The protagonist is a Somalian immigrant hell-bent on destruction.

The location is Halifax, Nova Scotia

The soundtrack consists of nothing but 1970s folk rock and gabber.

The best idea would be Vice City again. It would be set in the 80s, and draw most of its influence from Scarface. I wouldn't want it to be a direct HD copy of VC though. Include a larger Miami & Miami Beach, northern Florida and everglades, and possibly include Havana, Cuba. Somebody mentioned including New Orleans, that could be a good idea. The game would be based on, you guessed it, cocaine trafficking. You'd be a young immigrant from Havana. The game could start off in Havana, and eventually move to Vice City. Once you get big, there can be some missions in Bolivia or Colombia like some have suggested. The pornography business could also be a theme in the game.

--

I really like the idea posted of San Fierro, Oakland, and Northern CA in the 70s. I've always thought we need an Asian protag in a Chinatown environment. You'd need an Asian in SF, and a black guy in Oakland. Heroin trafficking and gang culture would be the major themes.

--

Going to Las Venturas though, has the most versatility for the era it would be set in. You could do modern day Vegas, a 50s Vegas with major mob/Jewish mob influence based on the mob's beginnings in Vegas, or it could be set in the 70s and have a story similar to Casino, with the characters being involved with the mafia. The main themes would be heists (either 3 heists, one for each casino, or do it Oceans 11 style and do all three at once), and running a casino and illegal gambling, etc. LV would finally bring us gambling mini games so we could have something to do once we're done with the story.

--

There could be a massive rust belt region with 3 main areas; Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland. Each area would have its own metropolitan area with ghettos & slums (Gary, IN for Chicago; Flint for Detroit; maybe Akron for Cleveland). Each large city would have its downtown, but Chicago's would be most prominent, although the game would be focused on the ghetto areas. The cities would be separated by railroad areas, country, and Lake Michigan and Lake Erie. The game would probably center on gang culture.

--

To be a setting for GTA, you need to be a unique, iconic city. I can't believe people have suggested Virginia Beach and North Yankton. Even Texas isn't iconic enough unless it's a game set in the old west. There are some cities like Boston that are unique enough, but I don't think it would be a very good GTA. I also don't think Chicago would be very good if you included most of the better areas, since it really is an uber urban area, so it isn't much different than NYC. And NYC has the perk of being made up of islands. I know R* said they aren't ready to leave America yet, but I think 60s London would be really cool. That will probably happen in the future, though. People like to complain that R* shouldn't just remake old areas, but there isn't a whole lot more places in America that are as iconic as NYC, LA, and Miami. I do wonder though, why Vice City wasn't GTA V. If they went in order with LC, VC, and SA, you'd think VC would have came after LC. I still think VC will be in VI. Then Las Venturas in VII.

I have family in Virginia Beach and I love it out there so that is why I suggested it. I once suggested they should make an entire GTA based on NJ where I live I admit my bias. I can't think of another southern location that has a beach and shore kind of feel which I want in a GTA.

Mine would be set in a hybrid between Chicago (large population and history of crime) and Detroit (extreme "Rust-Belt" City decay). Maybe it can be based purely on Chicago in a dystopian near-future, where the economic crises worsens across the US, and Chicago becomes bankrupt like Detroit - except the people won't have anywhere to emmigrate to as the whole US is bankrupt.

Most interiors will be enterable, but will have set archetectural layouts, and random combinations of interior design (furniture layouts, wall-paper colours, room purposes etc.).

Out-of-mission free-roam side-activities will play a prominent role in this game. There wont be any lame Sims bollocks - everything is focused on crime.

Rather than playing Tennis, hanging out with your virtual son or playing pool, you will be buying drugs from smugglers at the docks (with a mini-game to determine how good a deal you get), cutting the drugs at a drug den you own (with another mini-game), or running a small brothel (with a management-style mini-game).

For those who like action, you can also declare war on rival criminal organisations (destroying businesses like in VCS, or taking out key members), work as a hitman for various organisations, help smuggle various things into the city (either driving the boats/ships or being a gunman on board, shooting at authorities in persuit), or take part in extortion (from simply roughing up store owners to pay protection money, to full-blow terrorist-style barricaded hostage situations).

As for the protagonist, I'd make him an older man in his 50's. He would have great experience and wisedom, and still retain his physical strenghts. I also get the vibe that R* has been wanting to make older, uglier protagonists for quite a while (with Niko originally designed to be older and uglier that the final version), but they get pushed back by whiney, sexually confused fanboys who want a protagonist they can fantasize is them in a few years.

