they do it to me though because I've already bought and experienced all of the expensive stuff so I won't have the urge to re-purchase them down the line.

I think only the idiots who have made 20m+ will get banned, there is honestly no reason to have that much..
Just asking to get reset tbh.

Banning or deleting characters or bank rolls would be disasterous for rockstar considering that probably half the players know about this glitch and half have had characters, apartments, cars etc. deleted. Punishing players further for their unfinished, unpolished game would be dumb.

Those who have exploited it to just make a bit of cash (such as 100-200k) are safe I think, but if you've gone full retard and gotten 5m+ from doing it I'd be expecting to be reset.
They're fully capable of seeing how players have made money through the statistics they have (such can be seen on social club.) Those who have earned their money 99.999% or w/e through car sales are screwed.
Also, those people who think "oh R* will be losing half of its player base" - I seriously doubt millions of the online player base have abused it that much.
