Hello guys!

My GTA: Sa is running very slow and its very laggy. I bought it in 2007 and have been playing since then. I've a laptop and it used to run fine on it, but my windows version corrupted and I formatted my laptop and changed to win-7 professional. I installed GTA: sa from the DVD-ROM but when I double-clicked the gta: sa shortcut my window went in basic mode but gta: sa did not open, I opened it once more and it opened but when I started a game, it began running very slow and sometimes it started lagging. When I closed gta sa, my window was still in basic mode and it can't get in aero skin. Please help about this issue. My specifications are:

Windows 7: Professional 32-bit (Genuine)

4 GB RAM

565 GB Hardrive

Intel Pentium CPU B940 @2.00 GHz 2.00 GHz

Intel® HD Integerated Graphics 851 Mb

Direct X 10

I'd say (from other posts) that the problem might be your Windows 7 Professional. Seems the Professional edition isn't to keen on running games, more of a business centered operating system.

I also think the same, 'cause it was running fine under windows-7 ultimate, but is there a way to make gta: sa run in win-7 professional?

Have you tried XP mode (Win98 mode if you have mouse problems.)

Is the game installed or running with Administrative Privileges?

Delete the gta_sa.set file.

Stop all background running programs.

Using modes may change the location of save games.

Hi every one. I have a problem and I need your help please. My GTA San Andreas used to run perfectly and smoothly on my Windows 7 pc, then I had to reinstall windows for viruses issues. Now the game lags and isn't as smooth and fast as it used to be. What could be the reason? I have 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, version 2 of the game and I play with DVD inside the drive. Tell me if you need more specifications. Thanks in advance.

If you have a gta_sa.set file delete it.

Install and/or run with Admin Privileges.

Try XP mode (or Win98 mode if yu have mouse issues).

And, don't piggy back on another persons trouble-shooting.

Thanks for the reply. But it didn't work. Is there anything else I can try, like change the graphics card settings? I'm not sure what could be the reason for my problem. The strange thing is that the game used to run perfectly even on high settings before I had to take it to be repaired for windows crashing problems. Now it's supposed to be fixed but the game still runs slow on low settings. Please advise.

Check the video Graphics Drivers.

Maybe trying older ones?

I tried another older graphics card driver with no luck. I also tried the other suggested solutions but my game is still slow. What else can be done to return it back to it's former speed?
