Here are a few more things i thought of that i would like to see in GTA VI.

19. Police missions.

20. A realistic health and hunger system. (If your character gets too hungry there health goes down.)

21. Being able to go in the IAA and the FIB buildings.

22. Video games that you can play on with your character.

23. Ambulance missions.

24. Firefighter missions.

25. Snakes, cougars, bears, sharks, fishes, dogs, Birds, whales etc.

26. A huge range of cars. (old and new)

27. Basketball, Football, tennis, and soccer .

28. Bigfoot.

29. Space shuttle to go to the moon. Space buggy. (to drive around on the moon)

30. Tornadoes, wildfires, earthquakes etc.

There is many other things i would like to see in GTA VI but this is all i can think of right now.

@20. Really? And people complain about the friends in IV and the businesses in V, and you want something that will be an even bigger task?
@21. Who says there's even going to be an IAA or FIB building?
@29. My bad for all the other critcisms, I didn't even realise you accidentally confused GTAForums for SaintsRow Forums.

Pick one:

A sci-fi futuristic setting with flying cars, teleportation, lasers, aliens, etc.  Any city will do.  Jetsons GTA.  Make it happen.

Denver in the 90s or later.  Skiing and snowboarding, a bunch of crazy crime cases to parody.  (e.g. Columbine, Ramsey, Batman shooter)

San Fierro in the 60s or 70s.  Hippies and Dirty Harry.

Boston (whatever it is called in GTA universe) in the 70s or 80s.  Whitey Bulger.

Chicago in the 80s, focusing on the hard core dangerous warzones like Cabrini Green.  Also throw some John Hughes style references to lighten things up.  Include a St. Louis styled city on the map, and possibly Milwaukee.

70s and 80s Los Santos in CHiPs style.

Detroit in the 60s.

New Orleans in any era.  Preferrably early 20th century.

Atlanta in the 80s.  Lots of characters to parody and new money players, Ted Turner being the most prominent.

Las Venturas in the 50s and 60s.  The "golden era" of mafia-run casinos.  Fallout New Vegas was good, but it was post apocalyptic, and didn't show the city in action, you know, during the 50s.

Phoenix in the current time period.  Mexican drug cartels use this city as a port of entry and distribution center.

Dallas in the 80s.  The TV show Dallas aired for 14 years.  There is plenty of source material.  Pro wrestling was also big there (Von Erichs, WCCW), and wrestling is often associated with shady underworld dealings and drugs.  Same goes for the Dallas Cowboys of the 80s and 90s.  Make another San Andreas scale map and include three cities - Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

Chicago in the 30s.  Mafia already did this.

Godfather era, post-WW2 New York.  Oops, Godfather and Mafia II have this covered.

The Wild West.  RDR

Medieval times.  Assassin's Creed and just about any western RPG like Skyrim.

  • Female protagonist

I don't see why they can't have a customizable protagonist by now.  Mass Effect showed how you can have a "default" look to a main character while letting the player customize the look and gender.

I agree! San Fierro in like 1975, 1976 or 1977 would be awesome! Hippies, crazy vietnam vets, gay biker gangs, punkers, chinese mafia and latino street thugs.Would have great music, like funk, rare groove, early-disco, psychadellic rock, outlaw country and punk rock! The city would be seedy and full of diverse, crazy sh*t. Drugs and sex! Would make the perfect GTA game. MAKE THIS, ROCKSTAR!!!!

Denver in the 90s or later.  Skiing and snowboarding, a bunch of crazy crime cases to parody.  (e.g. Columbine, Ramsey, Batman shooter)

A GTA in a mountain city would be neat. They could really capitalize on that 90s feel too with Denver in my opinion.

On to the wishlist:

31. An economy that moves. Small businesses would go out of business if you perpetuate crime in certain areas and some storefronts would be replaced with an "out of business" texture instead. Also billboards would switch around every few times you save the game. Stuff like that.

32. A working political system. Campaigning would be a thing you could interact with as a player. If an incumbent mayor's district started going to sh*t they'd get criticism on the radio accordingly. Stuff like that.

