Maybe because he is the main character and the best one??? Trevor is a f*cking prick and Franklin just stands there all the time, he's not even making part of the main thing, Michael and Trevor's story

I love Micheal but I really am getting sick of this, there is NO main character, there is a main cast, a main group. All 3 of them are highly important to the story, is Franklin a little in the background? Yes, because he hasn't DONE this stuff before, he doesn't have the past relations Micheal and Trevor has, these are 2 people he just met and stuff he is doing for the first time.

Oh and being a prick does NOT mean they can't be a main character.

What i don't understand is how Trevor forgave Michael for all he did. He set Trevor and Brad to be captured or killed by police while making excuse that it was the only way out for him and his family. He was a snitch and after all Trevor didn't killed him.

I really don't quite understand that part, every criminal who was betrayed by his formal crime partner would either cut all the ties with that person or kill him for betrayal, yet Trevor didn't do any of those things. This is either a huge story hole or Trevor didn't know all details about Michael's deal with FIB and that Michael actually wanted him to die in that heist in North Yankton.

Other question is what use did Dave and FIB have from Michael to put him in witness protection in the first place?

He is a great character. They all are. And there is something to hate about each of them. Especially Trevor. I don't get how Trevor can have so many fanboys and then people turn around and hate on another character for something they did in the story. Trevor ruined a lot of lives. Killed a lot of people.

Spoiler

Also if you pay attention to the dialog you will see that he chased Ron's wife off, and he murdered all of Wade's friends on their way to a concert. And then he gets them hooked on meth so they stay around. All the while threatening and beating them. If you are looking at some one and how good or bad they are as a character morally, then Trevor is the worst. Not to mention that he cries about not having anyone in his life. No woman, no friends. But he continues to act the way he does.

And then Franklin acting high and mighty and brushing his buddy Lamar aside. Wanting to throw that friendship away. His sad begging of Tanisha to get back with him was incredibly annoying.

And my biggest gripe with Mike was that he was a selfish rat. He sold out his friends, and then later during the last heist he kind of ignores his family after they were attacked. And yeah he bitches about his life. But it seems like he knows he has anger problems and he wants to change.

They all have bad points, but they all redeem themselves a bit at least. And they have their good points as well. Which I find more entertaining and outweigh the bad in the end.

The only person Mike sold out was

Spoiler
He just stopped talking with the rest of his friends and
Spoiler
He also didn't ignore his family they moved out of the house to somewhere safe while he took care of the problem, including the last heist so he wouldn't have to keep doing any more jobs. Not that he isn't a selfish rat. Just not as big of one as you make him out to be.

Personally, I found Franklin just as whiny as Michael and quite the pushover. All anyone had to do was insult him and he'd help to prove he wasn't whatever they called him. His catch phrase seemed to be "What?"

The entire prologue was a set up. I don't believe either Trevor or Brad were supposed to make it out. They were supposed to be in jail or in the ground if things went as planned. And then when his family moved out he concentrated on pulling off a heist before going after the man responsible for his family being in danger. Money took priority over family there. Amanda even calls and asks if Mike took care of it and Mike was like take care of what? And then reassured her they wouldn't be attacked again when he had no idea if it was true or not. Was a sh*tty thing to do. I still love his character though. Don't get me wrong. But those two moments in the game really made me think, this guy is kind of an ass. But I did that with all characters in the game. And they all redeemed themselves.

Other question is what use did Dave and FIB have from Michael to put him in witness protection in the first place?

That is one of the great things about Trevor. He was incredibly upset and hurt over what Mike did. And he threatened and probably seriously though about killing him for a while. But you could see that neither wanted to actually kill the other in that scene in North Yankton. Trevor even more so than Mike. Trevor only threw the gun at Mike instead of shooting him. Mike actually shot but missed horribly for a sharp shooter.

Also, I don't think Mike said explicitly or alluded to wanting Trevor dead when talking about what went down in the prolog.

And Mike had a lot to offer an FiB agent. He made Dave's whole career. I believe he also gave dave a lot of money. Not to mention all the guys on other jobs over the years he could have potentially gave up. And who knows what kind of ties a career criminal bank robber could have to give up? Mike had a lot to offer for witness protection.

Because Micheal is not a cliche character and is the most developed out of the three.

Franklin= Generic gang banger that wants to make it big. Zero character development during the game.

Trevor= A nihilistic crazy mother f*cker that doesn't give a sh*t. To be fair there is some character development, but it's pretty jagged.

The reason I like Michael a lot is because he's a man of principles, albeit at times morally f*cked principles. He actually cares for his family, and even though he screwed over his running buddies back in the day, it was for good reason.
Trevor is a psychopath who randomly kills without justification. He has no morality.
Franklin is a good kid, but you know he's not loyal to anyone because of how be treats his aunt

and the fact that it

That's why I think Michael is likable. He may not be a saint, but he's relatable.

I came to think of Michael as sort of a retired 007, who came back out of retirement. He was my favorite.

I just finished main story last night, and chose A.

i was disappointed there were never any opportunities to screw his wife Amanda. i didnt have Michael get a private dance till near the end when it seemed obvious there was no gettin laid at home.

Also disappointed there was no mission where Trevor screws Michaels daughter lol.

Based on what Trevor did to those two at the apartment was why I made my end game decision.

