Rockstar has promised us that, after a while, GTA Online will head into new areas.

Which of these you think will be the next one after LS and Blaine County?

Probably North Yankton cause they have already coded that. And Liberty City cause they just have to make minor changes. There is no f*cking way we'll see San Fierro, Las Venturas or Vice City unless they've almost finished the coding on them areas. And to use all that reseasrch and coding time to online only would be a completely waste of money.

So Liberty City and North Yankton is the only probable destinations.

I'm confused. I thought GTA Online was going to be basically the whole Los Santos map, but online. It will be only a couple of districts then?

Edit: Misread LS for LC.

Im hoping for Las Venturas, but I would honestly expect north yankton to be the first, they'lve already done alot of the work towards it. Also a snowy enviroment is something gta has been missing for quite some time.

What if they would add snowmobiles in North Yankton? Would be f*cking awesome!

As I put in another topic, I really can't see them making the current map bigger. I think, whenever they add one of these, it'll be a world unto itself.

Think - 16 people in the current world isn't much and there won't be ALL that much contact; if they made it bigger, it'd only be worse.

they already said they will add the entire gta world to online eventually.. it is planned.. but liberty city is next.. north yankton isnt even finished... just the small area you play in during the mission.

you have to remember this is GTA online... not GTA 5 online... from now on GTA online will be its own thing (like an mmo.. like WoW for example) and they will constantly be expanding it... (probably for a price like expansions or something)

they wont all be linked... just like in the single player you will have to go to the airport to go to these locations.. just like how you had to board a plane to north yankton.

liberty city is referenced a bunch of times in gta 5... even packie makes an appearance talking about a failed liberty city heist... and the 3 CE online parent characters for online are all from liberty city.

They won't make the map bigger but would probably make you fly to those cities.

And who knows if they will increase from 16 to 24 or even 32? And 24 psychos running around robbing banks and doing criminal stuff is quite enough in LS i think.

I'm positive it'll be a really expanded version of Yankton.

They've already got lots put into it in the singleplayer alone going to waste. Cars with snow on them, characters reacting to walking in deep snow, if you explore around a little bit you notice there's a lot put into such a small part of the game that you barely ever see. I expect they'll find it easier to expand on that first.

thats true... but liberty city is already finished (from gta 4) they just have to add missions and heists... north yankton is just a small area only used for a single mission and needs alot more expanding.

well.... 2 missions.. i forgot about the intro.

and LC would need a lot of changing too. With Yankton, they've already got something in GTA 5 to work with. LC they'll have to bring it over and I'm sure it'll need some sort of conversion in some form. I don't think it's as easy as throwing LC into GTA 5/Online just because GTA 4 was still this gen.

they said they want gta online to cover all of the gta world eventually... that is 100% confirmed.. the only thing we are discussing now... is.. which map is next.

they want gta to be like a real mmo... constantly evolving and expanding.. they said it was their dream to do so.

Never. They're just on record quoted as saying they would very much like to simulate the world as GTA Online progresses over time.

You start like you start San Andreas but you have no money and that's when you create your own player

I said san fierro because I would like to get more of an andreas and even though las venturas is more interesting (casinos), I would like to see san fierro first with more of a forest countryside.

this - except R* are known to put alot of effort into animations / interiors / clothes that are only used once.. so maybe not .. but logic says otherwise...

In the spirit of heists, I would love to see Las Venturas next. Taking down a casino with a group of friends with a crazy plan and over the top escape route seems like a winning situation to me...

There is already a Casino in Los Santos which you will probably be able to do an heist on.

You do realise how much research and coding you have to do to make Las Venturas as good as Los Santos?

Probably Liberty City. They have almost everything ready for it: map (needs graphical update), unique cars (taxi's) and they need to add a few interiors (apartments).

The problem is to do the radar map. Its different in GTA IV as you probably know. But i don't know how much work it is to upgrade it.

Not going to lie, It is time they made a new location instead of bringing old ones back. So I wouldn't mind seeing North Yankton, but I would LOVE to see Vice city in a new generation model, would be amazing to see.

I was just saying i'd love to see it next. it'd be amazing to go on a casino spree... yes it'd be a crazy amount of work, but when has Rockstar turned their nose from an enormous project? It wouldn't be illogical to expand on the state of san andreas like the good ol' gta:sa and have all three cities connected in one world without even having to hit up the airport. it might not be the next city, but it could already be in the works.

on the other hand, Yankton and vice seem like they'd be the smaller maps of the choices so those may be put out as they're working on the larger scale project.