33. Secret interiors/caves/little places with lots of thought put into them for no real reason. GTA IV had a lot of places like this, places that looked awesome despite not being involved with the story. I'm not sure whether V had much of this, I haven't played much of V, but it's something I very much want to see again.

34. Pedestrian occupations. An added layer to pedestrian complexity. Basically there'd be like thirty occupations any pedestrian could have, and it would sometimes be worked into random dialogue, and you'd be able to see the pedestrians on their commute to/from work, and go into certain buildings according to what they do.

35. An afro hairstyle. Regardless of what race/gender the player is. I want an afro!

36. Working construction. Similar to the business idea. Minor construction would work like storefronts showing a "not open yet" texture, and later on changing to a regular storefront. Major construction would work like the big construction site in V, where it builds up over time, except it would actually get built eventually. Construction workers would spawn in either case working around the buildings. Same idea could work for streetwork.

37. Hammers, for the construction workers to hold and use as melee weapons.

38. Interiors for every building. They don't have to be accessible, I just mean little doors for pedestrians to open and walk into. Lots of games do it; usually there's like a dark void inside the doors. Bully did it, for example.

39. More interesting pedestrians, like street performers and street preachers, and have other pedestrians spawn around them and watch more often. Especially in very public places, like parks and busy downtown street corners.

40. Accessible buses. They'd work like the subway did in IV, except they'd be a little more chaotic because they'd have to deal with traffic and the possibility of the player planting sticky bombs along the route.

My bad for all the other critcisms, I didn't even realise you accidentally confused GTAForums for SaintsRow Forums.

Y'know, it was his wish list. :/

(Whoops, the continuous numbering threw me off. I guess it's our list now. :p)

I like the Denver Idea too. Pretty cool city plus they could add in a whole bunch of snowy mountains and dense forests and such and maybe a city that parodies Colorado Springs as well.

Note: For my list I'm going with a mindset that it will be set in Vice City

  • Vice City (duh)
  • Accessible Nightclubs
  • Accessible Bars
  • Friends again, but don't make them too annoying
  • Multiple Protagonists
  • One female protagonist
  • Ability to buy houses
  • Buyable properties with side missions that don't suck (Going to get liquor, seriously?)
  • You should be able to enter the properties that you own (Tequila-la anyone?)
  • More focus on SP than MP
  • At least one BIG bank robbery (It also has to pay homage to The Job someway)
  • NPCs that don't threaten to call the cops on you just because you're standing next to them
  • NPCs that don't want to kill you just because you stand near them
  • Tony Prince (and possibly Luis) should make some sort of appearance (where they don't die)
  • More health, so that you can actually explore the city more than five minutes at a time
  • Better gang placement
  • 'Classic' weapons (Chainsaws, Katanas)

I have some more ideas, but those are some main points that I thought I should hit up on.

People are talking about bringing back Vice City in the next one but think about it. Why go to a sunny location with the same beach vibe / palm tree look? Why not go to a place thats hardcore city and redo the grit and grind of the gangsters of New York. I`m not saying we have to go back to Liberty City but why not a place like Washington D.c. or Detroit. Or better, pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is somewhat a medium sized city meaning they can fit the whole place including a buncb of farm land and suburbs without taking out anything. Plus pittsburgh also has many historic monuments. Thats just me though.

The problem with a city like Pittsburgh is it isnt recognizable to a lot of people. Rockstar always takes cues from popular culture like movies and TV in choosing the city and stories for GTA. I personally cannot name one big TV show or movie with a criminal theme that takes place in Pittsburgh. So it would be hard to establish the setting for most players.

I can name a few movies shot in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas

Wonder Boys
Won`t Back Down
Night of the Living Dead
parts of The Avengers
Jack Reacher

Reasanable would be put history in a right order, or just universum. so...

-Vice City.

-modern days,

-houses customization

-many interacting components such as poker table etc

-paintjob creater (graffiti, clothes, wall paintings, tattos etc),

-internet auction system, selling products,

-securing houses, hiring different security agnecies.

-robbing other players houses

-more heists.

