I completely DISAGREE with people getting into game files.

Not only is this a form of cheating, it ruins it for those that want to solve the puzzle intellectually. It's a form of desperation, boredom, and impatience what will lead to a sure anticlimactic ending. What happens if you do find something? It certainly doesn't mean you'll be able to do anything about it technically.

If you're against cheating, you should probably stay off the forum labeled "cheats and tricks".
Not meaning to be hostile, but nobody is making you read this stuff.
I suggest you make an alternate thread or subreddit called "cheat free mystery" and have purists researching there using conventional methods.. to each his own, why argue?

I'm not against using cheats... You're talking apples and oranges and make a foolish point.

A) We're trying to solve a mystery. You can use SANCTIONED cheat codes for which I think is perfectly legit. Dissecting game files to glean information on solving a puzzle is another form of cheating. You're cheating yourself out of solving a puzzle.

B) I'm not the one who put this thread in the "Cheats and Tricks" section. It DOESN'T belong here.

C) I suggest you go back to the drawing board with your weak rebuttal.

Ummm no.

He made an idiot out of himself because using game cheats and dissecting game files to solve a puzzle are two different things.

@ proxygeek
I get what you sayin and on some levels I actually agree
however for all your efforts...
it's falling on deaf ears
I'm just being honest

I think the point has been made you don't like them hacking to game files
we've read that in your last several posts

however, they will do what they're going to do
you, nor anyone else for that matter have any way of stopping them

or any right to if you could

I hate to be blunt

but this has been the argument of more than just you
I myself didn't understand the purpose of what they were doing at first and made the very same argument
Try to understand that they are just trying to see if all of this has a purpose
that all the hard work and energy that we have been putting into this, isn't done in vain
but at the end of the day...
the argument is a moot point

please don't take offense
I'm saying this in the nicest way possible
All I'm telling you is the truth

Ill post this in the forum also and its long.I noticed them while swim the NW area around paleto bay down to ft zancudo. I noticed them I don't know if something in this area or if the lines on the mural just signify that something's underwater in general. But if I may give u a theory ( this theory is how I found the ripples). So face vhiliad from paleto bay . This places the sunken on your left side. The ufo in lower left of mural has dashes below it like its flying upward. There is a hatch under water in the bay with squiggly a cable next to it that looks like the crack in the egg. Also note that on the mural the egg has a curve below it which to me looks like its sitting on something ( bottom of ocean?) then following this would put the jet pack somehere to your right side. It too is pictured flyin upwards. this puts all three object moving upwards exept the egg which is the only one truly sitting on the bottom. Drawing lines through these on a map shows it all line up putting the Jetpack either in the altruist camp or underwater.

I took chop to the Altruist camp and all he did was sniff out the two weapons in the house close to the altar. I also took him to the t01 and t02 doors on the way there and also came up with nothing.
However I didnt have any specific time or weather settings

Out and about but had a quick thought - may be the beer speaking but The alien stuff reference karma. everyone was saying how you play the game but thatd be a dick move on R*s part to make you restart the whole thing.  Wont be on to try anything like this till tomorrow likely but hear me out.

What if its something along the lines like Franklyn stole the movie theater JB car and has to return it, the aliens are in various states of undress later in the game because they cant finish the movie without lead car/actress you ejected from car.  Return a JB decommissioned for karama/continue shooting the flick/last level is a shooting space movie for the studio.

The files are referencing another UFO ground level there, trying to think of some type of scenario outside the box thatd make sense.

is that the only place that's getting more UFO references?

And I know you already found files that give a idea of a UFO there, but did you find more files to go along with it yet? If you could find more stuff to hint at a UFO there, you're going to be amazing as f*ck.

Well guys.....

My workload has just gotten much bigger.

I am going to start cutting back even more here.

At least for a week, maybe two.

I have just been chosen to partake in the chiliad mystery sub reddit team.

I will still be around to link up finds from reddit like I do.

But I think I am out on testing any theories until I get the swing of things on the sub.

The Grid is still on but I really would like to hear from The Grid Team.....

I reckon there's something with the dead trees. Obviously the one from the hippie camp looks to be a clue. Now if you go to the farmland that's on the edge of Chiliad then theres another dead tree next to some towers which have red arrows on. They're actually pictures of wheat I believe, but they look like arrows and are red. Then if you carry on straight, slightly up the mountain, there's another dead tree. Not sure where to go from there!

The old dead tree theory has captured many of our interest throughout the duration of the mystery, but we have found no common logical link unfortunately.

If you want to bake your noodle some more on this on....check out the tree in the rear left hand side of the gravestone of the Man that wrote the poem on the Textile City mural..................................

http://en.wikipedia....dstone_1024.jpg

Spooky eh?  :panic:

On the subject of the Textile street mural, can anyone (probably AnevilVet) explain the significance of changing the wording of the origional poem?