Finally, rather than relationships with friends like in IV, now you have relationships with criminal organisations and the law. Be good to them by doing deals, bribing and doing favours, and you will get better deals from them - from drugs, to cars to favours. Piss them off by stealing deals, killing members etc, and they will send various people after you in free-roam.

From street thugs to rought you up a bit, to drive-bys, to hitmen, to heavily-armed death squads, to snipers, to assassins disguised as any NPC around, to blowing up your safe-house.

I am currently working on the concept if you are interested in reading more:

There are two scenarios which i would absolutely love.

- Set during the 1970's in San Fierro and Las Venturas with expansive countrysides and desert land along with small towns. I think that Rockstar need to make a GTA in the 60's/70's.

- Set during prohibition in the 1920's/1930's in cities based on Philadelphia and Chicago with Vice City. Maybe Liberty City could also be included with the time period accounting for the cities being constructed on a smaller scale. I know this would be unpopular to some due to the fact there would be a complete lack of modern culture, music on the radio and fast cars but if Rockstar executes it with precision, it would be a very popular game.

I also wouldn't mind a GTA set in London during the 1960's but i doubt that Rockstar would have any interest in a GTA set outside of America.

I would recycle Liberty City from GTA IV. Your character is CJ who is now president of the United States with his homies. Suddenly there's an alien invasion and you have super powers.

                         Setting

Capital City based on DC and Charm City, Murdaland on Baltimore and surrounding areas based on the  Baltimore washington area in the Late 80's early 90s Durring the crack epidemic. The game is based on the drug trade and politics.

                Plot

You are three characters  a rip and run stick up man that robs drug dealers similar to Omar little from The Wire in Charm City.  An ex IAA agent that was fired over drug smuggling and aiding the enemy and a young gangbanger who is caught up in a gang war.

The game starts in South America in an unamed country with the IAA guy selling drugs to one of the Cartels he is handing over the drugs when the Feds come in and mess up the party with the Cartel thinking he sold them out and it turns into a shootout that ends with the IAA guy trying to escape the South American country but ends up being caught.

Then it shifts over to the young gangbanger and his crew fighting a rival crew for turf with the rip and rob stick up guy watching then after the gunshots are over he takes the drug package and offers to sell it to the young gangbanger and his crew.

The three guys later meet up and form one of the biggest drug operations in the East Coast on I-69 selling drugs to other places like VC and LC you never go there but other crews buy from you as long as they do not set up operations in the area.

The main plot would be the three guys fighitng off the IAA and their allies trying to stop them and rival crews trying to take the crown.

You also help someone who is running for president based on Bill Clinton who has political connections and only helps you because you have dirty laundry on him then at the end of the game he gets elected.

                      Features

Drug Dealing- like the one in Chinatown wars.

Empire building 2.0-  You can buy and sell business  manage employees and use them as fronts for illegal activity.

Lobbying- you pay lobbyists to try to pass legislation in your favor that would help out in empire building

Gangs and  gang wars 2.0-  You can make alliances and peace treaties with different crews. Captains and Lieutenants who you can set who control your turf and soldiers for you or allow them to run their own crew independent from you they are random NPCs with a few unique ones. Soldiers and enforcers who work for them by selling drugs, fighting for drugs, or killing select people like other rivals. After you take over territories for a period of time no one will attack you but other crews form randomly and may take over your turf so the game wont become stale or borring.

God damn it this is perfect. The vibe, the setting, the theme fits very well if you add the gambling feature as well since Miami is also a gambling city like Las Vegas. And I bet the story would be great. Can you make a concept thread of this?

@ExtremeLimitations

I am really moved that you really like my ideas. :)

I was just thinking about making something like a concept thread. Also I could have sworn I put gambling. People always say that Vice City/Miami was only iconic during the 80s. People don't know how wrong they are...Miami was a smaller and new city back then, it was JUST growing. Miami/Vice City has a lot to offer. It has its own style, flavor, culture, people, emotion and feel than NYC(Liberty City) or LA(Los Santos).

But I may start brainstorming for a concept like thread.

