Unfortunatly online gameplay is where the money is at. No one wants singleplayer only games now, Social interaction is all its about.

Hence why all the good features and content here are saved for online

It's Grand Theft Auto, not the Sims, man.

I hate when people always say "now that I've finished the game, I've realized there's nothing to do". Nothing could be further from the truth. There is literally everything to do.

I mean, if you could have them include things to "do" in the game, what would it be for you? Lets say they allow you to purchase real estate in the game (which they could probably add in a patch within 4, 5 months (all they'd have to do is create interiors for houses that are already in the game, and attach a price tag to it).

If they allowed you to purchase a house, so what? What would you do in it? Keep in mind, it's not the Sims, it's GTA. Grand Theft Auto games have always been about running around for a while, causing chaos, playing online, and then take a break.

If I were to suggest things for Rockstar to add to give it soooooooo much more replayability it would be things that never get old and can be repeated over and over (like how they did tennis and golf)...

Things like:

gang wars (that basically functions like any generic zombie game where more and more waves of enemies come towards you until you finally die)

drug dealing (you're given an infinite amount of timed missions to deliver drugs to places and people - the time gets shorter as the distances get longer and it becomes more difficult) - easy way to get cash

casino (literally, you can play poker, slots, black jack - this would also be added online to play with friends and random people... trust me, online GTA poker (RDR style) would be incredibly popular among fans).

taxi missions, police missions, firefighter missions, ambulance missions, and hitchiker missions (which are similar to random ped missions - except you find random people stranded on the side of the street)

pilot missions (where you act as the pilot of a commercial airliner and you have to fly through a technical, course that is timed, across the map to another airport, and back - would be fun, and could be played over and over.

Other than that, what else do you expect to be able to do in the game?

First you ask your question and then later you give answer to yourself! LOL I can tell you in general what R* could have done, so people would stop say things like that! Its things that you find common sense in trying out, like when you see taxi vehicle, you automatically thing of ability of delivering passangers, because it has taxi sign above the car, the same goes for police, firetruck and ambulance missions! For example i would love more use of utility vehicles and farm vehicles, like having to use tractors on the farm as mini-game or forklifts to life cargo at the warehouse or using quarry vehicles for mini-game (like in SA) or heavy trucks to deliver cargo (like in SA countrysides as well!...)! Seriously These kind of missions are what makes the city feel more believable and thats the area at which in my opinion R* dropped the ball!...

Personally I don't think withholding basic features such as single player bank jobs (non story) and the ability to go inside more buildings is a good marketing move if you want people going online. The more people that stick around after they are done with the story, the more that are going to be willing to check out the online and get involved in that. It's nonsensical to make your singleplayer significantly more limited. It's not just a small amount of content there to tease you into online, it's pretty much screaming ''you have nothing to do in single player so you are going to be playing online if you want anything fun!''.

People like choices. It wouldn't have been much effort to cater more to giving people things in single player, without detracting from the online experience whatsoever.

And besides people still dig single player titles the multiplayer thing is just stronger now. But the majority of the game of the year contenders this year (bioshock, the last of us etc) are still strong single player experiences. And GTA has always been one of those strong single player experiences, with a lot of replay value and things to do. I just feel like the fact they put so much effort into the multiplayer in comparison has left this single player somewhat lacking at launch. It's still fun but I am not eager to jump back on as there is no real reason to other than goofing around. After less than a week I shouldn't feel like I have nothing to work towards, it shouldn't feel like I've got so few options in the way of robberies etc.

Yep, also leaving out the ability to drive trains. Not being able to use the gym. Just the little things that make the game a bit more fun.

