The minigames were a waste of resources as expected.

Shoddy and half assed are some ways to describe them. I can't help but think that not only was it not necesary to include these pointless minigames, but this stuff really doesn't belong in a game like this, at least when it is at the cost of other things that are more important. Just how much time, effort and resources were put into these? I can think of a number of things right off the top of my head that I would rather see, and I am pretty sure most would agree.

More cars and larger garages. The car list is OK, but I'd rather see more instead of lame minigames, and they could've used the resources for more garage space.

More safehouses. 1 House each? REALLY?

More animals. Why are horses not in this game? The code was already written for it from Red Dead. Minigames. were more important for some reason.

User FM. Is there anyone here who would rather have minigames over being able to play your own music? Didn't think so.

I could go on about many little things that could've been improved had they not wasted time with the minigames, but you get the idea. I absolutely love this game besides the obvious issues with the police, and the minigames. I wouldn't change much but is there anyone out there that would rather have these minigames than having any of the things I listed? If you can fit minigames, fine, but not whens it's at the cost of precious resources that should be allocated elsewhere.

well i like the mini games . golf is good as well as tennis the races are cool, and the shooting range was really fun. the only mini game i dont really like is the triathlon as it is just hit x to win.

but calling it shoddy ?? id like to see you do better how well do you think a golf game is going to function in a 3rd person shooter game or tennis for that matter.

That final triathlon was just tedious.  Then to hit right on the D-pad two runs in a row, 15+ minutes into the race.....the rage!

Yeah, the most worthless mini games are yoga and triathlons.

Whoever thought those games would be better than things like gambling or vigilante missions should be fired.

Yoga... I just don't know what the thought process there was. They would have known it would be hated but they did it regardless.

Everything else is fine.

I'd prefer casinos over yoga. It's a game about money, why not have casinos? It just doesn't make since. inb4itsforonlineonly

And another thing, you are right about the safehouses, and garages. There's a bunch of cool cars I want in my collection, but can't due to the small ass space we have. :(

The reason the mini games exist is to give the player a sense of normality. It is a gameplay device used to subvert and trick you into the belief that this is a living, breathing world.

The whole game is based on this subversion (peds/weather systems/bus routes etc).

Just like life, there are things YOU may find no interest in. But this doesn't mean others share that lack of interest. This game is the sum of its parts.

It is the reason it is so good.

Darts has been the same since Amiga

Tennis is broken you just have to press x

I like golf

Shooting range is good

3rd Triathlon would be good except its scripted to death, on my second attempt I was distracted off the bike, I was waaay behind in 4th and they waited for me at the running stage.

Everything else is a submission with a hacked global leaderboard

Tennis is exceptional, i mean who buys a tennis game? and online it will be super fun, there is enough dept to make it fun, golf is decent but i feel to much rng, without showing wind direction. darts is good, yoga is for the lolz and porlly didnt take f*ckall to program, its a novelty. Gambling is missing for obvious reasons, wich whould be dlc, they said the first actual big dlc will be adding new islands, if they do it right we might just see vegas yet!, also there IS a casino ingame that says "coming soon" on it.

The problem is that they built the game around Michael, he is essentially the main protagonist, but he's just some fat old white guy that lives in the hills, he's f*cking lame, and that's why the mini games are lame, yoga, golf, tennis and triathlons were all built for Michael if they built it around Trevor or Franklin it would have been way better.

As for there being no gambling, the games about heists so being able to go to the casino and gamble would defeat the entire purpose of the game, which is to make money through heists, but that shouldn't have stopped it unlocking after the story ended, but I guess if its in online all is forgiven.

Am I the only one who likes yoga? I mean yeah it's not something do everytime I play, but I've tied it a couple of times and it's not that bad. Besides it builds up Michael's special ability so it's not really pointless.

I think what people have to realise is the game's designed for an audience. Not just them. As someone said above they give a sense of normality.

One reason I find games like JC2 boring is the only  thing to do is blow sh*t up, but that gets boring after a while. However there's no real alternative. With GTA V (like I found with GTA IV) killing gets tiring so why not participate in a game of golf, a yoga session, tennis etc to break it up?

OP: There are horses in GTA V,, but they're quite rare. I saw one in the first couple of days after getting the game along side the highway outside of Sandy Shores.

In regards to gambling why would there be gambling when there's a stock market which technically is gambling?  Yes it's not the same as going to a casino and playing poker, blackjack etc, but the principle is the same. Invest into a company and make a killing or lose it all.

Everyone talking about yoga being a waste of a mini game, I beg to differ, I love it. Very relaxing.

I wish the triathalons were cars, boats, and planes, not running, swimming, and biking. It's so tedious continuously tapping A, especially on that last one. 28 MINUTES, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Yeah, it was a pretty ridiculous idea. I will never do that particular triathlon.

Pretty sure this topic was supposed to be about minigames. You're clearly a troll.
