Pretty much as the title reads. What are some games or a main game that you loved, that many people talked down on and got some bad reviews.

Mine?

tumblr_mn6bsdCzn51qd9jlto1_500.jpg

Alot of people hated the Deadpool game. I f*cking loved it. I loved it more than some of the loved DC games.

Mainly because I was ALWAYS a huge Deadpool fan. Loved this character for awhile now. The game was pretty accurate of him, and sure it got somewhat repitive, but as a long time DP fan, I loved it.

Payday: The Heist (70)

M.A.G. (76)

Formula One Championship Edition (74)

Postal 2 (59)

They all scored under 80 god dammit. These games were too casual unfriendly for people (except for Postal)

Not sure if these are all of them.

The 2008 Prince of Persia reboot. I thought it was amazing and I didn't mind the new direction the game was going into. Unfortunately most other people didn't agree.

Of course I preferred the trilogy, but still, I loved the reboot. I read somewhere that the reboot was also meant to be a trilogy, so it's a shame those plans were cancelled.

That's the only game I can think of at the moment...

Edit: I just googled this Prince of Persia, and the game actually received very good reviews :/ 8/10 , 9/10 etc. Where the hell did I see bad reviews????

Then how may I ask are you on a GTA forum?

Mine would have to be Postal 2, but the only reason it probably did was because of the amount of violence.

Duke Nukem Forever.

I didn't LOVE it, but I thought it was a good game. Yeah it had it's problems, but it showed Duke Nukem just as well as 3D did/

In all honesty, the Kane & Lynch games. People despised those for reasons I didn't quite get, one of the main complaints was that the characters were terrible, no redeeming features, etc, but I liked that, you're playing as a psycho and a criminal full of hate.

The choices they took with Kane & Lynch 2 I really liked, and Shanghai was done great, the HD Cam effect put a lot of people off but me, I liked how it worked, and some of those lighting and straining effects have actually passed on and some even appear in GTAV!

They were rough games, but I do feel like they got a lot of hate than it actually deserved.

The first K&L game was flawed in alot of ways... though the atmosphere/story made up for it mostly; K&L2 was great despite its minor flaws. Not worth full price (which I paid for it unfortunatly) but awesome nonetheless.

Apart from that, Vietcong & Fist Alpha (both top notch FPS games and will forever be) and some others that I can't recall.

Kane and Lynch 2. I dunno why but i played the sh*t out of that game. it got very bad reviews, and they were kind of right. its gritty, linear, and got repetitive and somewhat tedious levels. which is why i f*cking loved it. you spend the whole game shooting enemies and getting from point A to point B . then finish off the mission and jump into another one with the same exact route and idea. gets boring after a while, but i had fun playing it. not every game has to be open world with massive sh*t to do with tons of cars, weapons blah blah blah.. to be considered good.

I loved Alpha Protocol, the only thing was the aiming, but despite that it was an awesome game.

Sonic 06'. I loved that game, it was one of the best Sonic's I played. Or maybe it's because I was young when I last played it?

Inversion, 59 on Metacritic.

Everyone took off points from it for being a Gears of War clone with slighty better graphics and the gravity mechanic thrown in, but that's why I like it. Gears is a great game, if it's a Gears clone, what's the problem?

Sonic 06 and Final Fantasy XIII. Both are really great games to me. Sure a little linear in XIII and Sonic 06 has a lot of glitches but both games are still awesome to me.

There are two games that I thought were treated unfairly when released, and they're on my top 5 favourite games of this generation.

The 3D Bionic Commando game (not Re-Armed), and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

The Kane & Lynch games for their innovative multiplayer modes. Story was pretty entertaining, though not at all incredible, but I've never experienced a multiplayer mode quite like it.

The Getaway got pretty bad reviews

No it didn't.

Kane and Lynch 1 had great multiplayer modes and was interesting to play the bad guys, doesn't deserve the hate it gets. KL2 was just awful though.

Alpha Protocol stands out for me, I loved how its practically the only game where your choices ACTUALLY make a difference in how the story plays out, unlike in ME where its all an allusion and none of it matters in the ending. Even if the gameplay isn't great, I can at least admire their effort they went to with the branching storyline.

Sonic 06'. I loved that game, it was one of the best Sonic's I played. Or maybe it's because I was young when I last played it?

You haven't played that many Sonic The Hedgehog games then.

Yes, it did. For a game, that's a really poor score.

Lol what's wrong with you people  who think that seven is a bad score?

All these bought reviews f*cked up the numbers, I guess Ten years ago you'd be happy if you got a 7 for your game (I have a lot of old PC Gamezones with a lot of 3's/4's/5's for very decent games.

I'm right there with ya.

I actually played through it twice.

'Not sure what people were expecting and why it wasn't well received.

Yea this isn't a movie or an album. If you ever notice review trends, Anything above an 80 or an 85 is considered good or excellent. Anything in the 70's is okay to pretty good but the low 70's and anything below that is usually bad

The Punisher video game only has a 6.6 on Gamespot, I think. Not bad, but I think it deserves more.

Call of Juarez Cartel. It has its flaws but the plot, 3 characters and LA vibe saved it for me.

Kane & Lynch games too. Best shooter series after Max Payne.

Saw the thread title and immediately pictured the Kane and Lynch series in my head. Love those games.