Right- GTA V is clearly a masterpiece, it's an amazing game, but I found it boring. I think Rockstar needs to quit basing its GTA's in the USA and start somewhere fresh. Yes I understand that GTA mimics American capitalism and so on but so what, these are all transferable skills. I think the next GTA should be set in Russia, it could be epic. A modern day Moscow-esque city, full of corrupt billionaires, politicians, vice. I also think Rockstar could do a fantastic job in making a Russian city whilst pointing fun at Russian society, we got a small taste of this feel in GTA IV so why not?

It needs to be kept fresh and GTA V simply felt tired and it wasn't the game I thought it would be. Forget the USA, give it a break, though I do love the Carcer City idea (only if it's based on Detroit though, not 'down the road' from Liberty'

PS: Why is it that everyone wants GTA to be set in the USA, is it because you all live in the USA? I live in London and I certainly don't want to see GTA ever set in London...again!

But I may start brainstorming for a concept like thread.

R* is known to make evolution to revolution. And by means of recreating Vice City would turn the old rendition to a new revolution. I support the idea of a modern rendition of Vice City despite my overall love of GTA Vice City because I wanted to see how much the criminal culture has changed over the years and to make a fair choice of making newer renditions of Liberty City and Los Santos in the modern period. Sure 80s was a sure-fire hit in Vice City but let's just move away from that timeline now and focus on recreating modern Vice City.

Also like you I have my own ideas regarding about GTA VI but kinda different than yours in aspects of the setting and storyline. My cues on GTA VI is about re-imagining Vice City and Las Venturas in the modern period (perhaps the greatest challenge ever to rendition two different cities in different locations instead of being compiled as one explorable world on one game since GTA SA and GTA V so far only supports one world but with the existence of another explorable world only seen in missions; e.g. Liberty City/San Andreas in SA and Los Santos/North Yankton in V) and the storyline is multi-faceted since there are 6 protagonists (yep 6, that's how exaggerated I am).

Anyways I would be very glad to see your creation of a concept thread. :D

@ExtremeLimitations

I'm just waiting for people to respond to my GFX request. And yeah crime in Miami/Vice City has changed A LOT! It has actually gotten a bit worse. People always think Vice City needs to be in the 80s, they dont know how wrong they are. Miami is still known for drugs and is still the main entry of drugs into the USA. The Colombian carteks are still active, they are just more low key compared in the 80s. They have learned their lesson, Where do you think the Mexicans cartels get their cocaine from??? Jupiter? No Colombia. Colombian cartels are now using submarines and still have associates in Miami. Miami has a sizable Colombian population. Miami also has Hispanic streets gangs, African American street gangs, Haitian gangs, Jamaican gangs, Bikers, Italian mafia, Russian mafia, Israeli Mafia, Cuban crime syndicates, cartels, white supremacist groups, etc. A modern day VC is PERFECT for gangs. Crime groups go to Miami because thats where MOST of the drugs are. Believe me...Gangs in Miami are now on the level of gangs in LA, probably worse because all they care about is the drugs. Again this is PERFECT!  People seriously do not realize how great a modern VC would be.

Now lets move away from crime and see how iconic Miami is today and see what a Modern Miami/Southern Florida offers GTA.

  • Everglades/Swamps
  • Alligators
  • Crazy Floridan/Crazy hillbillies
  • Rich Latin culture
  • Tropical Environment. And NO! LA/LS DOES NOT have a tropical environment like Miami. I have been to Southern Florida LOADS of times.
  • Rich Nightlife, with many nightclubs and bars. Miami is known for its nightlife. Poster Official General on this forum said that everyone in the UK always talks about Miami's nightlife. People all around the world travel to Miami for its nightlife. This video backs me up.http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Q5Yn_u1V-D4
  • A lot of beautiful people in Miami, its known for that.
  • Hotels and resorts. Miami and southern Florida is known for being a vacation spot. I go on vacation to the resorts in Florida EVERY summer. Trust me I know.
  • Festivals...Miami almost always has festivals.
  • Rappers, actors, singers and other famous people always go down to chill in Miami.
  • Beaches, Miami beaches are more live than LA's...
  • Florida keys.
  • Drugs are everywhere.
  • Miami is a financial center. Downtown Miami has a lot of banks.
  • Miami has a large Hispanic population, probably larger than the Hispanic population in LA.
  • Colombian cartels still smuggle drugs into Miami, they now use submarines.
  • Miami is still the main port for drugs in the USA.
  • The Caribbean Islands are just a hopscotch away from Southern Florida. I.E the Bahamas and Cuba. Scarface the World is Yours game implemented the islands into the game. With much better hardware like the PS4 and Xbox One, I am sure R can have the islands in a Vice City game like what Scarface the World is yours did.
  • Miami has A LOT of tourism. I've been to Orlando Florida a lot of times. Lots of people from different countries there visiting. Miami has way more Tourism than that.
  • People in Miami, especially the females dress half naked sometimes.
  • Lots of mansions in Miami. Just look at the video of Mansions I posted.
  • Sex is big in Miami.
  •  Drugs are everywhere in Miami. In one of the videos it states that you cant find a nightclub where nobody is not doing any drugs.
  • Gangs are growing in Miami and are more violent.
  • Like I said...In Miami you have Italian Mafia, African American Street gangs, Afro Caribbean Street gangs like the Zoe Pound and Jamaican Posse, Hispanic Street gangs,  Latin American drug cartels, Biker gangs, Brazilian crime syndicates, Cuban crime syndicates, Israeli mob. I even here the Russian Mafia is trying to muscle unto Miami. A diverse group of crime groups.
  • Lots of cruise ships.
  • Hurricanes! Southern Florida has LOTS and LOTS of them!
  • The music...Like Salsa and others.
  • Different nationalities.
  • Sharks
  • Resorts in Florida keys
  • Miami is one of the cleanest cities, more clean than LA.
  • Gun permit is a joke in Florida. Can easily obtain a gun. All you need to do is not be convicted of a crime.