-vigilant modes,

Hardly any of those movies are big cultural phenomenon. The Dark Knight rises is the only recent block buster on that list and it technically wasn't set in Pittsburgh. It was set in a highly fictionalized version of New York. Pittsburgh was only used in a few shots I believe (The stadium Bane blew up comes to mind). I cannot name a movie or TV show set in Pittsburgh that was as iconic as Scarface or Miami Vice. Or even Boys in Da Hood or the Ocean's trilogy.

The dark knight rises (which wasn't even set in pittsburgh) the perks of being a wallflower (which is a teen drama) night of the living dead (which has nothing to do with crime) and jack reacher (which is A political thriller if im not mistaken) and the avengers (which doesnt really fit the bill for gta source material) are the only ones on that list that are culturally relavant today. And even still they dont necessarilly fit the bill for something that would make pittsburgh a relavent setting for gta. It cpuld be a good setting as part of a multi city gta. But I just domt think it has the cultural relevance and noticeability that most gta cities have. Especially to people outside the us

You cannot say those movies were not well know. I dont know if you even watch movies or not but more of those were in fact blockbuster hits

Doesn't matter if they were blockbusters or not they weren't that much about crime Pittsburgh is a nice city and all but we need a more violent place and wasn't Steelport from SR3 set in Pittsburgh? Im from the DC area and would like to see a GTA game there but If you want a good city for a GTA game try one based on Baltimore. After watching The wire that place has a lot of potential.

Anyway what I would like to see in the next GTA game would be

-The Ability to use the trunk on cars and store guns, drugs, and maybe bodies in there If stopped by the cops they could search you maybe the K-9 smells something funny...

-Kidnappng

- This wouldn't really sit well with a lot of people but what about the cops conducting surveilance on you after a certain amount of crimes maybe you drive around and you got an unmarked car following you. Of course the AI has to be better in order for this to happen

- Stealing copper wire and the return of bulgary missions breaking into places late at night taking valuables or copper wire then selling them early in the morning by fencing the valubles or taking the copper wire to a scrap yard.

- Pawn shops

- If we crash into a cop car let them pull us over and give us a ticket sometimes you just dont feel like getting into a chase

- If your car breaks down let us attempt to fix it like in Mafia II

- Drug Dealing

- Using businesses as fronts

- Bribing the Pigs

Parts of Dark Knight Rises
Perks of Being a Wallflower
I am Number 4
Unstoppable
Striking distance
Inspector Gadget
Wonder Boys
Won`t Back Down
Night of the Living Dead
parts of The Avengers
Jack Reacher

It isnt necessarily about high crime it is about a general consensus among popular culture that depicts an area as high crime. NYC is actually a safe city (Relatively speaking) but is commonly depicted in the media as a violent and dangerous city.

I agree with wanting Pawn shops as an element in the next GTA. Giving you the ability to purchase weapons and tools as well as sell stolen items from burglaries.

Having lived in Florida, I can assure you that the "sunshine and glamor" is only on postcards. The rest of Miami outside the touristey areas are pretty much urban centers and ghettos.

yeah i believe The next GTA should be in Vice City. Maybe with Daytona/PO as a Paleto bay type city up in the corner of the map? That would be pretty sweet dont you think? Imagine cruising down Nova in GTA

You're familiar with Daytona? That's sweet. Which part did you live in/around?

I'd personally like to have a heist at the Ocean Walk, or whatever the GTA equivalent of it would be. You got all those upscale shops and restaurants up there, why not something like the jewelry store heist, only on the third story of an open air plaza. And oh my god, just imagine how awesome if would be if you had to use that footbridge to cross over beach street to get to your getaway car parked in the parking garage on the other side of the street and shooting at cops from here.

Spoiler

I lived In Port Orange right off Taylor Rd. And Spruce Creek Rd.

And that would be sweet. Im intrigued now by a GTA set In Florida. With Vice As the anchor but some countryside and small towns and Maybe even Orlando and the keys showing up. I really can't decide if I want the next GTA set in that setting. Or SF or LC. It is a tough choice.
