Just like shown in these screens, I've never seen a cop make an arrest on random peds. The only thing I've seen is them getting into a shoot out with them or if I get in a fist fight with a ped and I call the cops on them, the cops come and SHOOT them on sight! Anybody actually seen an arrest or is this something that got cut?

Chortle. Of course not, the LSPD don't arrest people. Those are just propaganda images.

Shoot on sight. It's a tough new stance that I for one, approve of.

Removed from game for the sake of performance, like a lot of other things. It's kind of sad really.

That's a good question, and IF it has been removed, then it's a giant step back from IV, because if I'm not mistaken, it was in there.. Seen plenty of chases mind

WTF is wrong with you? People make a simple observation & you respond like they just insulted your recently deceased grandmother.

There is nothing sexual about it.

What there is however is pre-release media indicating that the police could be seen arresting pedestrians, in effect giving the impression of a truly living, breathing city.

Many people here and around the world may have been convinced, should they have been on the fence, to pre-order the game based on the pre-release media indicating a truly living, breathing city.

Many people would have liked a truly living, breathing city.

Similarly, we were told we could follow a random pedestrian from point A (his or her home) to point B (his or her workplace) back to A (his or her home) at the end of the work day.

That also indicated a truly living, breathing city.

That also may have swayed a lot of pre-orders and purchases in general one way or the other.

Am I making my point?

There's nothing sexual about it. Just recording observations after the fact.

Not ignoring the masterpiece, but analyzing its quality is all.

Who said anything about 'sexual pleasure'. Fine details such as the OP mentioned, help to make a game a REAL masterpiece. I'm not bashing V, I do love it, despite the online issues. But it's a step back in some ways, and a leap forward in others. But I guess anyone with anything that is slightly questioning V, gets people like this, with crap like this...

Back on topic.

@OP, I don't recall ever seeing an NPC only be arrested. Rather strange.

It's probably just one of the little cut scenes when switching to Franklin.

Which still would have been acceptable, except no one has seen it and by now I think its fair to say peds being arrested was not included in the final build and / or only simulated for promotion purposes.

Yeah, I actually did read his/her last ten posts, which are practically identical. I'm sure Rockstar don't want that kind of deluded support. He/she also uses the old "Billion dollars in sales", which you could say the same about COD.

I only defended Rockstar pre-release, as I got annoyed with people bashing a game they hadn't played. Now it's people like him/her that get under my skin.

The only arrest i have seen is during the random encounters in Blaine County where a cop is chasing a fleeing criminal. I cut him off and he got stopped by the cop who then called a sheriff SUV and escorted him to it whilst warning me to keep away from the crime scene.
But when it comes to the city and general NPCs,they only seem to shoot to kill.

Is it even possible to be arrested as player. Those stupid cops always start shooting regardless the crime.

It's weird because this was present in GTA IV. I loved baiting aggressive peds into hitting police officers and getting themselves arrested. Oh well.

Yeah, the only problem with that scenario, was what the cops would say to the ped as the reason they were being arrested. They only had a few lines of dialogue, like "Stolen credit cards" or "concealed weapon". They could just have no dialogue or just have the cop read the Miranda Rights (with a GTA parody twist).

You can be arrested with one wanted star only. After two, they shoot to kill.

I've been noticing how you comment on every little thing. The OP never stated the game is bad. If you want to lick Rockstar's shoes 24/7 then go ahead, but don't annoy us with your dumb comments on every little thing.

OT:

On the contrary, I've actually seen a cop arresting some guy while I was playing as Trevor. Perhaps it was just a random event....

It was present in IV, but the peds would get in backseat themselves so it looked weird. If you notice the LCPD will say things like 'suspect on foot' while the LSPD say things like 'target on foot'.

Yes there is a mission with Franklin where he chases an actress who is wanted by police.  She eventually crashes and the police arrest her and take her in the police car.

Speaking of the cops, I wish there was a "plead your case" button for the cops lol.

There was one time I went to the country club as Franklin and just wanted to play a peaceful game of golf, as soon as I walked up to the enterance this lady straight up and said "Want me to call the cops??...thats it I'm calling the cops!"....then I had to run and hide for no damn reason.

I've never seen anyone get arrested. I have cops shooting peds or a chase end right in front of me. I also had trouble buying the boat dock for Michael because every time I went there, some smart ass trouble making cop would walk directly up to me, bump into me, then go postal like I started it. I had it happen with Trevor too. I killed that cop. I keeled him real good. I also see cops shooting radar by the roads. I walked up to one and immediately got two stars and they killed me. I was like WTF did I do to you?

Put it this way, they are the sort of person who would defend their rapist.

"But that rape was a masterpiece!"

Also, slightly off topic, but forget seeing other peds get arrested, after nearly 60 sp game hours, I'm yet to be arrested myself. Been shot dead countless times, but never an arrest.. Zero tolerance policy to the extreme..

Never realized it, but there are indeed no arrests.

Everytime you see a cop chasing someone else, they won't arrest him/them, but just shoot the fcking life out of them every time.

(Or crash into me whilst I'm doing nothing and I get a wanted level and they start shooting me.... Rockstar, fix the fcking cops! Thank you)
