I have all the properties that I want and pretty much bought all of the clothes from all stores, no need to buy any cars because I stole the ones I like, have all the weapons...

NOTHING TO DO IN FREE ROAM!!!! I have 200 million for each character and nadda to do..

Game may have an economy but if there is nothing to do wtf is the point? Would go on a killing spree but the cops would own me in a few minutes.

Would at least be nice if we could buy that heavy armor we used for that one heist.

Are you aware there is a stock market in this game?

Money is now more relevant than it has ever been in a GTA game.

so the only thing to do in GTA free roam with a huge f*cking map after you beat the missions is sit there and stare at your phone playing the stock market? lol, what a joke.  there is nothing to buy, if you buy cars you cant save them, you dont need money for anything.

hooray i have a billion dollars and I cant buy anything, how fun!

The game didn't force you guys to earn hundreds of millions / billions of dollars

If it weren't for this forum, you'd end up with 30 mill and youd be scratching your head just like everyone else.

Also... what are you comparing to? That is leaving you with such a bad taste in your mouth? There is more to buy / more to spend than there has ever been in a GTA game. What more do you want? if there were 100 more businesses and houses to buy would that make any difference to you at all? You'd end up in exactly the same place..

Well there's only so much they can do. Even in SA after you bought everything you could still sit on a heap of money at the end.

GTA V has plenty of things to buy. It's the best GTA for it really, but nothing's perfect. Unless you can come up with a solution e-mail R* about it.

My stock market was bugged and didnt work the whole game so I did actually only end up with 26 million at the end but it doesnt matter because there is nothing to buy thats worth buying except for modding a car now and then.  The title of this thread is that money is useless, and it is. so you even if you have a billion dollars you buy all 5 properties that dont do anything but give you tiny amounts of money, much easier to make money on the stock market.  I started a new game and now markets appear to be working.  you can buy a couple cars that you can find for free on the street, you can buy a few clothes but if you bought every piece in the game it would be less than 100K probably, and Who cares about clothes, this is GTA not the sims, I wanna drive around and shoot people and have police chases but you cant cause they are insane and kill you very fast so you have to run away and hide in a bush for 5 minutes if you get one star because they shoot you dead on one star for some reason. so you dont need to waste much money on ammo either, lol!  You can spend lots of time and money modding cars, but you can only save 4 of them so whats the point? you have to waste time modding the same car every time you want to drive it because you cant save it? dumb.  they dont give you sh*t for money in the beginning of the game when you need it but you have tons at the end and its good for nothing, lol!

I thought of that, that money will be useless after a while, but even I don't have any idea what they could have done in the game to make it more useful. Haven't played the game so far, but I think it will definitely be better than in IV and there are much more possibilities than in IV.

yea I really dont know what you would spend it on either in a single player game where there isnt much to do after the story missions, but the fact that they let you end up with so much its absurd and nothing to spend it on is kinda silly i think.  This game is really just a beta test for the online version it seems like, there will be much more stuff to buy there for sure, but this money will not transfer so it wouldve been nice if they had made all the houses and stuff that will be available online also available in the single player after you beat the final mission so then at least you could spend it and buy a bunch of properties and houses and when you mod your cars you can save them in different garages spread out over the map and buy more hangers so you can collect all the aircraft.  there are for sale signs everywhere, i bet you can buy those in the online game.

They could have at least given us safehouses to buy. Why does Trevor have a sh*t tonne of money but still live in that caravan dump? Makes no sense. I've got a billion dollars and you're telling me Trevor can't buy a house in Los Santos?

We can't buy more garages...So we can keep like what? Four in that main garage and three maybe at our safe houses? It sucks.. GTA 4 didn't put so much attention on money so you couldn't whine too much about it but this game gives you a stock market which is only useful sometimes.

For the sake of Trevor's character I don't think he'd care about buying a big house in LS. Hell I bought a suit for him and it felt weird.

He likes to live life hard and f*ck sh*t up. Not sit around the pool all day sipping martinis in Rockford Hills.

It simply isn't consistent with his rough lifestyle.

For anyone who played Saint's Row 2, they could get ideas from that. You could buy several houses, and after buying them could even customize the houses. They could have easily implemented something like that. I'm not saying all out like the Sims (but how awesome would it be if you could buy land and build your own house?), but just preset layouts or upgrades you can purchase.

Another thing is you should be able to buy the businesses you do transactions with, like in Saint's Row. You should be able to buy Ammunation franchises, Burger Shot franchises, etc, and receive a discount there or something. It was also disappointing how only Franklin could buy a LS Customs franchise, and only that particular one, that is in the middle of nowhere.

