I'm genuinely curious. If so why? What for you makes GTA Online more important/better than SP.

I personally rather had a more polished, better written and immersive/engaging Singleplayer than this big emphasis on GTA Online. It only takes away from what once great about GTA, the singleplayer.

In my opinion, Online has much more replayability. Playing by yourself gets boring after a few weeks. So yes, I give a flying f*ck about Online.

I care about it, although I do think they should have done more with single player.

I can't think of any game I've actually enjoyed the online for. I haven't played V's yet because of all the stories of patches introducing more bugs into SP, but if it's anything like IV's it's just a bunch of people running around shooting each other. I don't see the point or pleasure to that. I gather V's might have more of a cooperative element with the crews, so that's possibly some benefit, I'll look into it in the future once the problems are sorted out, but I'm in no hurry. To me there's nothing that can be gotten from MP that you can't do in SP. One of the reasons I like GTA is to see how accurately they R* can re-create an area so I'd rather be left to my own and go exploring than shooting up or racing other people. That just seems dull to me, but exploring never gets old. I find something new every time I go out.

I would've prefered if the 2 discs wholey consisted of content for single player and had a seperate

download for multiplayer when it was complete, I don't have xbox gold so I have no choice in the matter

plus within my circle of friends, one sold his xbox and plays pc stuffs and the other has a PS3,

the rest aren't really gamers, I'm too antisocial to play along side randoms. :p

So I'm glad it's there to provide longevity for those who like that sort of thing

but for me, I would have selfishly liked all time effort and resources go into

making the best single player GTA possible.

I'm not a big online fan, IV's was quite good though, I quite enjoyed the races and deathmatches.  My faves were over crowded deathmatches were people would die, re spawn in front of you and you just killed them again, then got shot in the back by someone who had just respawned there.  They had plenty of laughs, so did eocket launcher only matches in the aiport, again, overcrowded was better - utter carnage and chaos.  But that was the only game I got into online with.  I mostly only play online games when I'm being a trophy whore.

I would much rather there be more to single player.

I don't care about it until I beat the game. And by beat I mean everything. 53 hours on and I'm 56%. Yes I f*ck around a lot.

Once I beat the game then I'll play gta online.

I have played it though, but only 53 mins worth.

I'm just mad GTAO isn't what GTAO could be. I consider it unfinished and overhyped massively. The lack of foresight such as a huge unskippable tutorial (with irritating hand holding black box cutscenes) and the lack of varied missions for people under level 20 has f*cked me off massively. You're supposed to engage people at the beginning and make it suck towards the end, dammit! Not bore everyone into putting it down in the first few hours and then moan that they just aren't hardcore enough to bore themselves silly until they get something interesting to do with their life.

I just want to farm my way to level 100 and cause havoc (although I haven't had a chance, nor can I really be bothered), I'm that unengaged with the story or whatever it is they're trying to pass it off as. Genuinely feeling disappointed by R*, they're normally amazing. So far they've failed to live up to not only the public hype, but their own.

they need a PC release and third party modders to create and maintain servers like they do in San Andreas- MP to keep and maintain order so you don't have a bunch of 10 year olds in there creating havoc. Also expand the missions, available housing, etc.

You know you're going to be able to make your own cops and crooks if you want to when they add the Creator mode right?

That's not true at all. They specifically said Deathmatches and Races.

If you ask me they should have made the online a separate game/mmo thing so gta can get back into being strictly an sp game again.

I like online. It adds extra replayability to the game. Sure GTA is about the single player and story, but online has a part to it as well. Btw, the story gets REALLY boring after you finish it. This is from experience. They could have made it a bit better by adding proper heists in free roam along with planning, and add more interiors like the Casino and bank interiors and whatnot.

I'm still on the fence. It is fun with friends, but with other people not so much. It is very difficult to make money and get xp to rank up. I am waiting for the GTAO stock market to start up so we can start making some real cash, but I don't know when that will happen. I do wish that they would have actually made it as a separate entity from gta V and had released it on PC even if we have to wait for 5 to be released next year on PC. GTAO, The way that they described it seems to be most fitting on PC as a MMO. Considering that GTA 5 will probably be out on PC by at least next year I think we will have to wait to see GTAO on PC before we can accurately judge it.

I love single player and don't consider myself much of an online gamer. That said, I'm all addicted and sh*t lol. While I barely enjoyed IV multiplayer and mostly only played coop and hideouts in RDR, I find myself participating much more this time around. My favorite sh*t to do is coop missions and survival; V has made this much easier and more fun to do. So much so that I don't mind doing other stuff as much to change it up.

Add to this a sense of progression and you've got your basic carrot on a string. Even with all the issues, I'm liking where its going.

What's not to like about it? Roaming around a beautiful city with your friends creating havoc and doing missions is great, I don't see how anyone can dislike it, unless of course you don't have access to online gaming.

Also, you assumed that people who like multiplayer prefer it over singleplayer, where is the 'I like both equally' option?
