Never have and never will care for online in any game, it's just sad that every company is conforming to the multiplayer-only gaming era. I will always play single player, but it's disappointing that Rockstar didn't do as much as they could have in single player, as they focused only on multiplayer.
The great thing when the PC version is out is that there won't be any multiplayer-exclusive items, or stuff exclusive that greedy "editions" stunt Rockstar pulled, because a simple trainer will allow me to access everything, not to mention modding to improve this game drastically. GTA was made from an amazing single player experience, but now they're throwing it away, and act like gamers who only play single player don't exist. I just hope the future of the series isn't like this, otherwise there won't be a next game for us. Why can't they just cater to both? If they add something to one mode, why not the other? Imagine how much better GTA V would have been if they actually cared about the single player mode.
They really only did this to squeeze consumers of their last cent, with things such as that horrible micro-transaction stuff. Not to mention they lied to us, promising lots of features, only to have them exclusive to online. I don't want to be forced to play online to get the features I was promised. Lying to consumers is terrible. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we can do anything, I think in terms of modes, us single player gamers are the minority, as it seems the majority are multiplayer gamers, but that shouldn't mean Rockstar leave us behind. It's an amazing game (with obvious flaws), but I play this game for single player, and that will never change for me. I have no problem if you like to play online, but many of us don't want to go near it. Multiplayer is just full of kids acting like they own GTA V (as in, they think they can tell others what to do, and that they're always right).
It's like Rockstar pulled another Max Payne 3 stunt, where they announce something big to drive up sales of something else (announcing GTA V to get Max Payne 3 more attention), they really only made GTA V so they could pull in more awareness to the online mode. They only went ambitious on the online mode, and ignored single player. I want the most out of the single player experience, too bad Rockstar don't want that, they know that multiplayer is where the money is made, and if that means to completely ignore single player, then they'll do it.
It's great to see there's still a number of single player-only gamers. There's no way I'm conforming to today's gaming standards.
