I've heard of the bad things, but I'd like to know if there's any positive aspect to the game

Hmm positive aspects.... "son if you truly try hard and put in the time you too can do drugs, rob banks, marry a stripper and have two kids one who is kinda a slut and the other is a hippie... Oh and son if you rob enough banks you can someday do the BIG SCORE...."

Seriously the game isn't for kids... DUH DUH DUH.

It;s not recommended.

Don't be surprised when your kid comes and asks

'What's this?" while getting a dance in the strip club

If you've raised your kid with common sense, and logic, then you can... but if you've let him watch cartoons, play with toys, and baby him... you might not want to.

There are positive aspects to gaming. How old? You can let young kids play as long as you make sure you limit the time they play to about 2 hours a week. If they get too involved and are on it all the time it could effect their psyche when they are older. GTA V is too realistic and violent for developing brains.

It's a game for adults. In saying that, a mature 16 or 17 year old would be fine with it.

The more kids that end up playing games like this, the more likely we'll see new laws coming to power etc to make it harder for us to get what we want. Whenever I hear some 12 year old kid playing GTA over the mic it drives me nuts.

Sure but don't act surprised when he comes to you one day asking why his willy is hard after f*cking an in-game hooker or two. Or when he starts calling all his friends niggas and calls every woman he sees a ho or a bitch. Or when he walks into the room one day and whips his dick out (like Trevor does in the game).

But seriously maybe you should be a parent and read the label on the case that displays why the game is rated 17+ and make the judgement on your own.

Sure, there's tennis, golf and even yoga if he's homosexual enough to do virtual stretches with another man.

Smh.... tsk tsk...  RANT!!!

Developing brains can be molded.... if you teach your child... at a very young age.... then the chances of them also being logical are higher, then if you just never spend time with them...

I understand, scientifically that the brain isn't fully developed until around 21.

But there are children with no guidance who don't do foolish things... in those cases its their "chosen" social environment.(not their environment)

Don't let your kids watch disney channel then play GTA... Disney channel isn't life... GTA is more life than Disney...

there are things you shouldn't do, as they have consequences.. life is rare(another subject)... be careful of who you trust.. etc. these are more important than hannah montana having a bad hair day...

This is one of the main problems with our society... children aren't treated like they'll one day live in a world that will have all this sh*t in it, and they aren't mentally tough to say no, look the other way...

Talk with your child, if its not too late, it can be at a certain point, people will do what they want.

/rant

Thing is,anyone and I mean ANYONE, Could play it, no matter what age, people always suggest hes gonna randomly walk into the strip club. Either way, hes gonna learn this sh*t when he gets older. No point to stopping it. And possibly he'll know how to defend himself(Like someone tries to bully him), he'll know just to knock the f*cker out. Dont baby him, youre gonna make him believe in lies and make it seem like the world is nice. I dont recommend him playing, but Id saying theres nothing wrong either.

How old is your boy? I was just a young kid for my first GTA. Grand theft Auto 2 been playing them all this time 20 years old now. I turned out alright.

If he's very mature for his age I'd say possibly. Just be warned there is very mature content in the game make sure he can handle it before you decide.

I dunno if you play games at all. Best way is to play it yourself and decide if your okay with your boy playing it.

This has to be some kind of a troll...The answer is NO! We don't need any f*cking squeakers on multiplayer, better yet buy him Call of duty instead.

I agree children shouldn't be babied, but if you introduce them to violence and sex too much when they're too young you will have problems. As adults we get desenitised but are mature enough to not let it effect our behaviour.

It's not our age or experience that completely lets us be mature either - your brain develops physically as you grow older. For some, say an 8 year old, it could lead them to do things you wouldn't expect, and it only takes a couple of them to go on the news and we end up with games being banned.

As a parent, I'd ask myself these questions:

- would I care if he's looking at tits or stroking a stripper?

- would I care if he was playing a game where you steal for greed?

- would I care if he was playing a game where you can shoot anybody and usually get away with it?

- would I let him talk to random people with a microphone on the internet unattended?

- do you care if he's exposed to lots of offensive language?

If the answer to all is yes, then sure.

The game is one of the best games ever made. It's not a matter of quality. It's just not a game for kids. Don't buy it for your kid. You might consider buying it for yourself though.

If he's already playing violent video games, and you're confident he's mature, it shouldn't really be an issue.

I doubt he'll suddenly start going out and running over animals or shooting people.

Just as long as he's not one of those teens that yell and troll through the microphone :p

Edit: just my 2c, some people will still disagree with anyone under 18, but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt as a parent because you had the sense to check it out first.

You must have not understood my post... and the guy you responded to has the right idea and SHOULD have children... we need more people to teach our future generations that the world isn't a cartoon... or someplace that mommy can make it better...

True about the brain, as I mentioned in my post, wrote a paper on it... but you CAN mold your child... look at children raised in Hitlers Germany, or under racist parents... children can be molded to be logical

Also... have you ever seen porn? A majority of the girls do it b/c they were kept away from boys and told that sex is bad or taboo... now they have sex like 4 times a day with different guys for money...(I like porn though, and thats not a bad decision, its just that this way of think is one of the reasons why... lmao pron is great, thats another thing about children sex... anyway..)

I know that people will continue to sit there children in front of a tv and let the disney channel play, give them toys... and teach them that sex is bad... that's why we are in teh state were in...

At 15 your child should already be making logical decisions... BUT this is only true depending how you raised him, starting at infancy..