The problem is that those aren't "little things" really for me, but rather important to keep me busy/drawn into the game for more hours! Yes the game is not The Sims and it doesn't need to have those activities, like having to go to work on a daily basis, having a personal schedule, like having to use toilets, bathrooms, washing and cleaning etc...It doesn't need all that, but things like what you mention plus what i mentioned above in my post is what makes the game for me really! Because everytime i launch my game approach Ambulance vehicle and enter it i'm going "WTF man i can't even use this vehicle, so i can drive around doing missions to deliver patients to hospital?! not cool at all"!

cops don't just shoot you they beat you shoot you while on the ground one was stamping on trevors head. If you hit anybody in or near grove even in self defence the pedestrians all come after you females punch you then you are gunned down wasted and all i did was press the talk button to see what trevor say thinking friendly but i was pushed and punchedit is catch 22 WTF

ROCKSTAR this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Half the advertised stuff is online only.

This was said in a multitude of interviews.

Online opens up all those buildings you can see the interior of.
Online allows up to 500 pre-programmed heists, and you can create your own
Online will have your vigilante missions in the form of cops and robbers
Online has the full stock system
Online allows you to buy safehouses
Online allows bigger garages
Online allows more car customisation

Ect.

The singleplayer is a tutorial for the online mode, the online mode that they want you to play instead, the online mode that they can cash in on with a cash shop.

Welcome to the future of gaming.

Welcome to the future of $0.01 eBay trash, you mean. At least Vice City will still be playable 20 years down the track.

Got some time off work so decided to go all out and smash through the game as quick as possible. After completing all the missions (around 80%), I've realised how poor the game actually is compared to the buzz Rockstar and the public have been dishing out over it. I'll give you my reasons...

1. Completed all the missions and now nothing to do. Apart from the Strangers and Freaks missions all around the map, there is literally nothing else to do. Before the release it seemed like the game would involve a lot of bank jobs/heists. I think there's about 4 throughout the whole game as missions. Being able to go to Lester after the game finished and doing random heists would improve it so much, and maybe some more assassination missions.

2. Properties. Before the release a lot was being spoken about regarding buying properties. You can buy a few businesses which rake in a few dollars a week, and some cinemas and a golf club which you can't even afford? What happened to the houses we could buy in the real estate?

3. Accessible buildings. Apart from the 3 safehouses and the odd liqueur store to rob, there is literally no buildings which can be entered. Hospitals, Police stations, Casinos, random houses, gyms etc could be entered in San Andreas and IV. I used to enjoy going into the hospital in GTA 4, shooting all the patients and having a little shootout with the rozzas.

All in all it's an amazing game, one of the best I've played but I was expecting so much more seeing as they've had nearly 6 years to work on it.

All good points 6 years is long enough to come up with really super good content. This should have been the crown jewel of rockstar games. in my opinion.

It was a short game. But wit all the talk of the marketing and release strategy i cant help but feel like its all a gimmick! So people will buy as much DLC as R* can get them to.

property weapons and cars charged right to my credit card? NO NO NO NO Rockstar wont be making that extra buck off me!

Also The driving physics are so bad like its crazy taxi for PS1?

I cant help but feel Rockstar is going for broke on this one selling out all their loyal fans in the process. and with over 1 billion in sales (in the first 3 days) id say they pulled a bigger heist than they even let us pull in the game!

If you dont want GTA V anymore, give it back to Gamestop, Best Buy, or your nearby gamestore. Nobody gives a f*ck about some ungrateful motherf*ckers complaining over a game that has been worked on for almost 2 years. Get a life. God, people like this + jackasses are destroying it.

Honestly the game hasnt been out long enough to get dissapointed in, unless you truly put all your expectations into the story mode. I thought it was quite clear that the major hype for the game was for the immense online mode, bringing a whole new dynamic MMORPG/Second life concept to GTA.

No idea what gamestop or best buy is! No one here has said they don't want GTA V anymore. Read the comments and you'll see how we all think it's a great game, one of the best, it's just with the build up which was given everyone expected so much more. And they have been working on it for nearly 6 years... not "almost 2".

To me ... rockstard did a great job,im just starting , i have done only  20% of the game  but by now i think they repeated the big success that GTASA was back in the day, no other ps3 or x360 game can be compared with GTA V ,let's wait for the GTAOL , seems to be that they expend a lot of time developing it..

I thought buying houses was unlocked after a certain mission, guess I was wrong. That's really bad.

