....
Proof for certain features can not be provided as it is all ascertained by hacking game files. You can look in certain files, not just configuration files, and find a ton of clues to features that are currently hidden. If you find these clues, you can make best guess assumptions as to how R* will eventually include this code.

I would expect that all those nice things left over in the files are unfinished ideas, buggy code that could not be fixed in time, or functions that had to be taken out to get the game to run adequately.

There were similar clues in GTA IV of buildings or houses for example that looked like they were going to be enterable or functional later, but it never happened.  I think everyone believes that a lot of great ideas in GTA IV were left on the cutting room floor in order to get the game out the door.

I think those elements were dropped, but left in the code as benign nonfunctional bits, rather than try to extract them and risk buggering the game database.

You know, a lot of this makes sense. The Merriweather stuff especially, since we read those GI/IGN previews before the game launched and they talked about being able to call in airstrikes and such - that would fit the Merriweather bill.

Most of it doesn't even seem far fetched, the only thing I wonder about is the real-money radio stations.

The casino/auction/properties/banks/etc. all sound amazing, though. I've got a couple friends in on the beta, and they're VERY tight lipped about it, but they have completely stopped playing single player to play it...so there's that.

Some of these (eg death match and race editor, mission editor in future) have been announced by rockstar. Some are logical assumptions based on the trailer and online reviews by places like ign. Some seem to be speculation. 'Found it in the game code' proves nothing. It all sounds cool but we'll know in a few days anyway.

Edit: I really really hope there's poker. Co-op and social are my interests in online, not so much PvP. Yes, I suck at it. That's part of the reason.

I've seen this movie before. Speculation gets going about vague things Rockstar said, or some guess work using a newspaper article, and people start to drooling and hyping themselves up.

Then when the product comes out, up goes all the threads.

"GTA Online boring?"

"Only apartments to buy in GTA Online wtf!"

"Rockstar has lied to us again.."

"Where are the bank loans and jobs?"

You people can get to hyping yourselves all you want. I'll be there to laugh when your threads start going up.

Alright Mac, I figure you're sleeping right now but if you can answer this tomorrow I'd be grateful:

In regards to the casino, will there be high roller/unlimited tables/slots/betting that allow us to possibly make hundreds of millions/billions? I figure it could break the economy pretty fast if there were, but I can't stand casino games that limit how much you can bet to low amounts.

R* needs to hire this man. Although he sounds delusional, I like where his mind is as far as what should be in the GTAO. If ANY of that is real, please take my money. Lol

Otherwise no credible sources, I'll only dream for a game to be that dope. APB came close to this... hopefully R* takes notes of where that game failed.

Aside from the Cops n Crooks mode, will players be able to play on the opposite side of the law? There are a lot of rumours about this.

Excluding any future DLC's, you will be able to do bounties similar to those in RDR.

So, as far as RP goes, you could technically take the role of a bounty hunter although this is not technically a "class" you can assume and be known for.

Also, bail bonds is a confirmed business type in GTAO. You be able to own a bail bonds business. If you own this type of business then you and your crew will be able to go on bounty hunt property missions to track down NPC fugitives that jumped bail.

Will these missions be generic? So say, I could keep completing these sorts of missions to no end? Or is there a limit like in singleplayer, and the missions are unique?

Don't toy with us, OP. Although, unless you really had nothing better to do you wouldn't just type this up to troll.

I actually agree on most of these speculations. They are all great and very realistic. Everyone who is being a dismissive prick are just ignorant.

I really speculated on most of the things you brought up, before i read this post. I went looking for others who speculated on the same thing and I found your post. Great finds and glad to see Im not the only one speculating these kinds of things.

Playing GTA online, I encountered a screen while loading that I got to briefly glance over, It stated that your character should get a job/career so that they can earn money and be less conspicuous to the police... Quite obvious that has not been a released feature yet. I think the jobs that you would have are also tied to the in game online stock market.

Interiors in buildings are also shells as its been mentioned, which is a huge factor in this. The fact that heists are going to be released as a new feature in the near future is also HOPE and pretty solid evidence that ALL of this is possible. Paired up with the fact that R* focused on GTA online as a large portion of the game. And that it is the most popular game to date? Hell, they would be stupid not to add additional content. Knowing GTA and its attention to detail, I would say some of the things mac has said are not too far off. and if anything, they will be released as DLC.

When has any online game had more features than the single player? You guys have retarded expectations and that's why you're always let down.

You may want to rethink that statement, and then google some sh*t and then delete your account. What a dumb comment, but anyways....

OP, how are you going to post all this ramble which I didn't read by the way. And post no link or anything to verify. Making this thread 100% invalid.  That being said....

Heh, I was trying to find out information on upcoming possible DLC doing a Google search and this gem of a thread popped up in the search results.

Now that Online has been out about two months... it's funny to read back on the OPs prognostications.
