My old 80gig first model ps3 is buzzing and fans blowing like crazy, I know gta 5 is a damanding game, it runs perfectly for me at least no framerate issues or anything. Textures load fine, and the game looks great. My concern is, is this all too much for my ps3 to handle? I usually play for roughly 5-6 hours non stop. Then it usually gets turned off.

Also change the thermal paste if you haven't already, it's a must-do. It might save you from YLOD if done properly. Also it's prefered to keep the ps sideways, so the heat can exit from top.

I know there are proper ways to dust a console, but that takes work, normally i just use a condensed air spray (the type most often used for cleaning computer keyboards, inside the gaps) i just take off the cover and give it a few sprays over it, loosening up the dust, most gets blown out of the console, some goes into a corner, usually works for me as less stress on the fans. And the left over dust isnt really a problem since it is somewhere away from the fan.

Mine went DNS and nothing fixed it so I'm going to run my PS3 into the ground with GTAV.