They also should have put a yacht in the game, that costs like 50 million or so.

And GTA4 allowed what? 2 cars at each apartment which was what.. 3 or 4?

GTA5 lets you store 20+ cars, as well as helis, planes, tanks, ect ect. Leaps and bounds ahead of GTA4 so again I ask you: What are you comparing GTA5 to that makes it fall short in your eyes? Some imaginary perfect GTA game that suits you? That will never exist..

Would have been nice to have been able to buy different houses ranging in different prices and able to buy upgrades for houses. Maybe instead of a very limited 2 car garage maybe upgrade to 4 so now you can have a total of 8 stored cars on 1 charater

Would have been nice if their added more Helicopters and planes that actually were entertaining to fly in for more than an hour... Ok we have a Buzzard but its a piece of crap and its hard to fly... why not an Apache helicopter, and to go even farther why cant we customize the color of our aircraft or boats... seriously... Why am I limited to the color black for every boat and helicopter... maybe I dont like black, what then R*

The guns only have 3 different colors... really? only 3? And one of them I can bet you not may people like to use...You can go hunting in this game, so why not give some kind of green camo....Why not Bronze camo for completing all missions, Silver camo for all missions with silver metal and Gold for all completed with gold metals... and make them available to be purchased at the Ammu-nation...

Why add a casino in the game that we can't even go into... A casino would be so perfect because Rockstar could add so many prizes to it.... considering sense it would be a casino, maybe a Golden camo? or $1,000,000,000? something worth the time and money to obtain... and when they loose all their money, they have something to do again...

More boat ideas...

Yacht (Maybe even a few different types aswell)

Aircraft Carrier

Pirate ship (Why not)

Those extremely fast racing boats

Helicopter Ideas

Black Hawk

Apache

Dolphin

Or any other Helicopter in the Military...

Plane ideas...

ANY JET/PLANE IN THE MILITARY!!!

  • opening that casino in single player would have been one way instead of teasing it
  •
  • a car show room like the one at the beginning of the game - where u can sell and modify custom cars,  would have also been a nice garage to keep and display your cars / bikes
  •
  • more safehouses to buy
  •
  • really expensive vehicles and guns to buy that do not spawn openly in the game world
  •
  • really expensive custom clothes and jewellery
  •
  • being able to wager money or ingame races that have progressively higher difficulty

loads of things that could have been implemented with the current anaimations / textures etc or those from previous games which R* has done with other in game assets

Are you aware there is a stock market in this game?

Money is now more relevant than it has ever been in a GTA game.

yeah, and it's boring as f*ck

it shouldn't be a mandatory 'feature' in a game. They're forcing it on us, it's useless to offline players, and it's f*cking bullsh*t

On one side:

There are people who complain not getting enough money making in the end game.

On another side:

There are people who complain they got too much money (and don't know what to do with it) in the end game.

^ and that, my friends, is a microcosm of the real world.

Well, it is safe to assume that the OP used stock market to get the money.

That or used the Hidden Package glitch.

trevor eats people.... hes a cannibal... he couldn't do that in the city... he prefers to live out in the dessert where he can get a quick human meal. (and also kill as much as he wants with no trouble)

where does it stop? what you suggested there gives you about one hour's more gameplay & what would be the point of getting a discount when you are rich anyway?

I love customising and to customise your safe-house was great, spent more money and it could be to you liking. Yes there were very limited choices but R* could easily put a lot more ideas in than that of SR2. I also liked the idea of building you own home like Skyrim has done. So much open space and plenty of choices with a range of different buildings. Betting on the race horse, gambling your money away all could of been there as well. Everything was given to me in the game and didn't have to purchase anything which was a bit of a shame, could of worked our way up but the only property I bought was the Hangar, dock, helipad and the sub dock. The other properties were a bit of a disappointment because you can't even enter them and they are constantly nagging you to help them out. With a big game and a huge map there are lots of potential for money wasting but Online is yet to come and hopefully DLC will help us get rid of some of the cash.

What would be really good is if Rockstar took polls of their most suggested ideas and which ever one is voted up the most gets added in..... which game companies would do this, or listen to its customers.

For your information, that's what they are doing for gta online. They are making the players shape gta online itself

Money, useless at the moment other than for buying ammo. Casino will surely be opened for the online community. I too have finished gta and am now stumped as to what to do. I thought I would play cops and robbers but it seems I cannot play cop in a car mode! WTF now I really don't have a reason to play gta anymore, nothing to do. Loved the missions. Now nothing to do. Nothing to modify, nothing to build nothing worth buying, nothing to use. Can go searching for UFO parts but Internet research tells me there is no reason too. So why would I play gta anymore..
