I think most people agree that San Andreas is the best GTA ever so it would be great to se a remake of the real San Andreas. But it would be better to make the game even bigger in the remake and then new missions and new locations for all hidden packages etc.

No need for a remake, unless it goes onto iOS like 3 and Vice City and they up-res it a tad.

Fan of Vice City.I liked SA and V,maybe there could be some new things in V but its great. San Andreas is great but that Gangsta $*it is not coming back.Gangs times are over, time for some new things. Even Saints Row that started as a hardcore gang story abandon it long time ago and become some sci fi parody of everything...gangstas don't buy games, nerds are.

Hell no. SA should be put to rest. Jeez

why would a sa remake be bad?

and can u please upload a real pic of urself?    im willing to bet ur a ugly lil f*cker   and when we see ur pic   no one will pay u much mind

Wtf?

Anyway remaking an almost 10 year old game would be a complete waste of resources and money I'd rather see go towards another R* game or preparing for a next gen GTA.

u just got it gta 5....and if the game is so good why u not playing it now?

why are half the people still on the forums and not playing gta 5....i think we all know even if u guys dont wanna admit it

Oh, f*ck off.

If San Andreas is so good, why the hell don't you sit down and play that? Yeah, I took a break from GTA 5. Why? Because some of us want to discuss what we've seen so far.

Guess you can't really do that in a game as bland as SA, can you?

No.

GTA V is the closest thing to a San Andreas remake you're going to get. You're never going to get a carbon copy remake (look at the goldeneye remake for example).

An exact remake would never feel as good as the original anyway. R* need to look forward, and come up with new things. GTA Chicago? London? Moscow? Sao Paulo? Monte Carlo?

This is coming from a massive SA fan.

If San Andreas came out on the PS3 with the same graphics and budget GTA V had would it sh*t all over it ? Yes, yes it would, do I think there should be a remake no, no I dont, but would I buy a remake, yes, yes I would have I been smoking weed no, no not today.

What I do think R* should do is make a gang DLC starring an Angel Of Death a Balla and a cartel foot soldier, along with the replacement of yoga, golf and tennis with real sports like basketball and street football, it would sh*t all over the vanilla game with ease, feds raiding your house for drugs, the ability to set up or raid drug deals like you would do with heists, burglary, drive bys, raiding rival gangs drug houses, human trafficking, pimping, kidnapping and a whole lot more, real crime not 6 lame heists planned by some fat fa**ot called Lester, and some yoga, and golf on the side, f*ck outta here with that bullsh*t.

San Andreas bland? It's a masterpiece. You must be a real Rockstar hater or just some nerd trying to be cool by criticizing the best games out there.

i still say for so many people to be loving gta 5 u guys sure sit on the forums alot im reading ur other topics, and some of u seem to not like gta 5 as much as u put on...

ive even seen some of u flat out be racist on here...

i dont know man, i sure as hell wouldnt be here if gta 5 single player was more like gta sa with tons of features...

but then again i dont wanna do yoga either

You know this logic is kind of retarded. SA gets talked up like it's the holy grail yet you fanboys spend more time on here jerking yourselves off to it than playing it, it seems.

Or am I missing something?

yea your missing the fact we want to enjoy gta with all the old options and a ton of new 1s on a better engine....how hard is that to see?

like take a real poll   who the f*ck wants yoga...? really...

who wants arcade driving in 2013?
who wants a lifeless set of npc's?
who wants all the sh*tty songs?
who wants tennis?
after u beat the story and side missions whats left to do?

why wouldnt you want more features?  cn u give me a real reason why you want a gta 5 that looks better but feels smaller, more boring, and less stuff to do then a game 9 years ago?

maybe u working on the forums for Free is ur thing and you dont mind going without...

but most of us out here who make alot of money dont work for free...
can i prove i make alot of money and have a awesome job? yes i can and not only can i show that but im around rich famous people all the time...got pics and videos to prove it...and will share if u so want to see it...but please answer my questions....

i will post all my sh*t here in this topic...u can see what i look like, and what i do for a living!!!

u know cause mods like u keep trash like me in line...for free right!

What are you talking about?!?

Please...no more talking about SA. It was good for it's time, but we need to move forward. What the OP was asking for was basically GTA V but with CJ as the main character if I understand correctly.

You probably are the dumbest asswhipe I've seen in ages, and in this forum, there are oh so many. His looks have nothing to do with his opinion, or legidity as a human being, and if you think otherwise you are the most narrow-minded, stupid idiot around, and people like you with prejudices stretching out to the outer reaches of the Universe, should not be allowed to even express opinions, talk about taking them seriously by anyone with an intellect higher of a slug. Anyway, there is no point in remaking GTA SA, it's been there, it's been played by millions for hundreds of hours, we've seen all SA offered, adding better graphics, physics would not change much, and anyway to properly remake that game would a massive amount of work to meet the standards of today's gaming industry, remake all of animations, sound quality, physics, mechanics, all of the mini-games, and side activities, I mean everything except for story, which leads nicely to a conclusion that there is no chance of it being remade, too much work for a product that has already been released, why would rockstar essentially want to release a game that has already been out there? And even if it did got released, I'm pretty certain, people would just as cynical as they are of V or IV. Also, V in a way is a sequel to SA, it may not have as much in it in SP, as SA did, but everything that is there is of highest quality and responsiveness.