Those people who only want Vice City in the 80s are really missing out and are holding back potential from R. Miami has changed A LOT since the 80s. It has gotten more iconic and bigger. Its still a fairly new city. Also 6 protagonist could work IF the map is really huge.

I'd like the setting to be Carcer City which would now be entirely based on the Chicago metropolitan area, including surrounding Detroit/Gary-style ghetto areas with run-down factories and dilapidated buildings (e.g Manhunt). Something similar to Lake Michigan could surround the right side of the map. The period could be a gritty 1970s or 80s setting though not with the bright vibe that Vice City had. Maybe there could be 3 protagonists again with one being a Caucasian guy connected to organised crime syndicates (e.g Chicago Outfit) and the other two being Hispanic and African-American gang members, since Chicago is quite notorious for it's gang violence and is also where the Latin Kings were formed if I remember correctly. Regarding vehicles and weapons, there could be a good variety but nothing that would feel too out of place, though I'd gladly be happy with drivable subway trains, planes and tanks.

There could even be familiar faces. Michael mentions in GTA V that he robbed a bank in Carcer City back in 1988, so maybe he could make an appearance from when he was younger. The soundtrack could include. some Chicago House and Detroit Techno which was popular in the said cities back in the day. Here's a picture of what I could imagine it looking like.

Could you link me to the source of that picture, please? I can see some sexy Cutlass and what looks a like a Riviera parked there... Gotta love the gritty look of these 80s cities.

How about;

Vice City. Set it on 2008. The criminal activity in Liberty City is affecting Vice. The protag has to do something about it.

Hi I am new here and this is my first post.

GTA 6 set in modern day Vice City.

Two Protagonists. 1 male and 1 female.

Two Main Islands make up the City. These are New Havannah and Little Haiti. Three other smaller Islands located in various directions. One located North. One located South. One located West. To the bottom left hand corner or South West of the map you have Mexico City. To the top right hand corner or North East of the map you have small Islands called Paradise Isles that are similar to the Bahamas. To the bottom right hand corner or South East of the map you have Las Peluzo. A larger Island based off of Cuba. The Ocean to the left side reads Pacific Ocean. The Ocean to the right reads Atlantic Ocean.

These Oceans are fully explorable. Although some areas will be riddled with sharks. Some types are not aggressive. And other sea creatures like jellyfish, electric eels and squid.

For the most part of Vice City it will focus on the City itself with its beautiful beaches. However other areas will open up different terrain and also offer the player different activities. For instance with Mexico City the land is made up of desert and mountains. Whereas with Las Peluzo the area is made up of tropical rainforests.

Depending on which area you are residing in the game will offer a sense of survival. In the City you are safe for food having tons of fast food restaurants to pick from. However in the heart of all the trees, bushes and rocks you won't have that same level of freedom. If a wild tiger is ready to strike and you shoot first you will have your meal.

Aside from different land types and weather conditions the game itself will offer tons to do. Subsequently split into categories to make things easier for the player. These could range from Fashion & Health to Nightlife & Nightcrime.