I have mulled this over and there are 2 logical ideas that I can think of, but am willing to listen to others input on the subject.

1.  Copyrite?  By changing the wording slightly they could use this quote without fear of copyrite infringment to the origional creator.  Downside to this is that he has passed away so I am not sure it is relivant.

2.  The words were changed because we cannot "loose" the game.........but then surely that would indicate that the mural has relivance to something ingame........why change the wording and put it on a huge mural if that is not the case?

I did a whole thread on the fact that this could point us to the Psyc report at the end of the game (which I still fail to see the relvance to, unless it is part of the puzzle) but apart from spending 4 days looking at the report, the only thing I could point out as very strange was the fact that you could change the Psyc report into different languages on the social site and the last 3 lines of the report are always in English (confirmed by a few other people), which lead me to try and see if there is a any hidden message or code in those 3 lines.............I came up with nada, but that does not mean that there is nothing to this...........

Please do add in your ideas gents.

PLEASE NOTE:  The origional poem is written in full in my signature below..........helps me to keep it in mind.

Cause Franklin's missions are green.

Michael's are blue.

Trevor's are yellow.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. They will have changed it due to copyright reasons but also to suit the game. After all, it refers to the psychological report that you get at the end of the game.  It doesn't matter who you save or who you lose, the decisions you make can affect your stats at the end of the game.  The official guidebook to the game indicates which missions affect your endgame statistics.

Regarding the text going around the bottom, it can't be 100% confirmed what is said as some words are missing but it appears that there are two phrases here.  Start at the spiral symbol and go clockwise and you will see -

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen

and

With men all things are possible, with women all things are impossible

A Google search of the second phrase brings up Matthew Chapter 19 Verse 26 - 26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”.  This Chapter has Jesus speaking to the people of Judae and contains the well known phrase "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.".  Nothing of any great relevance but it's fun to see the comparison with the main storyline where Michael's idea of heaven (being content with a family that loves and respects him) only happens after he commits a lot of crime and becomes rich.

Atari_Rainbow_by_dracadiosa.jpg

when I found that statue/sign I went into overdrive due to the colors, and searched everything that was related to the stadium it refers to.

The stadium is where you go to audition for an "X factor" mickey take type show, as indicated by the site on the ingame web.  That made me search the stadium from top to bottom (thoroughly) and find nada, as ever!  Although it would seem to indicate that these places will get some use from DLC.

Way to many big (time consuming to make as well!) areas that seem to have no real point in game (I know that some missions use the "space" online....but it still seems very under used!)

On a slight side note, has anyone else completed to 100% noticed that the videos on website pages in game no longer work?

I think people have provided audio files which indicate that in future DLC packs for Single Player there will be usage of the Casino and the Arena.  I desperately hope that there will be some Vice City/Saints Row 2 style demolition derby event at the arena.

As I suspected, that bloody psyc report!  Why does it bug me so much!!!!

Psi symbols, last 3 lines always in english, the ability to infuence it's content, being on the social site.............all these things just whiff of R* shenanigins!!!

Let it go Mac, take a deep breath and let it go...breath in through the nose and out through the mouth......perhaps some yoga!  Arrggg!  Yoga = mystery = epsilon, phyc reports, mountains, murals, spacedockers, naked peeps, UFO's=BURQUUUURRRRRKKKK,!  = chickens...which leads to eggs.......oh Feck here we go again!!!

Oh don't lead me down that road please!  The whole "cast of thine cane" quote from the Epsilon tract got me looking into Cain and Able side of life....which led to trying to kill michael on the last mission, and then Trev, and re-search everything I had previously searched!

Who said religion shows the way!  It led me to another 7 hours of searching for nothing!!!

just woke up gotta get ready for work so only have a minute but that's odd that you're bring up the whole licensing thing

and no I'm not looking to bring this whole subject back up again
I just saw the coincidence and odd connection between the two
apparently Warner Brothers or one of the other major studios we're trying to make a movie out of that book ready player one
but ran into tons of licensing issues
basically from what I gathered they're still going to make the movie
only at this point the plan is to keep the main plot line or something to that effect and ditch all the references
they said that the original author of that book made references to games like Donkey Kong, pacman, Dungeons and Dragons and several others
maybe they did already and no ones made the connection at this point
just thought it was interesting given the subject that you guys are talking about

@Killaudio
yeah there's some cool dead trees in this game even worn on the past that leads up Chilaid not too far from where the face can be located on the mountain

and to quote myself simply because with all the arguing I think my post went unnoticed

I was just informed a few minutes ago that the file that references the face on Chilaid is called DD

and that this was supposedly a game artists

my apologies if I miss that post

is this absolutely confirmed 100%?

**edit**

when I say 100% confirmed I'm referring to the fact that this is definitely an artist that worked on the game

I'm only asking about the file name because I've never fully agreed with the idea that it was the face of Michael and if the file name is in fact DD it could bring some relevance to this