I was beginning to think I was alone by not wanting to do the 'ghetto' thing.

I'd rather explore the mafia route again.

I enjoyed SA. I've enjoyed every GTA. I like Frank's story too. It was necessary to have a character we can all enjoy.

The rags to riches needs the money guy
The reluctant professional criminal
The crazy mass murderer reckless classic GTA nutcase.

We've had an immigrant in IV obviously GTA III was more of a blank canvas. Vice City was the mobster taking over a city story.

Each time it's hitting a note with somebody. Not everyone wants to be in 'da hood'.

I hope they continue to keep the characters fresh. It's tough now because we've been everything from a mafia gangster to a gangbanger to a redneck to a biker to a war weary immigrant. But just by taking Franklin and starting his CJ style story at the end it stops Frank being CJ 2.

It will get tougher to keep breaking fresh ground.

GTA V has disappointed some people simply because it doesn't have some of the ground breaking features the R* brought through in other games. They set their own bar. GTA V is a great game being compared with other great GTA games. It was sort of expected to have every feature from all R* games to create the ultimate R* game. But it isn't. It's a good game in its own right.

Until the day comes where we have LA Noire facial expressions as a bloke plays poker in a casino he owns with recruited body guards stood around him moments after he ate an interactive meal in an interactive restaurant... until that day I hope they just keep things fresh and don't go rebooting great games just to give fancy graphics.

R* are victims of their own success. If they stepped out after GTA III and then released GTA V with all it's features then its would blow our minds. They set a high bar. I love their games. All have something that sets them apart.

Rockstar should just make an anniversary remake of the graphics for san andreas. Next year (2014) will be the ten year anniversary for GTA San Andreas,

For the 10 year anniversary of SA, I see Rockstar adding CJ for GTA V DLC at the very most. I can't imagine they would recreate something with better graphics (which would cost a lot) that wouldn't pay off rather than move on and have a huge payoff like they did with V.

I dont see how remaking san andreas would really be.. diffrent? People have modded more detailed versions of all the SA cars into the game, If you dont like SA Physics, epople have modded SA map into IV, some mod will probly happen with V when that comes to PC. I really dont see the point in an SA remake.

GTA dosent want to just be the same game over and over, because by remake Im assuming you people mean to.. Remake the game, people, cars, missions In HD era.

Also RichBlackGuy, Nostalga is overpowering all of your judgement and common sense.

Go play GTA V.

Hey there handsome.

I've said this millions of times: they could build San Andreas again brick-by-brick, precisely how it was but with improved graphics and people would STILL bitch and moan about how it's not as good as the original. You just can't please certain people no matter what you do because it's their nature to, well, be total f*ckin' hipsters. You see this behavior with other games, like Morrowind, Metal Gear Solid (the first one), and a bunch more. Hell, you see this behavior with everything: from music, to television, to movies, to women, to politicians, to food, etc. etc.

Some people just feel special knowing they experienced a great game a long time ago, they feel like they're part of an exclusive club, and if they admit they liked X game as much or more or, like normal people, didn't compare the games to begin with because they're not obsessive tards who feel the need to scale every entertainment product up to an old game they liked, then they're no longer part of that little exclusive club.

With that said, there are people who were genuinely let down with newer installments in certain aspects, and some that may prefer the others due to very good reasons such as atmosphere, but at this point, I doubt it's even 1% who voice their opinions on the topic.

A GTA SA remake would be a gift and a curse. It'd be a gift for critical thinking fans who grade games off substance, but a curse for the graphic obsessed fans who have lauded IV and V over older GTA's simply because they've become blinded by the current standard of graphics.

If GTA San Andreas were remade with the same graphics and engine as GTA 4 and 5, then there's a chance that this would expose GTA IV and V as not being as good as people thought and leave a lot of people embarrassed. We had a poll a month ago about best GTA and San Andreas won easily. If GTA SA, IV, and V were all made with the same technology, it could possibly damage any argument of IV and V being better than SA. So it would be good, and bad depending on which side you're on. If you rank GTA games off of substance, content, replayability, fun factor, single player free roam, customization, properties, and things that ACTUALY matter, a SA remake would be heaven. But if you rank GTA games based off of graphics, flashiness, and glamor and irrelevant sh*t that has fooled you into thinking IV and V were as good as SA, then you'd be in a for rude f*cking awakening if SA were remade in HD and you'd seriously have to rethink your mentality for judging video games.

The graphics weren't the only thing holding back the limitations of the ps2. The map size is quite small, the ps2 couldn't handle a size and scope of a big map, so that would be a downgrade from V.
The ped interaction and the ped diversity would be a joke on new gen consoles.
The mountains, lack of wildlife and countryside would make people want to go back to V.

The limitations of the PS2 would make a remade San Andreas a flop.