"Wait for online" is the biggest bullsh*t I've ever heard by the way. GTA V is a singleplayer game.

Unfortunatly online gameplay is where the money is at. No one wants singleplayer only games now, Social interaction is all its about.

I totally agree and my comments before are not against this sentiment.

What im pointing out is that this is exactly what they have done. They have purposely limited the singleplayer experience, so that people put time and effort into the multiplayer.

If you look at all the "unofficial interviews" (ie. the ones by the developers not the PR guys) the clear bias towards GTAO has been evident for months now. They want you to enjoy the story and then leave singleplayer behind because its GTAO they are focusing on. All DLC so far has been mentioned for GTAO, them boasting how they have so much content just waiting to be released over time with GTAO.

Lets face it, we are two months away from a new generation release, there is little incentive to release DLC for the singleplayer when a good proportion of your player base is migrating to a system that cant run GTA V. However what has been said is that GTAO will be next gen, and soon. All DLC and future content will be GTAO based so both the current gen and next gen users buy it, which means... GTAO..not GTA V.

The game is made to be a throw away, the real game is coming on Oct 1st.

Not anymore it isnt. GTAO is going to be their mainstay, each game will have it, and each games version works with each other. Its the thing at the center of this and future games.

You can however...buy multiple safe houses, customisable safehouses, in GTAO.

Does that mean they only started working on it when they publicly announced it? Obviously not. They would of been working on it the minute GTA IV was released.

QFT.  This x 1E6.  It's called IMMERSION R*.

They made a huge leap foward adding Bully features of being able to ride those amusement park rides.  But then made a step backward leaving out a dating system.  They brilliantly added in the hunting mini game feature and random world events which were lessons learned from their success in RDR. Then took another step backward in not allowing your character the ability to skin the carcass?

Yes calling in your kill is a very convenient way tto get your achievements for this minigame.  But doing this short changes us immersive gamers.  Why couldn't they have added a 3-5 second RDR skin/clean carcass animation and let you take the meat back to your fridge safehouse?  Then let your character eat this to gain health instead of having to buy food at the convenience store (or drink beer/whiskey in the kitchen).  What if your char is broke and can't afford to eat at the convenience store? Being able to hunt and stockpile food would have gone a long way.  :/

Personally, the restriction of the hunting hobby to a specific character (Trevor) once you've completed the game is a real immersion breaker.  If all characters (especially Micheal) can shoot, then why the f@ck can't they all go hunting whenever they feel like it???

The lack of all these immersive features in single player is a huge step back from SA.  Especially when you consider just how much interactive sandbox content was descoped from the original in terms of the insane degree of customization and non mission mini games.

Please tell you you're planning on adding these features back in a future DLC R*. :/

In addition to what I mentioned above, they should add the ability to randomly rob banks in free roam (basically what would happen is, you rob a bank, and depending on how much you take and how long you stay, you get a higher wanted level, each robbery could probably go as high as a million dollar take, BUT the only way to get the money is if you're able to escape the 5 star wanted level - which is near impossible). That'd be fun, too.

Yes I agree also, the Maze Bank is not enterable but they have armed guards outside, and I have seen 2 Fleeca Banks located in LS and both are enterable to walk in but there is no workers and there is a vault which cannot be opened, I've tried planting sticky bombs all over it... I would love to see a DLC to let us open these vaults like do a stick up to the bank manager and get them to open the vault, would be sick. without bank robberys in Singleplayer It's pretty boring just holding up liquor stores and the occasional armored van random event, I want to be able to equip my Balaclava to rob a bank not just a liquor store ;(

I guess you've never heard about a single player sandbox rpg called Skyrim.  Or the $690 million it made in sales to date:

http://www.statistic...s-v-statistics/

Or the sh*tload of FREE 41,500+ DLC game content on Steam & Nexus which have directly extended this single player game shelf life to date.

Or the fact that many TES gamers can claim over 500+ hours on this game--because of this free DLC content.  Or the fact over 1 million ppl are STILL playing this 2 year single player game online to date.

