Since 2001, Rockstar reserved the numbered titles for massive leaps in quality, or jumps across generations.. So does it really deserve to be called GTAV?

The graphics for one, are no spectacular jump from GTAIV (PC at least) and the gameplay is basically unchanged, apart from a few things they brought back which were in San Andreas from 2004; even then it's missing a lot of things from that game.

Think about it:

I agree.  It should be GTA: Los Santos, or something to that effect.  It's even running the same graphical engine and interface as GTA4 (with improvements obviously).

It would sound weird being called GTA: Los Santos or GTA 4: Los Santos.

No, it should be GTA: Los Santos, GTA V should be released on next gens, at least 3 years later.

Or maybe GTA: Rush, but no V

Actually, look at it like this:

Rockstar previously said gta III, vice city, and San Andreas were part of gta, a trilogy story. I look at gta iv and I see three stories they told again; now we get to V and three stories are in it, so I have concluded that they like to work it groups of three instead of graphical leaps.

PC graphics can't be taken into account because they're mod-able and unmatchable in any game on any console. The graphics in GTA V are a lot better than they were in GTA IV.

Plus, GTA V is a massive leap from GTA IV. In terms of gameplay and activities.

So, i don't know what game you're playing, but it's a lot better than it's predecessors and has improved a lot.

I truly must agree. I was saying this (in my head) even before the game was released. It deserves to just be considered a part of the IV generation, with the V generation being reserved for PS4/X1 title(s).

That isn't nearly decent. That's a terrible quality image of that scene. I won't argue that GTA V doesn't looks extremely realistic (but it does look a more so than IV), but that pic will really doesn't do V justice.

I don't think so, the big leap in size of the map plus it's online component is enough to call it "V". Sure it's missing stuff that would make it a perfect GTA, but all that aside, it's enough.

Seriously? You don't think having the 3 characters to switch between etc is different enough?

But it's a lot more than Los Santos, and it makes the game sound a lot smaller than it actually is.

I'm fairly certain the GTA IV image you're using has ENB or iCEhancer. Compare console screenshots, bro.

Yeah, using a photo-realism mod on a high-end PC. Very fair.

GTA III, VC, and SA were all part of 1 trilogy.
IV, TLAD, and TBoGT was another trilogy
V has 3 protagonists making another trilogy.

Get it right if you want question Rockstar on naming their game.

So no GTA V is a perfect title, for the newest trilogy from Rockstar.

Edit: I, London, and II could even be considered a trilogy

Stupid. You cant compare a PC's graphics to a consoles graphics.... just like you cant compare a consoles price to a high end PC's price. I dont know where you got that picture of GTA V but on my 60" 3D TV it looks nothing like that blurry POS maybe plug in an HDMI cable and upgrade your TV instead of your PC.

Yeah but gta 4 and 5 are part of the same era, tbh they shoudnt start new eras because when they do, old charecters cant return as guests so am glad there same era.
