I would really like to know why people assume someone else's age when they have no knowledge of how old the person is.

Is it a symptom of some sort of brain disease? Is it because of the person's insecurities? Is it just meant to be an insult?

Please tell me the answer.

Keep the replies on-topic and logical.

It's because people have an aversion to infantile goats.

It's just an insult. If someone is speaking immaturely or with a lower level of English, it's a way of insulting them. As in, you don't have enough experience to talk about this, let's laugh at how stupid you are.

It's a passive aggressive and belittling shorthand for "idiot". See: tiger, champ, boopsie, cupcake, cowboy (my personal go-to).

Ahhhhhh, this is why the Online section is an utter shambles, the mods are lounging in off-topic. That makes sense.

Kill it with fire.

People still say that? Jeez, time sure moves slow in off-topic. Here's a thought , ummmmm instead of repeating cliched forum insults that died out in the late 2000s, how about locking some of the duplicate spam threads currently making the Online section look like an absolute sh*t storm? Too much to ask? Or would you rather just hang out here and talk about kids?

Thanks, in advance.

It's a dominance thing. When you're talking to a child it's very obvious that you are the dominant of the conversation. Calling someone else "kid" is assuming that you are of higher power than them.

Sometimes it's an inferiority thing. When people know they're wrong or are feeling inferior they'll call people "kid" to try make themselves have the upperhand or look more powerful.

How about being a dear* and reporting what offends you, instead of being a self righteous little dink? Please and thanks. ;)  Also, I have it on good authority that the "people still say that?" joke is far older than "kill it with fire," though you'll have to excuse me, I'm old.

Self-righteous? Dink? What?

You're getting defensive, which, even with my limited knowledge of psychology, would suggest that even you know there's a problem. Forgive me, but I'm simply asking a mod to moderate. Then you can get back to talking about kids. Deal?

What is this, the god-damned Dr Phil show? Report what bothers you or shut up about it. How's that deal work for you? Christ, kids* these days.

Sorry, the rest of you, this is spill-over from a bit of chap-ass he had for being warned earlier.  Where's Voodoo with the crying child picture when you need it?

*case in point x2

Well, to be fair, I notice I'm not the only person complaining about a lack of mods on this forum. So what do you do, resort to name calling. Aren't you supposed to be a mod?! What kind of amateur night operation is this?

You let the duplicate spam threads run and run, then tick people off for posting on them, when people wouldn't even be able to post on them if you were doing your job.

So I'll "report" what's bothering me one last time, the Online section if overflowing with duplicate spam threads, and you're hiding in off-topic. So here we go one more time......please lock and tidy up the duplicate spam threads in the offline section. Comprendez?

Aw, cupcake.* There's a "report" button at the bottom of every post. Use it, or don't complain when action isn't taken. We can't be everywhere, despite our best intentions.

Seems some are dissatisfied with our motterators.

You need to give him a fish if you want better motterating. Being a whiny little bitch doesn't do very much at all.