R* dropped the ball here IMO.  I'd hate to think the online version of V will ever devolve into the sewer GTA IV multiplayer. Especially since features like the stock market is giving it so much promise.  Because if they fail to regulate the trolls and griefers who made GTA IV multi player such a living hell, the sandbox content in the single player game might not be enough to sustain fanboy interest.  I'm still holding out hope they'll add more immersive features on the single player end though.

VICE CITY IS STILL THE BEST OF THE SERIES.

The cops have ruined this game. I love the "Drive" style evasion but hate the free roam due to cops response time. I was down by Franklins joint with Trevor and this huge gang battle between latins and ballers went down on the free way, It was awesome, so I decided to get involved. Want to shoot one the Ballers with a silenced pistol? Too bad, cause the cops come and start shooting at me. BTW, not when I was in front the cops on scene, but they came right for me when i killed that guy, not when they came first and actually saw me do it. They came just for me, and were not even in the area to begin with WTF - poor poor poor coding.

Want to snipe some hiker on the top of a mountain near vinewood sign? Too bad, citizems report, 1 star.

Want to See what the firetrucks do? Okay, Lets drop a grenade. O well, cant even have time for them to respond becuase i goota get outta there so 2 starts worth of cops wont beat up on me. After I get through all the missions, they only way I will be able to play free roam is with wanted level cheats, to make the game fun. There's no funn crafty way to try things out anymore. It all ends in like 30 seconds with a crazy cop chase getting to 4 stars, which has grown stale.

I miss Vice City, when I could actually do  a wheelie and see how long it lasted, or jump a mootorcycle and do some crazy ass stunt. Or go into a building that ment something. Remember how fun it was to take the chainsaw into the maill in Vice City? and have a shootout with the cops on the escelators?

This game is GREAT! , but yes it was overhyped. It doesnt get a 8/10 due to some mysongy bs, but it does for the general lack of creativity.

Speaking of creativity, GTA is at its best when it is doing a period peice. You could argue that it is V with the 21st century America, but it really shined when doing a satire of scarface. Yeah, in Vice city the map was smaller, but it had segments. you knew which parts to go into to get into a fight, or try crazy astunt. It was just fun.

And I have a right to complain. I bought the game. I pay taxes. I love Murica!

U, my man are a BOSS! Totally agree with you! Lets go all back to vice cityyy :D

nothing to do

- Then do some thing! .. do not dare ask what? or i'll smash you right on your face.

Properties

- Play GTAO

Accessible buildings

OK .. agree on this, so now? play previous titles or just satisfy what V has to offer, otherwise, GTAO

All in all it's an amazing game, one of the best I've played but I was expecting so much more seeing as they've had nearly 6 years to work on it.

So, what do u learn?

Spoiler

Do you even consider putting more thought into your posts? I mean c'mon nobody wants to read that sh*t.

This guy has valid reasons as to why he is upset, I mean it is a GTA were a lot of small activities are supposed to matter but they seem to be lacking which is odd from Rockstar. You do have GTA Online but that doesn't mean Rockstar had to make a stupid move and turn into EA games or Turn10Studios, who give Online all of the cool features. Hell they're even worse actually. Removing interiors, properties, and activities from SP to put in Online, what the hell? Who honestly thought that that would be a good idea? Honestly who? /rant

With that said the game is still very good but just because its good doesn't mean its perfect or absolutely great and like everything in this world, it has cons and/or flaws.

Couldn't care less about online, as it forces me to play with douchebags, but I AM slightly disappointed that there aren't more buildings you can enter as well.  One of my favorite things was going on rampages inside and holding a position in the buildings, mowing down wave after wave of cops and FIB agents.

Once you have beaten a GTA game, I don't think there is a whole lot to do, no matter how much you add to it. There is always free roaming, but I think R* put more effort into online for V, which is really sad to me.

I just think that's so wrong, I personally want the full experience on sp without idiots ragging cars through the city and firing rpg's at me. I don't want or need that in my game
