I'd rather they confirmed a PC version.

Is it just me or is this the worst collection of songs on any GTA so far. Loved 3, SA, VC, and even 4 had its moments, but I can count the number of songs I like on 1 hand. Where is the Black Sabbath, the Public Enemy, the Killing Joke, the Stooges, the Rage against the Machine, etc etc.  Not a fan.  :panic:

I don't know who/what any of these things are.

Wow, Non Stop Pop was meant to be a party station back in the late 2009 build of GTAV:

Rockstar really did mess up the soundtrack this time around, not saying it's bad, but there's a LOT of huge drastic changes in stations styles from what they were originally suppose to be.

I know another song that was dropped Ash. "The Time is Now" by Moloko seemed like it was originally going to go on Non Stop Pop FM via the leaked soundtrack listing, but never made it in-game. They cut some pretty good songs as well, what station was "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" going to be on?

@Gst0395

If I were to guess, I'd say NSP FM... However, I belive that Ash did mention that an all 80's pop station was in developpment but was eventually scrapped. Speaking of which, Ash, did you find any tracks apparented to these stations in particular? They're the ones I'm most interested to hear about.

In all honesty, I'm just aiming to get the names and artists matched up before I even attempt to them them down to stations, I am REALLY confused though, because I now have a collection of 90s Manchester Rock songs that just wouldn't fit in ANYWHERE on the Radio line up and there doesn't seem to be a reference point on them so, ...unless these were suppose to be on that 90s Heavy Rock station which was cut the earliest? But even then, exactly what are the odds of a 90s British Rock station being on air in LA?? Very weird choice.

I feel old.  I don't recognize any of the artists on the "current" rap station.

Yikes! R* really dropped the ball on this one. On the other hand, I bet the costs to license the current songs in the game alone were pretty high. I kinda wonder how much consideration went into licensing costs. They'd still have a high profit margin even if they added in those songs for an extra 20 - 50 million or so (don't quote me on the costs, I'm just making up numbers).

like all the songs, but i feel like they could have put some more songs, because i knoe like every lyric to every song, well maybe that is over exaggerated but still.

I'm pretty sure they cut Let it Rock and I Like It because those songs are still popular and could be a sh*tload to license

^ This. Those songs alone that I listed above would cost a fortune to license for 25 million copies or more. R* already spent a fortune making this game, but even with the large profit margins, you could probably add those songs in without too much difficulty. Does anyone have any figures on how much it costs to have a song in a video game?

Wow, there were some real quality tracks removed from this game, I don't even mind some of the modern pop music (which I am far from a fan of). Just a shame they cut the 80's station, probably would have my radio tuned to that 24/7

Wow. I saw your list on the other thread but it was not as extensive as this one. Man im so dissapointed these songs werent in the final build. It would have been a legendary soundtrack but now it is just wasted potential. Going back to V it feels kind of empty listening to the radio knowing some really great songs could have been in. How are you discovering these tracks were cut anyway?

*Mr bill collector? Regulate?? starlight?! everybody wants to rule the world? really?! damn thats downright depressing those could have been in V. :(

@GourangaMaster: I'm finding these tracks in the games GXT and log files, same way cut tracks were found in GTA IV, except here they're not under ZiT but instead in their own chart area as trackid, everything is seperetae so I'm taking time to get rid of tracks that are actually in the game and then finding out which tracks match up to get the cut track details, also radio stations names and formats are from the games internal file names, which do not match the final game, which is where I've found the basics of early stations genres (90srock, jazz, etc).

Awesome work mate. I found it kind of strange the mix of songs in some just jump between very wide generation gaps. Almost as though the songs that were clearly meant for 80s or 90s stations were thrown into the nearest genre/station. I swear as soon as V goes to PC i am dedicating the independent FM station to all these cut songs.

damn, yeah, so many really great songs were cut like 'let it rock' or 'radar love', some really awesome classics. well let's hope to hear some of these in DLC's or something (still hoping for something like EFLC or undead nightmare).

Yeah I get what you mean. Listening to Nonstop Pop it just doesn't seem right to go from an 80's artist like Hall & Oates to something modern like Kelly Rowland.
Ogdens Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces was more than likely intended for another station too, it just seems way too out of place of Los Santos Rock Radio.

For those interested I've finished going through the files and wrote up an article about the radio in Grand Theft Auto V as well as listing OVER 130 songs that were cut or alted out of the game, you can read it here: http://bit.ly/16yobvX

Ahhh, thanks for that. It appears that a good portion of the artists for cut songs actually had a song make it into the game (e.g. The Cult, Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks). It's a real shame Vinewood Boulevard Radio became what it is now too, was looking forward to some 90's rock.

Why is this news? We knew the tracklist even before the game was out, which is almost 2 months ago now (the PSN leaks )

I feel the same way. For me, the radio stations on a GTA game are a huge part of it and I played Vice City so much that I knew and still remember the playing order of damn near every song on every station.

GTAV is definitely at the bottom of the list for radio unfortunately. There isn't much there...and I'm hearing the same songs more often than in any other GTA game, meaning a shorter playlist. I'm extremely disappointed with this portion of GTAV, one I was very much looking forward to enjoying more than I can right now.

I can't see them adding anything else at a later date, once the game is out there they don't want to spend money on licensing anymore, they just want to keep it cheap and do in house development work.