I actually liked Michael, mainly because of the storyline with this family and how he tried really hard and got nowhere and that the money just didn't make him happy whereas other characters in the series have been like gimme lots of money so I can go buy lots of sh*t and kill random people. His wife is a right bitch though,

Spoiler
and she has a go at me and even when
Spoiler
she is still bitching. It was quite amusing though when I walked in and as a random event she was using a pink vibrator (you didn't see anything though but she says something about locking doors then lobs it across the room). I got to admit by far though the most amusing character is Trevor, he just don't give a f**k about anything even if at times he is a bit unlikeable by bullying and killing other characters but his dialogue is hilarious. Franklin is pretty meh. I don't like or dislike him.

Michael is the most whiny little asshole out of the three. And he is also a rat bastard that deserve to get his tongue cut off with a scissor. Seriously, he has a f*ckin mansion and he COMPLAINS!!!. And f*ck you to those who say his family treated him like sh*t. He should be better at raising his own kids. I seriously hoped his daughter would have become a pornstar, when Jimmy said she had becomed a "star of some sort" but Rockstar failed again on this storyline. Michael is a rich c*nt, rat prick, who doesnt deserve anything hes got, and still you guys root for him! wake the f*ck up! One can easily see the similarities between him and Dan Houser/Sam Houser. They write mediocre screenplays for games and dont do any of the computer programming, and yet they still have a networth of 80 million dollars, each. And they certainly got more after after this game. Michael in this game has rich boy problems.

I can definetly relate more to Franklin and Trevor who both are poor.

Good for you, but being a narrow-minded idiot as you are, you may fail to notice that Micheal can be relatable and interesting character to some people, as is trevor and franklin to you, considering that, I say Dan and Sam Housers are worth every penny they get, for these well written games, and interestingly developed characters. Remember your opinion does not equal fact you little man-slut.

In my game I did none of that with Mike and Amanda kept accusing me of hooking up with strippers and whores. Made me like her less. I was like, what the hell? She bangs anything that moves and Mike who has done nothing is the cheating ass hole? So my second play through I went to the strip club. And to my surprise Mike mentioned that he went to the strip club to his shrink. Which didn't happen last time. So many crazy little things in this wonderful game.

I like him because he is a man with a life time of bad choices, wrong moves and selfish actions coming back to haunt him. He is a man who has past his prime in life and is starting to divulge into a world of personal hell. It makes you think how fragile life is and Michael is starting to realize how sh*tty his only life was. Truly sad, and I like sad stories. Much like Niko's terrible life and bad choices.

On the Psychic Shout out website, Michael does admit cheating on his wife many times in the past.

why some people say Trevor is the " brains " and his IQ is high? He can't even identify a good object to
Steal. Did you see how the merryweather heist gone wrong and no one got paid even a cent?!

By the way, michael's SNITCH and RAT personality is obviously understandable. Crime is nothing
Like drinking in a bar with friends or inviting and visiting them like family. Michael is just involved with
Lunatics whom can't be trusted. Trevor once says that Brad was a dick after all he's been through with
That poor Brad, so it's clear that Trevor may not give a damn about Michael when he describes Brad
Like that. Michael also has love for a family who don't return his love to them , especially his son . Trevor
And franklin are very like the former protagonist in earlier GTAs and franklin's character is made rather poorly and un- interesting. Trevor is no real, but is still good and equal to former protagonists, like Tommy , Toni Cipriani and niko bellic,

.... And you decided to make a thread about it..... Look, everyone has their own OPINION.. Respect that. Everyone go their own taste, and own mindset. Lesson learned.

In topic, well, like I said ^^but I personally like Michael because he is still a badass. His past, his weird choices, it makes him kinda cool. He robs banks, and he also reminds me of Neil mccaulsey from the movie Heat.

Put it this way: If this game had only Michael I'd be fine with it. I can't say the same for Franklin or Trevor. Michael is the focal point of the story and I think that Rockstar had a bit too much to work with, adding not one, but two characters to the set-up. As I've already written to Rockstar in November, it'd work better if they had 2, and not 3. It's my wish for the next game. One gripe I have with V and IV is that it's not referencing movies as much as the 3D era games. Now it's more about referencing the city itself. They're really good at that too, but why not both? I wrote Rockstar in November, knowing it would probably not be long until they started GRA VI at that time (Unifficially of course). I wrote that if they want to keep doing the multiple protag thing, then just have 2. Set it in Las Venturas and let it play out like the movie Casino by Scorsese. Two mobsters running a casino that outgrows each other. It's right up Rockstar's ally, and they'd make a great game of it.

I don't mind Michael, he's the most 'normal' out of the three. Franklin is OK but a bit dull. Trevor can be a laugh sometimes but also a little bit annoying.

If anything, I would say it's Trevor who is the most disliked character in GTAV, and possibly the least popular protagonist out of all GTA games, especially amongst TLAD fans. I have to admit I never played TLAD but Trevor's intro into the storyline was way too over the top...

I too always had a rather somber mood while viewing the game from his perspective. You could basically replace everyword he ever says with "F*ck, f*ck, f*ck" and it would be less depressing. I wish he would go into a frenzy a bit more often...and show a little more facial expression. He's like a Hollywood actress with too much botox.

edit: And as was just stated... Frankline...ugh, talk about a boring son of a playdoh bitch.

Michael can be both serious and funny! He feels real and relatable! Experienced bank robber with a hilourious son.

I wish this whole game was about him. It would have felt like an adventure! Trevor is an amazing charecter though maybe he should have been saved for the next game!
